Survey Results and New Build

On June 1st, I asked the fanbase to fill out a survey; I wanted them to rank the features they wanted the most and the least.

After over 12,000 votes, here are the results:

With all of the data scattered around like that, it’s hard to tell what ranks first, what ranks last, etc. I’ll list it out for you below:

  • 1) The ability to join the student council
  • 2) The ability to join Musume’s bully gang
  • 3) A unique expulsion process for Amai
  • 4A) Unique tasks for all students in 202XC Mode
  • 4B) All of the store in the down become functional
  • 5) Schemes for Amai’s eliminations
  • 6) Amai appears at the title screen in the manner you eliminated her
  • 7) More functionality for the protagonist’s home
  • 8) More functionality for Custom Mode
  • 9) A new feature to replace the “snooping through rival’s bookbag” feature
  • 10) 3D renders for Ryoba’s “introducing the next rival” cutscenes
  • 11A) Endless Mode
  • 11B) More “Dreams”
  • 12) Visual upgrades for 1980’s Mode students
  • 13) The addition of a new basement tape
  • 14) YandereDev returns to uploading YouTube videos
  • 15) Updated “Plan how to eliminate your rival” scene
  • 16) Small spinoff games like Kuudere Simulator

(“Unique Tasks” and “Functional Stores” were tied for 4th place, and “Endless Mode” and “More Dreams” were tied for 11th place.)

To hear my thoughts on the survey results – and to read a list of everything that changed in the latest build – scroll down past this super-cute artwork of Amai drawn by eeennnnenen!

(Yes, it’s Christmas-themed, and we’re very far away from Christmas at this time of year, but I still wanted to share it anyway! It’s just so cute!)

Thoughts on Survey Results

I gotta keep it 100 with you…I’m pretty bummed out to see “YouTube videos” and “spinoff games” so low on the list. The one thing that would bring me the most happiness would be having the freedom to spend my time doing things that are not Yandere Simulator, such as making YouTube videos and working on other projects. I want to do these things more than anything else in the world, and the reason why I don’t do these things is because I don’t want to disappoint all of the people who would rather see me exclusively spend my time working on Yandere Sim. Sadly, this survey confirms what I was worried about: If I pursue the things that I desire the most, people would hate it. Man…that’s a real bummer.

The next time you want to ask, “When will you return to making YouTube videos?” or “When will you release Kuudere Simulator 4?” Remember that this survey confirmed that those are two of the things that fans would be least interested in seeing from me.

(Honestly, though, I was very surprised to see YouTube videos being so low on the list. I really thought that a lot of people enjoyed those videos. I’m not sure what conclusion to draw from this new information.)

The purpose of the survey was to provide me with a “roadmap” for the current Inter-Rival Period. What should I do first; what should I save for last; what should I consider skipping entirely? Well, if we use the survey results as a guide, then I’d implement a “join the student council” feature, followed by a “join the bullies” feature, followed by a unique expulsion process for Amai, etc. The eight things that were ranked lowest will probably be saved for a future Inter-Rival Period, or potentially just abandoned entirely. (Bummer! I really wanted to work on some of those things!) At this moment, I’m not ready to give confirmation that I’ll implement the above features in the exact order of the rankings, but it’s something that I will definitely take into consideration when deciding what to work on next.

Anyway, let’s discuss the new build! It’s a big one – there are 19 improvements and 61 fixes! 80 differences in total! Let’s start with something that is…

Potentially A Big Deal

Occasionally, players would e-mail me and describe a bug: All students completely stopped spawning at school, even if the player started a new save file.

I’ve always wanted to fix this bug, but never could, because nobody could ever explain the steps that cause the bug to happen. However, on June 3rd, someone finally did it: they provided instructions that allowed me, for the first time, to replicate the bug and discover why it was happening! Thank you, “BroFlappyGamesYT,” you’re a legend!

Apparently, one way to reliably cause the bug was to end the day while a mind-broken slave was stabbing a student to death. If the player managed to end the day while the mind-broken slave was holding a weapon coated in the blood of a dead student, but BEFORE the slave had committed suicide, the police would be able to arrest the slave, but the game would still believe that it needs to spawn the slave at school. This would cause a conflict when the game attempted to spawn students at school the following day, leading to the “no students at school” bug.

Now that I’ve discovered the issue that caused this bug to happen (the game was attempting to spawn a student who was arrested student and interact with that student’s script), I’ve implemented some countermeasures that should prevent this type of issue from ever occurring again. Hopefully, nobody will ever get the “no students at school” bug again! …but, if it DOES happen, please provide me with the steps I need to replicate the bug myself. Otherwise, I won’t be able to fix it!

Gossip Adjustment

The way that students respond to gossip has been slightly adjusted. The amount of reputation that is deducted from the player while gossiping is now dependent on the student’s feelings towards gossip.

Here’s a chart that explains how it works:

  • Student enjoys Gossip, your gossip was true: 0 Points Deducted
  • Student is neutral towards gossip, your gossip was true: 1 Point Deducted
  • Student dislikes gossip, your gossip was true: 2 Points Deducted

  • Student enjoys Gossip, your gossip was false: 1 Points Deducted
  • Student is neutral towards gossip, your gossip was false: 2 Points Deducted
  • Student dislikes gossip, your gossip was false: 3 Points Deducted

Ayano’s Backyard

It is now possible to walk around in Ayano’s backyard!

There’s a reason why I added this feature; it’s because I’m planning some functionality for the backyard. It’s not implemented yet in the current build, but it’ll be coming in the future.

Amai Title Screen Eliminations

Surprise! One of the features from the survey has already been completed and added to the game!

Amai will now appear at the title screen in a fashion that represents the method that the player used to eliminate her!

Updated Tutorial Menu

It’s only a cosmetic change, but I’m still very happy with how it turned out:

I’ve updated the look-and-feel of the “Choosing which tutorial to do with Kokona” menu screen!

