May 1st Bug Fixing Build

EDIT: The “Steal Sakyu’s Ring” feature is not working in this build. If you wish to use that feature, please wait until the next bug-fixing build is released.

New build! 18 improvements, 48 bug fixes! That’s a pretty big update, I’d say!

Want to read a full list of everything that was changed or fixed in the latest build? Scroll down past this gorgeous artwork by Bbreaad!

By the way, Bbreaad also made this absolutely adorable artwork:

Oh my god!! So cute!! I should have featured this artwork when I released the build containing the 4 Martial Arts Club tasks – it would have been so appropriate!!

Anyway…

Improvements

  • Someone pointed out that when a character is kidnapped and tied to a chair in the protagonist’s basement, the clothing that they wear in the basement does not match the same clothing that they were wearing when they were kidnapped. It would be possible to program the game to remember what clothing a character was wearing at the time they were kidnapped and make them appear in that outfit in the basement, but this feature would require constant “maintenance” every time a new outfit is added, so it would be more trouble than it’s worth. Instead, all kidnapped victims in Ayano’s basement will be dressed in rags, instead. They will also wear rags when appearing as mind-broken slaves at school, as well.
  • The “steal ring from Himedere” mechanic was too awkward and confusing for many players, so the “girl takes off ring at lunchtime” event has been removed from the game. Now, the method for stealing a ring from Himedere is to splash water on her and steal her ring when she leaves it unattended in the locker room.
  • From now on, if a student’s Persona changes (such as when a rival survives their week and their Persona changes from “Lovestruck” to “Snitch” or something like that) the text in their Student Info page will update to reflect this.
  • From now on, when the player discovers a student’s “Crush” (such as when they speak to the rival’s suitor and confirm that the suitor has a crush on the rival) the text in their Student Info page will update to reflect this.
  • Previously, it was impossible to complete a Mission Mode mission that involved killing Raibaru with fire, because Raibaru dodged all liquid. From now on, it will be possible to splash Raibaru with liquid in Mission Mode.
  • Previously, it was impossible to complete a Mission Mode mission that involved getting Horuda to respond to a note in her locker. From now on, Horuda will respond to any note that involves bullying in Mission Mode.
  • From now on, if a student’s “Crush” changes (such as when a rival survives their week and they no longer have a crush on Senpai) the text in their Student Info page will update to reflect this.
  • Added several decorations to the front of the school exterior to make it look more fancy. If the fans approve, these kinds of decorations will be added to the rest of the school too.
  • From now on, after a student has entered into a relationship, the “Student Info” screen will update to reflect the fact that they are now in a relationship with someone.
  • When playing the maid cafe minigame in 1980s Mode, the protagonist’s sprite will now look like Ryoba instead of Ayano.
  • Ayano’s smartphone background is now darker in Lovesick Mode and Mission Mode to suit the dark themes of those modes.
  • Updated Efude’s hair model, which was supposed to have a little paintbrush sticking out of her hair.
  • Updated the 5 female delinquent hair models for the first time since 2016.
  • Updated the hair models of the 1980s Mode Drama Club.
  • Updated the student council girls’ hair models.
  • Updated Sakyu and Inkyu’s hair models.
  • Updated Itachi’s hair model.
  • Updated Uekiya’s hair model.

  • Fixed “Bloody footprints stop appearing” bug, which I thought was fixed in the previous build but actually wasn’t fixed after all.
  • Fixed bug that prevented the music club members from having the correct appearances when being held in Yandere-chan’s basement.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent Info-chan from displaying a student’s information on Ayano’s phone during Mission Mode missions.
  • Fixed bug that caused Chigusa to run in place at the photoshoot if she was splashed with water while on her way to the shoot.
  • Fixed bugs that caused Itachi’s club leader armband to clip into his arm after he changed into his swimwear or gym uniform.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the game to automatically skip the next Sunday if the player read manga at night on Friday.

Also Worth Mentioning

Some of the artwork for Ayano and Ryoba on the official website has been updated! Go take a look!

96 thoughts on “May 1st Bug Fixing Build

  1. Great update, but I’m not a huge fan of the new models for the student council, their quality is worse imo. Also Meka’s hair model doesn’t fit the official art work from mulberry; same goes to the bullies, their accessories, their textures etc. (No hate to the modelers btw)

  2. I also found a bug, if Komako is eliminated peacefully, she follows her old routine so she talks to herself on the following 2 weeks, maybe she could instead sit by the fountain.

