Update coming soon!

I’ve spent the past two weeks focusing on three different tasks: making progress towards adding Osana to the game, attempting to improve the game’s framerate, and adding a new mode to the game. I am presently making a video about everything I accomplished over the past two weeks. This video is going to be pretty long; it might wind up being about 15 minutes in length. I’d love to have it ready within 27 hours of this blog post, but it might take longer than that. Hopefully, it won’t take very long!

For every day that the next build is delayed, I’ll try to share something cool with you guys. Here’s what I have for you today: It’s a batch of rival artwork that was created by an artist named Joakim Waller. He’s same artist who drew the very first promotional illustrations for Yandere Simulator!

Click this image to view a gallery of the rival illustrations he drew for me:

The last time I spoke with Joakim, I was asking for a few revisions to the artwork – stockings for Osana, a different color scheme for Amai, different hair color for Megami – but, sadly, one day I just stopped hearing responses from him. The rival illustrations were very, very important to me, and I didn’t feel comfortable using the artwork while it still needed those revisions, so I began speaking to other artists instead, and eventually settled on this talented gentleman.

If the next video still isn’t ready within 23 hours, I’ll reveal more “never before seen production artwork” again tomorrow.

Thank you for following the development of Yandere Simulator!

  1. I honestly almost adore the artwork here more than that in the rival introduction video. Not that I dislike what’s in the video, but this style seems to fit the game’s ‘girly anime’ (I use the term loosely) tone more and really get across the characters’ personalities.

    • maybe the problem is that this pictures here are too cute for a dark game like “Love Sick”.
Don’t forget it’s a game where you kill people and (even if I agree they are realy cool) I don’t think kawai pictures are appropriate to a yandere univers.

      • I disagree. Cute illustrations for the rivals actually work very well, especially since the main character is SUPPOSED to be a Yandere. The official artwork for them makes it look like a hentai game, not murder/stealth-based.
(Kjech is a great artist, no offense to him. If you check out his DA, his gallery is full of awesome pieces)

  2. I loveeed that guy draws. They’re so cute, but not too cute 🙂 I wonder why senpai’s sister uses that very short skirt.
oh Amai’s socks… I prefered the green one 😦 Green fits very well with pink, now she is too pink (despite the fact that the kitchen is so pink).
I just don’t liked the waist. It is very thin that scared me a bit.

  3. I love Magami socks. Oka ruto ia using a star in the head. I love it!
I hope you change the accesorie of the drama club. The beard isn’t cool at all! Maybe they should change clothes and put black confortable clothes and the item could be a brooch of the very known comedy and drama masks.

    • It’s not a beard. It’s a ruffled cravat. Ib also seems to wear one, but it looks better on her because it’s tied around her shirt collar instead. I think the same should be done for Yan-chan to make it look cuter.

      • Omg. The whole time I was seing the ruffled cravat as a gray beard. (Do I have problems?) I’ve never seen someone using ruffled cravat, I had to search to find out what’s supposed to be this (English isn’t my native language…).
Well, I didn’t understand the other phrases you wrote, it’s confusing.

    • don’t be silly, that won’t take so long 😉
First of all, he said 23 houres.
Then, big delays, like befriend update or rival, are realy rare and, in both cases, are caused by needed suply which don’t come or some spoiled info, I don’t think we are in one of these cases.

so maybe we’ll have the update in 3 day’s in the worst case, but not longer 🙂

  4. I’m curious as to why the original artist decided to lose contact with you, Devpai. But, with or without jowa, there will still be a Yandere Simulator. In all honesty I like the newer drawings better, for they are more properly proportioned for Highschool girls(also, maybe there should be drawings of the girls in the other uniforms, just for good measure)

  5. Between this and the used art, I think I like the used art a smidgeon more. But mostly because the used art makes them look more age-appropriate. I mean, Osana and such ARE supposed to be 3rd years – meaning 17/18 – and in this drawing, Osana looks more… 14/15, more appropriate of Hanako’s age. Nonetheless those are pretty cool drawings.
I am trying to do some YanSim fanart myself, but I want to use a different type of uniform – either leaned towards what YanDev showed in May or other.

As always, take your time with the update. Better late and good quality than some hurried mess that requires more work to fix.

  6. wait what? didn’t you say that you wont upload any more builds until you’ve finished implement Osana into the game?

      • if u read the blog post it says For every day that the next build is delayed, I’ll try to share something cool with you guys. • he doesn’t say he will make a new build, he says he will show the progress he has made during 2 weeks … or mayby there will be a new build but Osana won’t be there. (the last update with Kokona)

      • In the video, he was say THAT when Osana will add in game , he stopped update during at least on month ” but he want improve game before, and maybe add “pose mode” for that we can we entertain us during the wait (sorry for my English, I’m French).

  7. Aw, so sad Joakim stopped answering you. Well, maybe something happened. I’m pretty happy for the ilustrations provided by kjech, though! I like his style.

  8. Oh no…This style is too lolitic. And every character’s face looks like the same. Please don’t go loli style. The current is better because of the anotomy. And looks more like highschool girls.Say no to elementary school girls!

  9. In my honest opinion, I think these jowa characters are cute, but too cute or YandereSim, and they all are styled like middle-school characters, the newer ones are more like teens and adults. I don’t mean to be rude, but honestly I think Joakim’s art doesn’t fit with the theme of the game. Just my opinion. Kjech’s doesn’t really look like hentai, other than the substitute teacher and nurse of course.

Whose do you like better? JoWa’s or Kjech’s?

  10. Yanderedev Yanderedev…
Because you changed the hair of kisana if it was more beautiful as it was and the one that is now I do not say that it is ugly but I like more that it has the image that you show

  11. YandereDev YandereDev…
Because you chose the purple color for Kisana’s hair and the White for Megami and not the black one and because you changed your mind about Amai’s pink calsetines