Improvements

  • From now on, in Custom Mode, the player will get a bonus during social interactions if they share the same animation set as the student they are talking to. (For example, if the player is using the “Shy” Persona and talking to a student with “Shy” animations, they’ll get a bonus.)
  • It didn’t make sense for delinquents to use the same “friendly and grateful” dialogue as normal students when accepting money from the player, so delinquents now have different dialogue for that circumstance.
  • From now on, if a character in a couple sees the corpse of their boyfriend/girlfriend, they will react to it the same way that Senpai reacts to a rival’s corpse. (Animations only, no subtitles.)
  • The “Pass Time Book” is no longer available after 4:31 PM on Fridays, since using it after that period of time could interfere with the game’s ability to activate the confession sequence.
  • Bullies will no longer wear scrunchies on their wrist if they are wearing long-sleeved school uniforms. (They will only wear the scrunchies if their uniform is short-sleeved.)
  • The photograph that Info-chan sends Ayano at the end of Week 2 has been updated so that Kizana is wearing her new outfit instead of her old outfit.
  • It is now possible to restore Ryuto’s original hairstyle. To do so, you must activate debug commands and then type “O S U” three times.
  • It is now possible to enable/disable Challenges and choose difficulty options before you start a Custom Mode playthrough.
  • From now on, gifting a student money will cause the player to learn how that student feels about the topic of money.
  • Raibaru will now warn Osana about water cooler tripwire traps. (Raibaru is perceptive enough to notice the traps.)
  • From now on, gifting a student money will not increase the “Friendship Bar” if that student dislikes money.
  • The tasks for the rivals of 1989 now have unique icons (instead of black silhouettes).
  • Water will no longer spill out of a bucket if there is no ground directly beneath it.
  • Amai now has thick eyebrows in the “Amai meets Senpai” cutscene.

Fixes

  • Even if Osana doesn’t confess to Senpai at the end of Week 1 (or is rejected at the end of Week 1), she still feels concern for Senpai’s well-being, because she has known him for over 10 years. If she finds a corpse during any week of the game, her reaction will be to run to Senpai and warn him about it. However, a bug would occur if Osana tried to tell Senpai about a corpse while he was in the middle of mourning the death of a rival. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player attacks a student with low sanity and mashes the attack button, the attack animation loops. If the player attacks their rival, the attack animation plays in slow motion. Due to a bug, the slow motion effect would trigger indefinitely if the player attacked a rival with low sanity and mashed the attack button. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, if the player accepted a rival’s task, the corresponding 1980s Mode rival’s task would activate. (For example, if the player accepted the 4th rival’s task, a black kitten would appear behind the school, because that kitten was connected to the task of Ryoba’s 4th rival). This bug has been fixed.
  • Although I’ve never experienced it myself, it was apparently possible for the game to get stuck on a black screen when attempting to transition out of the home scene and into another scene. I’ve made an adjustment / optimization to the code, and this probably should no longer be possible.
  • If the player stood too close to a teacher, the teacher would start to deplete the player’s reputation. This was an oversight, because teachers do not gossip with students, thus their opinion of the player should not affect the player’s reputation. This oversight has been corrected.
  • If the player activated Yandere Vision while a mind-broken slave was attacking a victim, the slave’s sound effects and voice lines would remain synchronized with the murder-suicide animation, but the victim’s voice lines would desynchronize. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player used Info-chan’s “Provide Student Info” Service, they could learn the names of upcoming characters, even though there was no way for Info-chan to know that those characters would eventually be at school. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player killed a rival and then reported the rival to the guidance counselor anytime after lunchtime, the game would try to display a “Guidance Counselor talks to Rival” cutscene during the End-of-Day sequence. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player joined the Light Music Club, kidnapped a Light Music Club girl, mind-broke her, and brought her to school, the mind-broken slave would have a giant Light Music Club instrument bag attached to her back. This bug has been fixed.
  • After the “Hair Salon Owner reveals her true nature” mini-cutsene, the true hair salon menu would appear, but all of the options would be non-interactive until the player exited the menu and then re-entered it. This bug has been fixed.
  • The “prevent Mai’s hair from clipping through walls behind her when she sits down” code had unfortunate side-effects, such as her hair clipping through her torso when the player spoke to her. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player poisoned a student and then used Yandere Vision to slow down time, the student’s “dying of poison” sound effects would de-synchronize from the “dying of poison” animation. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player befriended a student and then killed them immediately afterwards, the game would count that student towards Ryoba’s total number of friends, even though they were dead. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, any student who was given the “Guard” destination would stand way too close to their destination (the rival) and would also follow their target into the locker room. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a bullied student was required to change into club attire as part of their routine, they would change clothing and then immediately leave school, still wearing their club attire. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player got their school uniform bloody, they would permanently lose the ability to wear club attire for the rest of the day, even if they washed their school uniform. This bug has been fixed.
  • If Raibaru witnessed Osana’s corpse while Senpai was reacting to it, she would run up to Osana, speak to her as if she was alive, and then leave school with her corpse. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player spoke to Raibaru on Monday morning while Osana was changing her shoes, Osana would not be able to enter her “place bentos on desk” event properly. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player changed the destination of the pink trail to “Rival’s Desk,” it would always lead to the 1st rival’s desk, regardless of the current week. This bug has been fixed.
  • The “Red String of Fate” that connects Senpai and the current rival was present and visible in Mission Mode, floating in midair, connecting nothing. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player dyed Ayano’s hair blonde and then completed Amai’s stealth mission, Ayano’s hair would appear black instead of blonde in the cutscene. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player killed a student and then played the delinquent beat-em-up minigame, the dead student would enter a standing pose (but remain dead). This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player performed a club activity with the Science Club in 1989, Ryoba would appear in the 202X lab coat during the club activity cutscene. This bug has been fixed.
  • When the player handed out snacks for Amai’s Task, the player gained reputation points. That was not intentional! This was an oversight! This mistake has been corrected.
  • The “Now Loading” text that appears when restarting a Mission Mode mission will now use a different font depending on whether the player is in 202X Mode or 1980s Mode.
  • In Custom Mode, if the player tried to design a male student with “Gossip” in their routine, he wouldn’t properly enter a gossiping animation. This bug has been fixed.
  • In 1980s Mode, if the player completed a Task for the leader of the Martial Arts Club, that Task would become available again the next day. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player purchased one of Info-chan’s Services and then reset the week, the game would remember that the service had been purchased. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player got a Low-Reputation Game Over in Custom Mode with a female Senpai, the game would softlock during the game over cutscene. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player alarmed a student before pushing them off of the school roof, they would not be able to enter the “pushed off roof” state. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player entered 1st-person view while standing extremely close to the Journalist, it became possible to clip inside of his body. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Osana’s “stalker house” stealth mission, if the player walked too close to the stalker, the stalker would rotate at weird anngles. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, the task description/icon for the player’s 10 Custom rivals was inaccurate and did not reflect their actual tasks. This bug has been fixed.
  • If Ryoba killed a student, the game would reduce Ryoba’s friend count, even if the dead student was not one of Ryoba’s friends. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player played the Light Music Club minigame and then went to the school gym, some placeholder test models would appear. This bug has been fixed.
  • While Chigusa’s admirers were standing around her in the confession tree area, they would sometimes spin in circles. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player designed a rival in Custom Mode to sunbathe as part of their routine, they would fail to go sunbathe. This bug has been fixed.
  • Previously, the 50kg weight in the gym storage room was not considered a “metal” by the school’s metal detectors. This has been corrected.
  • If the player sent Osana to the guidance counselor, the rest of her scripted events for that day would not occur. This bug has been fixed.
  • Due to a bug, the Cooking Club was not able to carry out their “walk around handing out food to people” routine. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player exited the protagonist’s room and then tried to open the pause menu, the menu wouldn’t open. This bug has been fixed.
  • It was possible for the player to modify a uniform for Kokona before actually accepting Kokona’s Task. This bug has been fixed.
  • It was possible to see a small floating arrow above Kizana’s VHS tape in the 202X Week Select mode. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player disabled bloom and then entered a Mission Mode mission, bloom would re-enable itself. This bug has been fixed.
  • One of Senpai’s hairstyles was not functioning properly, and made him appear bald. This hairstyle has been fixed.
  • Sleuths will no longer investigate mind-broken slaves, since they don’t actually know that they are at school.
  • Removed exploit that allowed the player to use the “Pass Time” feature while holding a corpse in their arms.
  • Fixed bug that let the player edit a student’s name/profile from the student list in the Custom Mode menu.
  • Corrected texture error on the eyelids of the security guards in Amai’s befriend/betray stealth mission.
  • Ryoba’s bust was the incorrect size when she was in town in 1980s Mode. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that allowed the player to fall through the ground during the boss battle in Yanvania.
  • Fixed bug that caused the player’s mouse cursor to become visible during the “dream sequence.”
  • Because killing Senpai can cause bugs, the Void Goddess can no longer be used to kill Senpai.
  • It is no longer possible to leave school while a mind-broken slave is committing murder.
  • In the previous build, Ryuto’s portrait was bugged. This error has been corrected.
  • Fixed bug that prevented student names from displaying in Lovesick Mode.
  • Fixed bugs with Ryoba’s hair physics in the asylum stealth mission.
  • Fixed typo in the school newspaper article about Teiko.
  • Removed debug command from the Nozama menu.
  • Fixed typo in the Mission Mode menu.
  • Fixed typo in Teiko’s diary.

