June 18th Bug-Fixing Build

(If you’re here to check for development updates and not read bug-fixing changelogs, I recommend reading a recent post called “The Big June Update,” because it describes the most recent additions to the game!)

I’ve prepared a new build that fixes some bugs that have been getting reported lately!

To read a list of everything that was changed or fixed in the latest build, please scroll down past another beautiful illustration by Yokichi Sakamoto!

Fixes and Changes

  • Fixed bug in the “sneak into insane asylum” mission that would cause a character’s red “becoming aware of player’s presence” marker to remain onscreen when the player was hiding inside of a locker.
  • Any student with the “Spiteful” Persona will no longer call the cops on the player or testify to the police about murder, after witnessing the murder of a student that they were being bullied by.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the game from detecting whether or not the player was carrying emetic poison in their inventory when approaching Osana/Senpai’s bentos to poison them.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the “tag” circle to continue appearing in Yandere Vision even if the tagged student had been removed from the school environment.
  • Removed exploit that would allow the player to avoid being kicked out of a club at the end of Friday by simply skipping Friday on the Calendar screen.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the game from removing an expelled rival from school after the “getting expelled by guidance counselor” sequence had ended.
  • Fixed bug that caused the game to count a clean swimsuit as a bloody swimsuit even after the player had cleaned blood off of a swimsuit.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the game to softlock if the player washed a bloody weapon using the water basin in the Home Ec room.
  • Fixed bug that caused Osana to wear the wrong school uniform during the “wakes up tied to a chair in the basement” cutscene.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the Student Info pages to display incorrectly when viewed inside of the protagonist’s home.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing the “eyewitnesses accuse the protagonist of murder” feature from working.
  • Fixed bug that caused the ventilation system to identify the Newspaper Club as the “Info Club” in 1989.
  • Fixed bug that made it possible for the player to run while being chased by the Journalist.
  • Removed text that referred to Akademi as a “high school” and replaced this text with the word “academy” instead.

  1. Very awesome of you to continuing to fix bugs for yansim. Respect for you. There are some bugs in yansim that you should fix…
In the 1980s abc killer challenge yahiko onoda is first to die then its yae ogata. You should switch the two students so that it’s in the right order. When playing the 1980s mode debug week, I killed almost everyone except sonoko and one teacher yet I still got the genocide ending. That’s all I have to say keep up the good work

    • Another bug I found is that if a mindslave attacked raibaru, apparently, you can use a large blunt weapon such as weight or baseball bat to stun and hurt raibaru giving the mindslave an opportunity to kill her while she’s hurt

  2. Would you consider adding the ability to remove an item from the protagonist’s bookbag (in a similar way that we remove a weapon from the weapon bag by pressing “R” in Yandere Vision)?

    • It’s kind of difficult to quantify game development progress into percentage, but I can try.

Yandere Simulator is 90% gameplay and 10% story.

      The gameplay is 90% done.

50% of the story is 1980s Mode, the other 50% is 202X Mode.

1980s Mode is 100% done and 202X Mode is 10% done.

      90% of 90 is 81.

      100% of 50 is 50, and 10% of 50 is 5.

      81 + 5 + .5 is 86.5%.

So, if I had to assign a “percent” to development progress, I would say that Yandere Simulator is 86.5% complete.

  3. In the alphabet killer challenge, the invisibility cloak works very strangely in two ways.
    1. There is a strange black hair texture in between the cloak texture and the normal texture, so when you are using the cloak, you look normal, and vise versa.
    2. Ayano’s hair texture disappears after using the cloak.

  4. Ok also, serious bug, if you win in a struggle minigame in mission mode, it will forever say “Cannot Exfiltrate!” and you wont be able to do anything.

  5. if you debug load any save file, it makes your character unable to move. not only that, but no buttons work. not enter to open the pause screen, not the debug and easter egg buttons, and most importantly and as previously mentioned, the buttons to move do not work.
