March 17th Bug-Fixing Build

A lot of bugs have been reported! I’ve done my best to fix the most important ones. Scroll down below this awesome illustration by 132 to read about all of the bugs that were fixed!

Bug Fixes

  • There was a bug that would cause a student’s dead body to become inaccessible if the student was killed too close to the school exit. To combat this issue, I’ve extended the amount of time that students are invulnerable for, when they are walking through the school gate.
  • Fixed bug that would allow a student to see a corpse even if the corpse had “Hidden” status (inside of a bathroom stall, for example).
  • Fixed bug that would cause a mind-broken slave to appear in your basement even after they had already killed themselves.
  • Fixed the bug that would allow the player to rotate the GUI while peeking into…the room we don’t talk about.
  • Fixed bug that would cause corpses to leave blood pools in midair while being tossed off the school rooftop.
  • Fixed bug that made it impossible to speak to students after wearing a mask and taking it off.
  • Fixed bug that would make it possible to carry a corpse and push a dumpster at the same time.
  • Fixed bug that would make it possible to wear multiple masks at the same time.
  • Fixed bug that made it impossible to hand a weapon to a mind-broken slave.
  • Fixed the floating pair of glasses inside…the room we don’t talk about.

Changes

  • Changed the hair color of the corpses at the title screen so that it doesn’t look like there are 5 dead Yandere-chans in the background.
  • Added fire extinguishers to the school. You can’t actually pick them up…yet.
  • Removed the “Warning” scene. It was a bit too…”cringey”.

This build would have been available yesterday if it wasn’t for this problem. Please, do not send me an e-mail unless:

  • You’re volunteering.
  • You’re reporting a bug.
  • You represent a company or a publication.
  • You’re reporting someone who is impersonating me.
  • You’re sharing fan art or cosplay.

Remember, every minute I spend reading your e-mail is a minute I am NOT developing the game. You don’t want to delay the game, do you? Then, only send me an e-mail me if you have something extremely important to say.

      • @cutecat97, There is a difference between commenting questions, and legitimately sending stupid emails. Do you know if this person sent YandereDev an email? No. All they did was comment the question where YandereDev would very likely not see us, and it was for us to answer instead. And as you can see, people post plenty of comments that contain questions, for other people to answer. YandereDev’s problem is emails that waste his time, not the comments on his posts, which he hardly ever looks at. It’s okay to ask questions in the comments for other fans (like us) to answer if they’d like, but sending the Dev emails for he himself to answer not okay. There is a difference.
        Also, a friend of mine believes that every time you use a ton of exclamation marks like that, a puppy dies.

  2. I’ve been really sick for the last month and a half or so, and on the first of next month I’ll be getting a special x-ray of my stomach. Hopefully when I get back yandere-dev-pai will have something good to cheer me up! hehe~~~ X )

  11. I have some questions if anyone is willing to give some answers. I can’t keep up with Yandere Dev’s blog 24/7, so I miss a lot of info, just wanted to catch up from someone again so I know what’s going on.
    1) The cello case bug. I’ve tried everything in game for it. I’ve put it on before joining the club, it bugs. I join the club and then put it on, it bugs. Can’t get it off. Has Yandere Dev mentioned this bug yet anywhere, and does anyone know anything that could work in game to fix it?
    2) How many weeks will be in the final game? I’ve heard 5, 8, and 10, no idea which is right. Has Dev said anything about it?
    3) Who the frick is Osana-chan??? Is she the girl under the tree, or is that girl Rival-chan (who is supposed to be the delinquent leader, if I’m correct. He said something about her in a video of them)? Is she Senpai’s sister like I’ve heard from a lot of rumors, in which case it’s weird since Info-chan specified she has a crush on Senpai? Or is she just a random rival who’s not in the game yet?
    4) Last question. Has Yandere Dev said anything about…. THAT club? Will it ever be joinable, or is that club a forever alone club for our Info-chan?
    These are the questions I’ve been wondering about mostly. Any answers would be helpful 🙂

    • (1) Are you in the latest build? (March 17th) If you aren’t, make sure you are, because that’s a past bug that has been fixed. If you are in the latest build, hold down the 4 key and that should drop the cello case. If it’s still bugging, then e-mail YandereDev about the bug.
      (2) There will be ten weeks in the final game, with one rival each week. This has been confirmed numerous times; whoever has said 5 and 8 is incorrect.
      (3) Osana-Chan, or better known as Osana Najimi, is the first rival in the game. She will be a “tutorial” rival, and she is not implemented in. The girl under the tree is Rival-Chan; she was made to test out the “red aura” in Yandere Vision. The girl under the tree will NOT be the delinquent rival. That is an entirely different NPC. Senpai’s sister will be a rival, (the 8th rival, if I’m correct) but this may change. She does not have a crush on Senpai, she is just very clingy, and will make him swear to never date anyone (at least not in highschool anyway).
      (4) The Info Club will most likely never be joinable, as the player is not supposed to interact with Info-Chan face-to-face. YandereDev has not fully explained that club.

    • In our school, when you remove a fire extinguisher from it’s place, it will automatically notify the fire departments of our city and send a ton of firetrucks. Maybe if you could remove the extinguisher, everyone would think it’s fire and there would be overall chaos, meaning nobody cares about their surroundings, as long as they get out of it alive. Every teacher would run out with their class to a meeting point (like to the tracks), but some students would hide under the tables, meaning it would be a perfect chance to quietly *cough* remove them.

  15. Hmm… How about setting up an official suggestions email address, brightly visible as the Please Send Mr Suggestiona email somewhere. Then just dumping everything that comes in… Might get rid of the most ridiculous of suggesters.

      • He doesn’t have to look at the suggestions. Just have a place for the people who email him stupid stuff so it doesn’t show up on the email he actually uses.

Dear YandereDev i found a bug if you make the octopus hotdogs before kokona make it there is no plate and if you have no octopus hotdogs and kokona makes it you have new octopus and if she finish making it kokona have the plate and you have invisible plate its in the march 18 build please fix it.

        Submerged: Yup, that could be true. And if that was so, I wouldn’t react at all. The thing is, if you’re looking at the comments on this page you’ll see that a lot of users have been posting the exact same thing, but a day or two after. I’m not concerned about someone “stealing” my username, as I’ve only commented two or three times now, but it could be annoying for someone else.

        Oh well. Hopefully they’ll realize someday that there’s a lot more interesting things to do than copy comments/names on the Internet. 😛