  1. I don’t know if this is a bug (I’m pretty sure it is, however I just wanted to make sure) but whenever I use custom mode, and make one of the females do the graffiti acton and destination (make them do graffiti on the desk of the person with the lowest in the school) on the first day, I normally have to lower someones reputation, which is fine of course, but on the second day, with one of the students reputation lower than others, the one student I made do the graffiti action, they go to the fountain instead. Do I have to use a certain student to do this, or like wait until custom mode is for 2026 mode to use the feature?

      • Hey, Yandere dev! Im a big fan of your work and i absolutely LOVE Yandere simulator! I know you might not even read this, and im sorry if i’m annoying you, but i have a tiny request! I am a big fan of you, and i would absolutely love to be your friend! I’m Sorry if im annoying you, again.

      • It’s very kind of you to offer your friendship. However, I must politely and respectfully decline. There are a lot of people who attempt to earn my trust so that they can trick me, so it’s necessary for me to be very cautious and avoid interacting with people unless it’s for purely professional reasons. I’m sorry if that’s a disappointing thing to hear. But, I do appreciate the offer, it was very nice of you.

  2. Hello Yandev, checking the game page in the characters section I came across Kiyoko Tatsuhara, when trying to search for information about her I discovered that all the online information about her is scarce compared to other characters. Do you have anything to say about this character? Is it still in your plans to put her in the game? When can we see it in action? I hope you can take the time to answer my questions. P.S: it’s a shame you won’t be able to dedicate a little of your time to YouTube :(((( oh and I’m sorry if it’s poorly written, I’m not an English speaker and I have to rely on the translator

  3. Hey yandere dev, hope things are going well with you. I have a couple questions if you don’t mind me asking.

    1. How close is Chikanari heavy industries related to Saikou Corp today?
    2. If she survived, would Ai Doruyashi have become a famous pop star?
    3. Why does Ritsuko sunbathe at the edge of the pool?
    4. Did Ryoba’s sister attend Akademi?
    5. Is Kokona going to play a part in Kizana’s week?
    • 1. Chikanari is still the primary provider of machinery and equipment for Saikou Corp.

      2. Yes; she would have become the world’s first internationally famous Japanese idol.

      3. She just likes it that way.

      4. Nope. She attended a school in Tokyo.

      5. Yep!

      • thank you so much for answering my questions yandere dev!! Hope things go well for the rest of the games development.

  4. honestly, I’m not that surprised Youtube videos are low on the rank. It’s not because we don’t like them – but you asked us about what we wanted for the game. Youtube videos are not a part of the game, so of course we chose things that actually have to do with the game itself.

for the spinoff games: personally, I think everybody just wants the game to end development as soon as possible. Then you’ll have all the time in the world to finish spin off games and other projects.

however, you said it yourself: YouTube videos and other projects are fun. They’re not work, but lucrative. We are fans, of course, but we don’t want to control your life. Sure, we have opinions of what we want in the game, but what you do in your freetime shouldn’t concern us at all! If you want to have fun, do! Don’t ask us for permission to have fun!

anyway, I do hope you end up doing YouTube videos and have fun and NOT spend 15 hours a day on YanSim like last year.

  5. You’ve got it wrong Yandev, at least in my case. I put “Youtube videos” on the down list not because I dislike them, — in fact I love them !! — but because I think now is not the time. I worry about you getting backlash if you post a new video right now. I put it low on the list because this is probably not the priority of all items above, not because I don’t want them.

As for my own vote, here’s my opinion on 3 results :

    • The ability to join the student council – I understand how this prospect appeals to the players but I think that considering the current rival you’re working on, it’s not relevant yet. The student council should rather be an interesting option when you get to harder rivals because using the power of the student council for the first rivals is like shooting a gun to kill a fly. If a weapon is overkill for your arch-enemies the game gets boring; and if you nerf said weapon to implement it early in the game it makes the hype turn into disappointment. I suggest making the ability to join the student council available during the beginning of Asu‘s development. This way players can test the feature, feedback until the second row of rivals comes.
    • Now on the other hand, the ability to join Musume’s bully gang being developed early-on for, say, Oka’s arrival is a logical choice considering this type of rival she is : a low-rep very bully-able rival. The possibility of turning the gyarus against Osana is also an interesting option considering her relationship with them. It adds complexity and world-building (i guess ?). So I personally put it high on the list.
    • More functionality for the protagonist’s home – now this is what I call a priority. Ya gotta make your new assets appealing you know ? It’s a new feature and it can help you put some order on how you get this item or that item. It’s like a glass cupboard where you store your cool daily products. If you buy lots of cool products but have nowhere designed to store them you lose time looking for them or you forget about them entirely. It makes it less appealing to use them. For now, the majority of the house map is useless or non-interactive, basically it’s a decorative cupboard. However because it is Yan-chan’s HQ, I suggest playing around with it : switching some features into the house and practicing small place layout. It’s the villain’s HQ, make it into the most secret home-looking HQ !
    • The logic between improving the protag’s home is actually the same as making All of the store in the town functional. Working on them both at the same time may prove beneficient as you’ll build a reciprocity of functionality between these two.

