July 13th Bug-Fixing Build

Ack! I made a dumb mistake in the last build that resulted in the crafting workbench becoming inaccessible. I’m so sorry about that! Here’s a new build with that problem resolved, along with several other issues addressed, as well.

Improvements

As you probably know by now, the visuals of the title screen change based on how Osana was eliminated. (For example, if you make her commit suicide, you will see her hanging from a tree branch at the title screen.)

Originally, the game’s only method for crushing someone to death was dropping a bucket full of heavy weights on someone’s head. So, if you had eliminated Osana by crushing her, you would see her at the title screen with her head crushed by a bucket of weights.

However, the “bucket full of weights” elimination method was recently removed from the game, and replaced with two new methods: dropping an air conditioner unit or a heavy weight onto someone’s head. To reflect this, the visual for “Osana was eliminated by being crushed to death” has been updated to feature a heavy weight rather than a bucket full of weights.

Fixes

  • All of Chigusa’s simps – I mean, followers – would immediately stop following her as soon as her “talk with Senpai after school” event began. This was not intended (they were meant to stop following her after the event ended). This bug has been fixed.
  • When using the “Toggle Outlines” feature, many of Ayano’s hair models would not lose their outlines. This bug has been fixed. All of Ayano’s hairstyles – including her “loose hair” and Ryoba’s “loose hair” – should now be able to lose their outlines.
  • If the player dropped the stethoscope and a student picked it up and tried to return it to its proper place, the student would walk into the infirmary and then spin in circles. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a student became alarmed by the player immediately after being alarmed by a radio, the student would slide across the ground while performing a “confused” animation. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player gave Senpai a unique hair color (anything other than the default color) that hair color would not be accurately reflected in his student profile portrait. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player arranged a meeting with a student and saved while the student was at the meeting spot, that student would forget about the meeting upon reloading. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player checked the Senpai Shrine in 1980s Mode, Senpai’s portrait would use the 202X gradient background instead of the 1980s gradient background. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player chose Otohiko as their target for Mission Mode, the player would get an instant game over upon entering the school environment. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player chose Haruto’s hairstyle for Senpai, Senpai’s hair would appear the wrong color in the Kokona tutorial cutscene. This bug has been fixed.
  • Senpai was not attending Chigusa’s after-school events because he was running the “simp for Chigusa” code at that time of day. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player saved, killed their rival, then loaded, the game would consider the rival to be eliminated. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player checked the Senpai Shrine at nighttime, the tree behind Senpai would be solid black. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that created an invisible wall in the Sewing Room and prevented the player from being able to interact with the crafting bench.

  3. didn’t wanna bother you with sending a WHOLE email about this but, can you make it so that we can select what save file we wanna use for mission mode? bc I hate it when It automatically uses up the first save file that I have saved for the rest of the game (bc I already eliminated Osana on it)

    I wanted to take a moment to discuss a gameplay feature in Yandere Simulator that I find frustrating and believe could benefit from some improvements. Specifically, I’m referring to the current behavior of Ayano when someone is attempting to apprehend the player. This limitation can be especially frustrating when we don’t have a small weapon in our hands to defend ourselves It can be quite annoying and detrimental to the gameplay experience when Ayano simply stays in her place, leading to an automatic game over.

    I’d like to propose the reintroduction of the ability for Ayano to run away from pursuers. This feature would add an element of excitement and strategy to the game, allowing players to actively evade capture rather than passively waiting for their demise. It would provide more opportunities for dynamic gameplay and create tense situations where the player must use their wits to outmaneuver their pursuers.

    Additionally, I believe it would be interesting to incorporate a hiding mechanic. After committing a murder, the player could have the option to hide and the witness would actively search for Ayano. This would add a layer of suspense as the player attempts to evade detection and deal with the consequences of their actions. It could even lead to a unique gameplay dynamic where the witness continues to keep an eye on Ayano the next day, heightening the sense of tension and creating a sense of cat-and-mouse gameplay.

    By implementing these features, Yandere Simulator would become more engaging and immersive, allowing players to truly embody the role of a stealthy and cunning protagonist. It would add depth to the gameplay mechanics and provide a greater sense of agency, ultimately enhancing the overall experience.

    I understand that game development is a complex and challenging process, and these suggestions may require significant effort to implement. However, I genuinely believe that these additions would greatly benefit the game and enhance the enjoyment for players. I hope you consider these suggestions and explore the possibility of incorporating them into Yandere Simulator.

    • No. It doesn’t work.

      Yandere Sim isn’t like Hitman, where you go to a place full of strangers, commit murder, and then never return.

      Yandere Sim takes place in a setting where everyone knows your name and face, and you have to return the next day. A teacher won’t just say “Oh shucks, that murderer Aishi got away!” and continue teaching you math the next day.

      Freezing in place to confront pursuers is mandatory. Escaping school – when an authority figure in a position of power knows you’re a murderer – is not an option.

        This is just a simple idea:

        if an authority figure chases you, you would have a limited time to escape and kill him.
        If you don’t kill him, then he’ll either tell the other teachers or the police, and it’ll just be a game over.

        This would give more opportunities to succeed, and it would certainly be less frustrating, while respecting your vision of the game.

        Have you ever thought about making a similar system? ^^

  5. yan dev its been a while since this but when a deliquent sees us attacking somebody and we won the minigame they are dropping their weapon and runing out of school. is it supposed to be like that? didnt they supposed to attack us until we didn’t kill them?

  6. In the 1980s Mode, there is a problem with Jokichi Yudasei/Senpai’s portrait. Instead of his head, it shows the room HUD when you try to exit it. And i verified the StreamingAssets folder, it’s also like that in it.

  7. hey if a student council or a teacher sees you strangling a student i feel like they should save the student you are strangling. Since its a really long animation i feel a bit weird that they would just stand there while your preforming the really long animation. they would want to save the student from not dying.

  8. hey yandere dev i wanted to ask you a question, in one of your old videos when you added the game over caused by the low reputation you said that in the future you would add a different scene from the current one that people instead of mocking the protagonist, they run away and they stay away from her. Still planning to add it?

  10. Um, small, teeny bug, if you open your phone in 1980’s mode, senpai’s photo is a picture of your room so you might wanna patch that

    • you should probably report bugs through the ‘bug reporting’ page on the yandere simulator website – it’ll be easier for yandev to see and go through when fixing bugs for new builds. 🫶

  11. YandereDev, why did you deleted a bucket in sports room? Because without it it’s now difficult to complete Juku Renbutsu’s task because you need to walk into the school/gardering club and put the dumbbell into the bucket and only THEN he will accept the dumbbell.

YandereDev, i think it would be a good improvement if you tried to make Jokichi according to his personality, bc it feels really weird that he is described as charming and flirtatious but acts like a copypaste of senpai, i think adding dialogues of him being flirty with the rivals or smt would be cool and would make him more unique (btw i admire you a lot, i like the job youre doing with your game)

  14. Dear YandereDev, I found a bug in the Bell. I was just playing the Game in 1980’s mode; I got rid of the rival who is blonde, but on the next day I came to school and the Gym assembly was happening and while it was the Bell was playing for 2 seconds and then it just replayed over and over! Even when I skip the day it replays it!😂😂
