August 3rd Bug-Fixing Build

Wow! It seems like there’s a never-ending stream of bugs to fix…but, I gotta fix ’em! I don’t want the build of the game that contains Osana to be super buggy. I want it to be nice and polished! So, gotta fix those bugs!

To see a list of everything that was fixed in the latest build, please scroll down past this morbid-yet-beautiful artwork by Kittyblush and Ryuuji!

Ah, it looks so cool! If I had more spare time, I’d love to implement an easter egg inspired by this artwork…

Fixes

  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to perform the “carrying object” animation during the Heartbroken screen if she was caught laughing by a teacher or Senpai while she was carrying an object.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the “Pickpocket” button prompt to remain stuck onscreen (like a sticker on your computer monitor) when it wasn’t supposed to be active.
  • Fixed bug that made teachers perform their normal idle animation instead of a “combat stance” when waiting for the right moment to apprehend Yandere-chan.
  • Fixed bug that made students keep holding objects in their hands even after being distracted by Yandere-chan giggling or pointing a phone at their face.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the camera outside of Info-chan’s room to be lit differently than the rest of the school.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the characters to hold cell phones and pens in their hands simultaneously during class.
  • Fixed bug that could cause Yandere-chan to freeze in place permanently if she defeated a teacher in a struggle.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Kokona to hold her pen / cell phone in her hands during her lunchtime event.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the “Simulate High Population” students to have weird lighting / textures.
  • Fixed bug that could cause static noises to play after existing a mission in Mission Mode.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing Yandere-chan from dropping corpses while pick-pocketing.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Senpai’s photograph to turn pure black at night.
  • Fixed bug that allowed the player to clip into the safe in Mission Mode.

  1. “Fixed bug that would cause the characters to hold cell phones and pens in their hands simultaneously during class.”

This is it… the ultimate student experience… I’m almost sad it was fixed, I would have loved to see that!

  2. Personally I think the fact that they could hold them both in one hand was funny. BTW, in class, I don’t think Oka actually plays on her phone, because she holds it but does the ‘shy sitting’ animation instead of the ‘playing on phone sitting’ animation. This might have been updated or fixed, but it was happening last time I looked

  3. “if i had some spare time i could implement an easter egg based on this photo”
judging by the way it looks
    ONONONOONONONONONONONNOO
    PLZGODNO
    NOTOTHENONOES
I GET SCARED EASILY AND THIS IS GONNA FREAKING TERRIFY ME IF I SEE IT IN GAME
probably the way this easter egg is gonna be activated is pressing 6 three times in the easter egg menu
    BECAUSE ITS FUCKING HORRIFYING

    • I don’t know. This is so creepy, and honestly is my least favorite fanwork Devpai has ever posted. Like ewwwww.

  4. You know i’ve been thinking about it and wouldn’t it be better if things like homicidal tendencies were part of yandere chan’s personality? up until now it’s seemed like an essential part of her character in both fan art and in the game has been all about the different elimination methods that she can use in the game, I get that this is optional and you can win the game without killing but it feels like a core aspect that makes yandere chan so interesting is being stripped away by the whole concept of everything she’s doing being symptomatic of some hereditary condition. It’s almost like it takes an important part of her character and just makes it a symptom of an otherwise apathetic character who’s characterised by nothing else but this hereditary condition and her love for senpai.

  5. I think you need to change the inventory of the character and something is not clear where all the weapons it hides.

  6. Out of curiosity, does the fact that you effectively have at least a partial map for how to approach the rivals make you a bit more confident/a bit less concerning in how to progress with them, since you’re not just feeling your way through blind?

  7. Yandere Dev, I think I found a reason why the launcher might not be working for a lot of people! I think it’s because when you download files from the internet, Windows automatically blocks most features of the file that could be potential threats. It could be that the player has to go to the YanSim launcher’s file location, then right click on the file and select Properties, then from there click Unblock and press apply and OK.

I couldn’t get the launcher to work before, so I think it was that the Windows operating system’s preapplied protection for files from the internet is the problem. After I unblocked the executable file, it works completely fine.