Anyway I’m glad we both agree that functionality for the home is a priority as you’ve been working on it ! Voters really landed on you the two heaviest implements huh. Wouldn’t it be so time-consuming that there won’t be much updated improvements until you finish them ? Completing Amai features is like the most logical thing to do right now. Dude, do quality improvements until Kizana is almost here. Don’t strictly apply the survey order.

And about Easter-eggs and YT videos… how about making it a tradition in the Inter-Rival period ? It can be a form of celebration of the progress made so far ! When you do a good day of work, you need a reward to keep the spirit up.

  6. I’d say the low votes on spin-offs and youtube videos are simply because people don’t see those items as contributing to the final project, while the other items on the list have more to do with the end goal. No matter how true that is, I am sure that anyone that has been following this project for so many years likely is alright with whatever you choose to prioritize. People see the constant updates being made on the game, and whoever you’d upset with making a youtube video once in a while would find something else to hate on anyway. It is a lot of pressure to handle and people to please, but sometimes it’s good to prioritize whatever you think needs to be done for you to be proud of your work.

  7. I hope that YandereDev can make an official old version mod for use in the new version, such as restoring the hair physics to the game. I am looking forward to the character being able to wear Saki’s hair physics and model before March 31st, 2016. I also want to make my own hair physics before SakiMarch 31st, 2016, but I can’t find the obj file of the Saki hair model.

  8. Hey yandev! I just am coming on here to tell a few ideas of mine for yansim (i know you have a lot to work on for yansim but id just like to share 🙂 so i was thinking with the stink bomb ventilation feature, if you placed it for the counsellors office, she would leave her office and you can go inside there and walk around normally. Many features could be added to her office but one in particular is maybe going on her laptop and tampering with students profiles maybe adding detentions or notes to a students profile to ruin their reputation. This same concept could be added into the headmasters office and he would leave the room aswell. You can already roam his room but one feature could be that he left his taser behind and you could pick it up. This could be a new way to knock out students or even student council. (this could also be implemented as a special way to defeat megami in the 10th week). Anyways, those are my ideas, have an amazing day!

    • Well, it depends on what you mean by “big.”

Some of the features from the survey will be implemented into the game within the next few weeks / months.

New rival? Most likely sometime in the 2nd half of this year.

  9. Hello Yandere Dev I have a question.

The cutscene were Ryoba talks about her next rival is supposed to have 3D pictures, but they are not showing up though I have the latest build.

Is that a bug or something?

  10. yandere dev, in my game, the mouse cursor won’t appear mid game. I think it’s a bug, so I’m reporting it.

    device: windows 10.

    • But the mouse cursor isn’t supposed to show at all.. the mouse is for controlling the camera, the regular ingame gameplay doesn’t require the cursor, you know

      • What do you think about adding a cafeteria to the school? Almost every school I know has one. Considering that Akademi High School is a prestigious post-highschool academy, it would likely have top-notch facilities, including multiple dining options to cater to its students’ diverse needs and tastes.

  11. I was one of the people who put YouTube videos on the lowest ranking, but it’s not because I don’t enjoy them; I do! Sometimes I rewatch old videos because your voice is calming and videos such as the ones about character design or game design inspired me (although I’m not a game developer, just an artist). I put it on the lowest because obviously as a player I’d like to see the exciting features first, but I wouldn’t be upset if you took just a lil more time in-between those updates to make youtube videos about them, I’d love to see them like back in the day! And even if some people were upset, you should sometimes do things you enjoy for the sake of enjoying them. If making youtube videos or making silly games make your life more enjoyable, you should consider it first before trying to please us all.

  12. yandev, in 1980s mode on Ritsuko’s week, I put up the Pool’s Closed sign, and instead of Ritsuko ignoring it, she glitched into a wall by the matchmaking area. (This is on a Wednesday by the way)

  13. personally i love your yt videos, your voice is so calming to listen too and i loved when you explained the game in detail, but i am so happy we will finally be able to be Gyaru i love the style sm, it will be cool to see ayano in so much glam!

  14. logic: why does every students walk on pool like jesus also the protag, shouldn’t they float and the water reach the body of the people, and why does osana and ritsuko die underwater, should the sports hater die too and count as sink?

  15. Hey YandereDev! I’ve noticed that the game freezes after going to class in week 4 onwards, but I tested it, and it only happens in Custom Mode. I’m not sure if it’s the game or if I’m messing up something.

  16. Hey Yanere Dev,  I wanted to say happy birthday!!

I hope you have a good day. Live your life, and thank you for working without rest…but  I think you should rest more… In short, happy birthday☆

And I’m sorry if there’s any mistake in English…

  17. Just found out you and i are both cancers and our birthdays are only 3 days apart so happy birthday :DD also i like this update alot 🙂

  18. Hey, when was the survey??? I never found out 😢 please don’t mind leaving the YouTube videos, I like them

  19. Hi, YandereDev! I have one question.
Yandere Simulator is set in Japan, so why is the currency used in the game the dollar?

    • Read the about page in the official yandere simulator website

“The characters in Yandere Simulator are speaking Japanese, but their words are translated into English for us westerners.

Likewise, they are using Yen as a currency, but the prices are translated into dollars for us westerners.”

  20. I don’t mind seeing more Youtube videos. In fact I welcome it. It’s always good to keep in touch with your fanbase. I hate to be that guy, I really do. But for things like spinoff games, it’ll be a good idea to put it aside at least after the completion of the Yandere Simulator.

I’ve been here since weapons were on floor at the school gates. There are many like me who are still patiently waiting despite all the negativity. I bear no ill will when I say that I just want to see a finished product soon.

Good luck with the development of the game.

  21. Hey Yandev! I have questions about future development I hope this questions make you comfortable to answer it.

    1. Since you said the player could join the student council club before the election of the president of the council occur. Will the process of joining the student council take like 1-3 weeks?
    2. Will you add a feature that makes the player could frame other students/faculties beside rivals for violating school rules until they get expelled?
    3. Do you have desire to make a feature where the player to learn the interest of the rival via their information from their phone beside through a conversation or diary?
    4. Is there any student whom you want to be added in the future beside Kiyoko Tatsuhara?
  22. I have an interesting idea now for when rival Osoro Shidesu’s turn comes.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REPdu8Z3b94

Ayano could challenge Osoro to a fight. If Osoro lost, she would have to keep her promise to give up on Senpai. However, it would be extremely difficult to defeat her, requiring extensive martial arts training. It would be an interesting method of elimination.

    • I would love to comment on your suggestion, but I don’t want to say too much about my plans for future rival weeks, because I don’t want to spoil the surprises that I have planned. I’m sorry!

      • I envision the scene between Ayano and Osoro as follows

Osoro, with her posture of an invincible delinquent, had invited Ayano for a confrontation outside the academy. The chosen location was an abandoned lot, an isolated space where delinquents often gathered to watch fights. Surrounded by abandoned buildings and illuminated only by a solitary streetlamp, the lot was perfect for the showdown.

Ayano was surrounded by a crowd of delinquents, all watching with anticipation. Whispers and murmurs ran through the crowd, bets were placed on the outcome of the fight. In the center, Osoro awaited, her eyes fixed on her adversary. Her presence was intimidating, and her confidence seemed unshakable.

Ayano knew that the fight against Osoro would not be easy. Her opponent was known for her strength and skill. To have any chance of victory, Ayano would need to be in peak physical condition. For weeks, she had trained intensively in Budo Masuta’s martial arts club, progressing from novice to master. Every move, every technique learned would be crucial in facing Osoro.

Before the main confrontation, Osoro decided to test Ayano’s strength. She sent some of her men to face her first. Ayano, with sharp reflexes and precise techniques, defeated them one by one, proving to be a worthy opponent. The crowd fell silent, impressed by Ayano’s skill and determination.

Finally, the moment arrived. Osoro advanced to the center of the lot, her blows quick and powerful. Ayano dodged and counterattacked, the fight demanding the utmost of her reflexes and the player’s skill on the joystick. Every move was vital, every mistake could be fatal.

What Osoro didn’t know was that Ayano had a hidden ace: brass knuckles disguised. With them, her punches gained brutal and unexpected force. As she fought, Ayano knew she had a difficult choice ahead. If she managed to defeat Osoro, she could spare her, demanding that she give up on Senpai as a condition for her mercy. However, a darker possibility crossed her mind: to beat Osoro to death, completely eliminating the threat she posed.

If Ayano lost, it would be game over, and all her efforts would have been in vain. The fight was intense, each of Osoro’s blows was heavy and threatening, but Ayano was prepared. With determination, skill, and a bit of luck, Ayano could emerge victorious, securing her position.

  23. Hello Yandere Dev! It really saddens me to see “upload videos again” so far down the list, although don’t think it’s because we don’t enjoy them, I guess it’s because people are more interested in you finishing the game and not spending your time making videos, which I see it as understandable, but somewhat unfair. I also don’t understand why the topic of a new basement tape is not among the first, it is the most important thing to understand the lore of YS. Anyway, I love the idea that you’re working on joining the student council and the bully group. Thank you very much for taking your time in the game, the important thing is to be patient, since I understand that it is difficult to develop something as big as YS. Have a nice day!

  24. hello im unaware if this is a bug of some sorts but whenever i try to go to customize mode in 1980s mode it wont ever work? it sends me to where you can either make the game harder or easier (i dont know how to describe it) yet i cant access the customization at all ive looked at settings but nothing so idk whats going on

  25. I thought it would be interesting to suggest some new mechanics for the game. I noticed that Yandere-chan has the ability to run for long hours without getting tired, even surpassing the speed of the track club members, which is curious considering how much they train.

First suggestion would be to limit Yandere’s running time and speed at the beginning of the game, allowing these attributes to be improved as she advances in strength and endurance.

Additionally, how about adding a gym in Buraza Town? Yandere could go there after school to work out, strengthening her muscles, increasing her running time and speed. The knowledge she acquires in physical education classes could directly influence her performance at the gym. If her knowledge is low, it would take her longer to learn how to use the equipment. With higher knowledge, she would exercise more efficiently and quickly.

To add more depth, Yandere-chan could also join the track club or the martial arts club. Joining the track club would help her develop her endurance, improve her speed, and running time, while the martial arts club would teach her fighting techniques, making her stronger and more skilled in combat.

Regarding the gym, it could have a membership fee of 1000 yen. Paying this fee would allow Yandere to develop her physical conditioning more quickly. As she physically evolves, her body would visibly change, becoming stronger and more muscular. This physical development would not only improve her abilities in the game but also allow her to intimidate some students, giving her a strategic advantage in certain situations.

Additionally, she would need to manage her time effectively, returning home before starting her part-time job, ensuring that her actions do not interfere with other tasks and responsibilities.

    In summary:

1- In physical education classes, Yandere-chan would learn the fundamentals of physical conditioning, including basic exercise techniques and theoretical knowledge that would allow for more efficient training elsewhere.

2- Joining the track club would allow Yandere-chan to improve her endurance, speed, and running time. This club is ideal for those who want to gain physical strength, running time, and speed, which are essential for chases and escapes in the game.

3- If the goal is to learn how to fight and defend herself, the martial arts club is the right choice. In the martial arts club, Yandere-chan learns combat techniques that make her more efficient in hand-to-hand fights. These skills can be used to confront the leader of the delinquents (one of the rivals in the game) and to eliminate targets more easily.

4- The gym in Buraza Town would offer an environment where Yandere-chan can train intensively, paying a membership fee of 1000 yen. Training at the gym accelerates her physical development, making her visibly stronger. With a more muscular body, she could intimidate other students and increase her chances of befriending delinquents.

    1. Hey yandere dev, I was just playing mission mode in ayanos mode (sorry i forgot the name) and i was fighting with a delinquent and the gym teacher started running towards me. I got a “mission failed” screen and it said it was because I was witnessed commiting murder even though i did not kill anyone in the game yet.

    2. HAPPY ADVANCE BIRTHDAY YANDERE DEV

Also a question: what was raibaru peeking at week 2? the club, or the members? because i see her peek at nothing but inside the club full with no members inside if they are at the zen gardens, this a bug or something?

    3. Some ideas about Megami:

Megami Tensei is the toughest rival Ayano could face, especially because she knows Ayano’s family history and understands how the Yandere curse works.

With an IQ of 140, Megami possesses an almost supernatural intuition that allows her to predict Ayano’s movements with terrifying accuracy, almost as if she could see the future. If the player set a trap, Megami would quickly identify it and, using her genius, warn the other students to stay away until she found a way to disarm it.

From the moment Megami stepped into the school, her presence would be felt. She would be there to protect Senpai and ensure the safety of the other students, transforming into a true impenetrable guardian. Her hostility would be evident, and Ayano would feel the constant pressure of having someone so formidable against her.

Megami would be extremely cautious, leaving no gaps for Ayano to exploit. Ayano’s poisoning techniques would be useless, as Megami would take every precaution, from avoiding dubious foods and drinks to always being vigilant against any contamination attempts.

Additionally, Megami would be a master of self-defense. Her skills would be so advanced that any surprise attack from Ayano would be promptly neutralized. Megami wouldn’t be fooled by distractions like noises or objects left on the ground, ignoring these traps and always keeping her guard up, especially if Ayano was nearby.

Capable of predicting Ayano’s movements, Megami would set precise and manipulative traps. Using her superior intelligence, she would create her own traps, not with the intention to kill, but to expose Ayano in front of everyone. Megami would reveal Ayano’s intentions to the other students or the school authorities. Her leadership and charisma would align everyone to her cause, making Ayano’s life even more difficult.

The situation would worsen with a series of disappearances and murders at the school. The atmosphere would become tense, and the students would start to suspect each other. In this environment of fear and distrust, Megami would become even more vigilant and hostile towards Ayano. Knowing Ayano’s family history and understanding what the Yandere curse is capable of, Megami would have an even stronger reason to suspect her.

Using her investigative skills, Megami would start to notice that Ayano was frequently present near the incidents. Although the evidence wouldn’t be concrete, Ayano’s frequent presence at the crime scenes would raise significant suspicions. With her leadership skills, Megami would gather the students and share her suspicions, painting Ayano as the main responsible for the disappearances and murders. Megami’s influence over the other students would be so great that many would start to avoid Ayano, treating her as a pariah.

Determined to uncover the truth, Megami would deepen her investigations and trace the source of Ayano’s privileged information back to Info-chan. Connecting the dots, she would realize that Ayano and Info-chan were secretly collaborating. One night, Megami would invade Info-chan’s room and find incriminating evidence: messages exchanged between Ayano and Info-chan, detailed plans, and even recorded conversations.

The next day, Ayano would arrive at school confident, only to find Megami and the principal waiting for her at the entrance. The exposure of the incriminating evidence would leave Ayano speechless, while the other students watched in shock and admiration at Megami’s cunning. This revelation would not only destabilize Ayano but also solidify Megami’s position as the unbeatable rival who turned the school into her domain.

Megami would only lower her guard if, in the following nine weeks, there were no mysterious deaths or disappearances. Otherwise, it would be nearly impossible to eliminate her by conventional methods, as Ayano would be dealing with a genius girl, always alert and prepared for any situation. Additionally, Megami would act almost like a detective or investigator, anticipating Ayano’s traps and trying to lure her into her own, using her cunning to catch Ayano red-handed and dismantle any plan before it could even be executed.

      (Happy early birthday)

      • I’m not sure if this is what you mean, but from what I understood, yes, YandereDev does have a update schedule. You can notice he usually updates the 1st and 15th of every month and I’m pretty sure he said this in a January blog post. Though sometimes he updates in between those days (mostly if a big feature was added.) I hope this helped!

    4. BUg TimE

in week 2, raibaru will look at the martial arts club, whether they go to the zen gardens, she still peek inside the club without people in it 😐

if you teleport student in the pool barrier with ancient evil ,or posemod, they would walk above the water, except for sports club who had a swimming routine, can they float normally or have a swim emote or make them sink/drown underwater on student that hates sports? 😐

      • Ugh, stop writing about the same “bug” with the pool. You do this through the debug menu, it WILL NOT BE in the final version of the game! Therefore, no one will fix bugs in the debug menu.

        • I do not think that is true, any bug in the game will be fixed, like this debug command Removed the “Tap the S key to lower prisoner’s sanity” debug command. from the October 2015 build, even this If the player tried to make a character perform an animation using Pose Mode, the game would soft-lock. This bug has been fixed. and this Because the button for dumping water was changed (it became the “Q” key instead of the “E” key) some of the text in Kokona’s tutorial became outdated. This text has been updated to accurately describe the new water-dumping controls. and this Even though the player can’t open the Schemes menu in Week 2, pressing the “E” key over the Schemes option would still change the button prompts at the bottom of the screen. This bug has been fixed. and this In Amai’s stealth mission, if the player mashed the “A” button to instruct the protagonist to climb, the climbing animation would restart each time the player pressed the “A” button. This bug has been fixed. and this A debug command was left in the game that caused students to teleport if the player pressed the “Z” key during Yakuza Mode. This bug has been fixed. and this The criteria for the player to attack Raibaru is raising their Physical Education stat to at least Level 1. However, if the player raised their PE stat using the Gaming Club, specifically, it wouldn’t count. This bug has been fixed. and this A debug command was left in the game that allowed you to increment Senpai’s “Curiosity in his secret admirer” by pressing the “Z” key. This bug has been fixed. and this Due to a bug, it became impossible to exit Cinematic Camera Mode. This bug has been fixed. and fixed a bug that would cause a character to load a completely incorrect appearance if the Save/Load pose feature was used on a teacher, student council member, or bully.

      • I’ll fix the Raibaru bug in the next build.

However, the teleport “bug” is absolutely not valid. You used a debug command to teleport a student somewhere that they would normally never be. The bug is your fault.

    5. It also saddens me that YouTube videos are in the last place. I enjoy watching the videos. You don’t have to spend most of your time thinking about the game. After all, you have your own life too. I wish they thought people could be upset. Don’t get discouraged. After all, coding and designing games is not an easy thing. Don’t worry, I think most people who didn’t vote in the survey love your videos. Good luck !

    6. Hi Yandev! I was wondering if this was a bug or an actual part of the game due to the fact I haven’t seen anyone talk about it. Raibaru, when separated from Osana (I don’t remember if it’s on the second week or just when Osana and her are split) she will stalk the martial arts room. If this isn’t a bug, will there ever be a feature to get Raibaru to rejoin the club? Also, if you get rid of a rival in a non-violent way, will you ever make it that the rival will still talk to Taro?

      (And happy early b-day!)

    7. An interesting idea for the game would be the introduction of a news website accessible through Yandere-chan’s phone. This site would provide valuable information about what’s happening in the city and how the school is dealing with the mysterious deaths and disappearances of students. Yandere-chan could access the news site at any time via her phone, computer at home, or the school’s computer lab, except during activities that require full concentration, like classes or direct confrontations.

The interface would be simple and intuitive, with headlines, articles, and featured videos. There would be specific sections for local news, school news, and general interest topics. Headlines might include topics like “Student Disappearances Increase Concern,” “School Principal Talks About Security Measures,” and “Investigations Continue with No Leads.” The articles would detail recent events, providing subtle clues that Yandere-chan could use in her strategies. Some articles might include statements from teachers, classmates, and even interviews with concerned parents.

The site would have a video section where Yandere-chan could watch interviews with the school principal, members of the student council, and other personalities involved in the case. These interviews could reveal important information about the investigations, additional security measures, and rumors circulating around the school. A comments and forums section would allow fictional characters to post their opinions and theories about the events. Yandere-chan could use this information to better understand the suspicions and concerns of other students.

Yandere-chan would receive real-time notifications on her phone about important news, such as the discovery of bodies or reinforced security measures at school. These notifications would help keep the player informed and adjust their strategies as needed.

Access to the news would allow Yandere-chan to make more informed decisions about when and how to act, avoiding risky areas or taking advantage of distractions. The news would reflect Yandere-chan’s actions, showing how her activities affect public perception and the school’s response. This would add a layer of realism and immersion to the game, making the player’s actions have tangible consequences in the game world.

As the notoriety of the disappearances increases, the school could implement new security measures based on the news, such as more frequent patrols or the installation of additional cameras. Yandere-chan would need to adapt her strategies to deal with these new challenges, making the game more dynamic and unpredictable.

Another interesting idea would be to replace the photography club with a journalism club at the school. This club would add a new layer of interaction and complexity to the game, allowing Yandere-chan to closely follow the school’s investigations and gossip. The journalism club would consist of students dedicated to investigating and reporting on school events. They would have privileged access to information and be responsible for keeping the news site updated.

Yandere-chan could access the news site through her phone at any time, except during activities that require full concentration, like classes or direct confrontations. The content would be frequently updated by the journalism club. The news site’s interface would be simple and intuitive, with headlines, articles, and featured videos. There would be specific sections for local news, school news, and general interest topics, all maintained by the journalism club.

Headlines could include topics like “Student Disappearances Increase Concern,” “School Principal Talks About Security Measures,” and “Investigations Continue with No Leads.” The articles would detail recent events, providing subtle clues that Yandere-chan could use in her strategies. Some articles might include statements from teachers, classmates, and even interviews with concerned parents.

The site would have a video section where Yandere-chan could watch interviews conducted by the journalism club with the school principal, members of the student council, and other personalities involved in the cases.

These notifications would help keep her informed and adjust her strategies as needed.

Yandere-chan could interact with the members of the journalism club to obtain information, divert suspicions, or even manipulate the news to her advantage. She could influence the journalists to publish or omit certain articles, creating a network of manipulation and information control.

The introduction of a news site and the replacement of the photography club with the journalism club would enrich the gaming experience, providing crucial information and creating a sense of immersion and realism. This would encourage players to stay alert to changes in the environment and adjust their strategies according to new information, making the game more dynamic and engaging. Interaction with the journalism club would open up new possibilities for manipulation and control, increasing the game’s complexity and depth.

Moreover, the journalism club would justify the behavior of its members acting as detectives when deaths and disappearances occur around the school, being a more coherent replacement than the photography club. Both work with photos, but journalism goes further, investigating and reporting events. The news could also give the player the impression that the world of Yandere Simulator is truly alive, and inform them about what important characters like Megami Saiko are doing even before they arrive at school.

      • I intentionally repeated the text. In one version, the journalism club is not present at the school; in the other, the club is active and demonstrates how it can influence the entire school atmosphere, serving as the main information network.

        • If there is already a journalism club at Ayano’s school (with Info-chan as the only member), the photography club could change its name to the Mystery Solvers Club. This club would be formed by students dedicated to uncovering enigmas and solving real mysteries within the school. The club members apply critical thinking, logic, and problem-solving skills to investigate and solve intriguing cases. With the school at peace at the beginning of the game, the members don’t have much to do, so they tend to stay relaxed, enjoying their free time to have fun and socialize.

    8. yandere dev, why we cant craft bodybags? I mean, i have masking tape and garbage bags, and when im going to workshop, it doesnt say “craft bodybags”, it still says “workshop” and i cant craft it, why is it like this??

      • You’ll have to enable the “Garbage bags must be crafter into bodybags” difficulty when you’re starting a save file

    9. Something I find funny is that when Yandere-chan reaches the peak of her physical fitness, she can not only carry 50 kilos with ease but also run a marathon while holding that weight.

I understand it’s for gameplay reasons, but carrying 50 kilos and running with it in your hands is no simple task. I think it would be more realistic if Yandere-chan showed signs of effort when lifting that weight, with her body trembling and her facial expression revealing the muscular tension. Additionally, she wouldn’t be able to run; her movements should become visibly slower and heavier, with dragged steps and labored breathing, reflecting the strenuous effort of carrying such a heavy load.

Another interesting idea is that, when Yandere-chan reaches the peak of her physical fitness, her body could transform, becoming stronger and more robust, similar to Osoro Shidesu. This would make it more convincing when she starts lifting heavier objects.

Additionally, it would be interesting to limit her running time at the beginning of the game because, even without any training, she can run all day without showing fatigue and even outpaces any member of the track club with ease. I understand this is for gameplay reasons, but it would be more realistic if she were more limited at the start of the game. Only when she reaches the peak of her physical fitness would she begin to show all that enviable physical endurance.

Since the game spans 10 weeks, some players could easily reach peak physical fitness in a week. It would be interesting if this couldn’t be done during classroom lessons. The only way Ayano could strengthen herself would be by participating in all the activities of the track club. She would start in the club as a novice and progress to become a veteran. Her strength and endurance would follow this evolution as she advanced in training.

In the beginning, Ayano wouldn’t know how to fight and could be easily defeated by any student. Therefore, joining the martial arts club would give her the advantage of defending herself against any threat. In other words, while the track club would increase her physical strength and endurance, allowing her to increase both her speed and running time, as well as lift and drag heavier objects, the martial arts club would teach her to fight, increasing her chances of self-defense and avoiding capture.

As Yandere-chan progressed in martial arts training, she would learn new combat moves, which would become increasingly complex as she reached higher levels. In the track club, she would start with basic running and strengthening exercises, facing progressively more difficult challenges. Over time, her ability to run long distances without tiring and her ability to carry and move heavy objects would significantly increase.

In the martial arts club, Ayano would begin learning basic self-defense techniques, such as blocking and dodging, before advancing to more offensive attacks and combat strategies. Upon reaching more advanced levels, she would be able to perform combinations of strikes, disarm opponents, and even use submission techniques. This combination of physical activities and combat training would make Yandere-chan an extremely versatile and capable character, reflecting her progress in both physical strength and fighting skills.

This way, players would have a more realistic and challenging experience, needing to invest time and effort to fully develop Ayano’s capabilities. This would make the game more engaging and rewarding, as they see the gradual and substantial growth of the character.

Instead of learning physical education in the classroom, Yandere-chan could benefit from subjects like Computer Science and Physics.

      • Implementing a stamina bar in the game would bring more realism and challenge to the gameplay. This bar would indicate the amount of energy Yandere-chan has for strenuous activities like running and lifting heavy objects.

When Yandere-chan runs, the stamina bar starts to decrease. At the beginning of the game, her running capacity is limited, and the bar depletes quickly. As she gets stronger, the stamina bar depletes more slowly, allowing her to run for longer periods.

Lifting and carrying heavy objects also consumes stamina. Initially, lifting heavy objects drains the bar rapidly, but with training, she can lift and carry heavier weights without tiring as quickly.

Stamina regenerates automatically when Yandere-chan is at rest. The stronger and more resilient she becomes, the faster the stamina bar regenerates. Managing stamina adds a strategic layer to the game, forcing players to plan their actions and consider moments of rest to ensure Yandere-chan is always ready to act.

The Computer Science class allows Yandere-chan to learn how to hack and disable surveillance cameras, metal detectors, and other security systems in the school.

Over time, she can perform these actions more quickly and efficiently, allowing her to avoid detection while moving through the school or carrying out assassinations. These skills are particularly useful when the school’s atmosphere is low.

Learning martial arts and various fighting techniques will be extremely useful in the game, not only for self-defense but also for facing powerful rivals who know how to fight, such as Asu Rito, Osoro, and Megami.

        • I’m sorry…I really dislike the stamina concept. Yandere Sim simply isn’t that type of game.

After 10 years of actions not being locked behind stamina, the addition of a stamina system would probably just piss off many players.

        • I understand, thank you for responding. The game remains fun even without these features. The intention was to add more realism. What do you think about the idea of allowing Yandere-chan to access news on her cellphone about everything happening in her world?

        • It could be an app on the cellphone where college students leave messages sharing their thoughts about the school. These messages would be updated according to Yandere-chan’s actions in the game.

I think this could further enrich the game’s lore, as events not directly seen by the player could be explained through these texts. Additionally, the app could include rumors, gossip, and discussions about recent events, creating an information network that makes the game world more dynamic and immersive.

I know that there’s something similar on Yandere-chan’s computer, but nowadays almost everyone uses cellphones, so it would be interesting to transfer this functionality there. This would make the experience more modern and accessible for players.

Additionally, the portability of the cellphone would allow Yandere-chan to check messages anywhere, anytime, adding an extra layer of realism and immersion to the game.

Unless, of course, this functionality already exists and I just haven’t noticed. Haha.

Some games, especially RPGs, often adopt this approach: incorporating most of the story into in-game texts so that players can understand what is happening in the game world.

In other words, they take all the lore-related content that would typically be scattered across sites like Wikipedia and integrate it into texts accessible during gameplay.

This is especially useful for players who prefer not to leave the game to seek information, allowing them to stay immersed in the narrative and learn about the story, characters, and events without interrupting the gaming experience.

    10. Hi dev! Idea for the game that wouldn’t be too complex. When gossiping about a student, I think the dialogue should be a tad different.

Right now, the dialogue says, “Hey, did you hear that (students) likes/dislikes (activity)?” (or something like that. However, I think ayano should start rumors.

For example, if Ayano says Raibaru Fumetsu likes violence, she should say, “Hey, did you hear that Raibaru Fumetsu choked someone in class?” If Ayano says Akane Toriyasu dislikes science, she should say, “Hey, did you hear that Akane posts anti-vaccine messages on Kaobook?”. If Ayano says that Kokuma Jutsu likes the occult, she could say “Hey, did you hear that Kokuma killed a cat to compelte a seance?” These would explain the more significant reputation drops and makes Ayano more heartless (and also, some of them could be sort of funny and get big reactions out of youtubers/tiktokers).

This would only require 50 new sentences (a like/dislike for each topic). However, you already have a framework for this in the current code. This would take, at most, a day to implement.

      • I understand the concept, and I do think that it would be better than the current gossip gameplay. However, I would want it to work a little bit differently than how you’ve described.

I think that the player should be required to find (or forge) evidence that supports the gossip they want to perform. For example, if you want to make the claim that Akane hates science, you’d need to learn Akane’s username, then do a search for that username on social media, then screenshot her making anti-vaccine messages in order to be able to make that type of gossip.

However, implementing a social media feature would be pretty time-consuming…

    11. “After 10 years of actions not being locked behind stamina, the addition of a stamina system would probably just piss off many players.”

I understand your point of view and respect your opinion on the stamina concept, YandereDev. However, I believe this can be resolved as follows: this option could be enabled or disabled in the game settings. By default, this feature would be disabled.

If the player wants more challenge and realism, they could simply enable it.

Another idea would be to implement difficulty modes: easy, normal, and hard, as in most games. In hard mode, Yandere-chan would be physically weaker and more limited, needing to exert more effort to achieve her goals. She wouldn’t be able to run for long, as she would get tired quickly.

The students would be more alert and smart, with improved AI, making the gameplay more challenging. This option could be enabled or disabled in the game settings, allowing each player to adjust the difficulty according to their preferences, enriching the overall game experience.

This allows each player to choose their preferred experience, satisfying both those who want more of a challenge and those who like the game as it currently is.

The easy mode would be ideal for players who enjoy feeling invincible and causing chaos at the school without significant restrictions. In this mode, Yandere-chan would have more physical stamina, enhanced abilities, and the students would be less alert, allowing the player to explore their strategies and actions with more freedom and fewer challenges.

Remember that all these details can be adjusted in the game settings to suit any player. They don’t necessarily have to choose between the easy, normal, or hard modes, which are predefined settings. Instead, the player can customize each aspect of the difficulty, adjusting parameters as they see fit.

      • After reflecting a bit, I conclude that it makes more sense to focus initially on the core of the game and leave other improvements and additional features for later. Otherwise, the game will take decades to be officially released. =)

First, it is essential to focus on adding all of Ayano’s rivals to the game. Once they are all implemented (don’t worry about fixing bugs), you can concentrate on including the most requested features from players through updates and fixing all the bugs that were left behind. This way, you optimize development time, ensure a solid content base, and can address the community’s desires gradually and in an organized manner.

In other words, add all the rivals to the game and leave the bugs aside for now. After all of them are implemented, you can focus on fixing the bugs and then addressing the community’s requests. Even with all the rivals implemented, the game will still be far from completely ready, but players will have the pleasure of facing all the rivals, providing a significant experience.

(The best part is that they will stop pressuring and annoying YandereDev). =)

With the most important part of the work completed, you will feel more relieved to work on the bugs and improvements.

It’s the approach of launching the game with the main content complete and then just fixing the bugs and adding new features with updates over time.