  3. Hey yanderedev, i want to ask if the crowdfunding campaign is successful, could you add a mode where we play as rioba s sister. When I went through the game to the true ending, i noticed that in the scene after the credits it was said that ryoba s sister also eliminate rivals. Plese respond.

  4. This update is big, like I was reading it and the download finished. Great job Yandere Dev keep it up!

  5. Hi YandereDev! I love your game, and all of them new modellers certainly make a great job on fully updating hair models and putting new shader/material onto them. However, I politely dislike the new hair model for the student council. Their old hair models gave them such personalities, and with the the models.. well,I dislike it. It took the personality and originality of student council.

Also, please bring back the bangs of basu sisters as I think their bangs on previous build is better. The brand new hair models for 1980 mode students are also unlikable. Some of them became simple, while so destroy the personality of it.

I believe my honest opinion and criticism will be heard so that you will change them back to normal.

I think the new modellers nailed the new school front decorations! Good job on their part!

  6. Good update but If you matchmake a rival with their suitor shouldnt their crush be the boy you matchmaked with her??? Currently if you successfully matchmake a rival it says their crush is none anymore.

  7. Hey Yandere Dev, I rejoin the server and I can’t access the Google Form, It says “You’ve been Responded” So how do I rejoin the server?

  8. Thanks for the update, but the old student council girl models were much better. Could you please return them?🙏

  9. I honestly dislike the new decorations on the entrance of the school and the new student council models. But I think it’s way better to throw water on Himedere to steal rings. Aaaaand you can find I’m a little annoying but the color of the new clothes (especially the skirt) for kidnapped students is a little… Strange. A strange color choice.

  10. Hi YandereDev! I have a bug. During my use of posemod all of a sudden i reload the game and the easter egg command is gone? The mod menu is right but I cant speed forward time and change yan-chans hairstyle. Any ideas?

  11. Hey Yandev,

I don’t want to be rude or anything, but in all honesty, I’m not so much of a fan of the new hairstyles for the Drama Club members in 1980s mode. (Except Eiichi and Fujio).

I do understand the amount of work the volunteers put in the effort in the hairstyles, but I just feel like they look too different.

Daichi: He kind of looks like Fujio’s old hairstyle, I felt his original hairstyle resembles that of the royal and classic style that would fit in with his personality or the club he’s in,

Eiichi is fine. I think it’s better than his old look.

Fujio: His hair does resemble a bit of his old one but in black. Even though it’s okay, I feel like people could easily confuse him with Ichiei Nakayama (Occult 1980s guy).

Chidori: I feel like her hair was too much of a drastic change. She mostly resembles that of Waka Yamaga.

    Other than that, good work.

  12. I’ve always tried to see your creative intent with additions I didn’t understand but I’m kind of actually stumped on why you changed the 1980’s drama club hairs so much. Not just that but made them very boring too. The drama club had some of my favourite hairs {especially the leader and the girl} but now they just look like everyone else {though I do really like the earring the leader has now I think it’s really cute}. Similar with the student council too, their hair is more thin and bland. It lost their shine figuratively and literally. Other than that I loved the build as always and I think the décoré in the school entrance is a cool idea!💗

  13. I would say that the Student Council and a couple of the other student hair models need more detailing/shading. ESPECIALLY Shiromi. Whom I feel has lost most, if not all, her personality.

We also need to respectfully shrink the bust of Ryoba’s town outfit model, as it clips her hair way too much, and distracts from how cute the outfit really is.

I don’t want be rude, really truly never my intention, and I hope I don’t come across that way.

If you’re taking suggestions I was wondering if the player could ever buy stockings or accessories to improve reputation. As it would make more sense than panties. As her fellow students can’t see them, so, instead they might see a cute ribbon in Ayano’s hair and view her more positively. Maybe different types of accessories to pair with personas Ayano can change into?? That way she could socialize more easily with certain personas!

      • Yeah, it just hit me the other day that the panties don’t make sense seeing as no one could see them. So I thought why not have accessories that NPCs could reasonably see? So it would add more to the personas we can change into in front of the mirror. The right accessory with the right persona could give a bigger boost with certain students.

As fun as it is to have the personas we don’t see it much in terms of gameplay. I think it would make the game more lively to have Ayano actually learn how to manipulate fellow students like that.

It would also be fun to learn what Taro likes in a girl so that we can craft Ayano to be Taro’s ideal lover over the course of the game. 🤔

I mean we could even keep the panties in. They could just be a +1 stat to whatever perk/persona it’s trying to boost. So that way accessories would be more prioritized. I don’t personally care about the panty thing. It’s never been a bother to me.

  14. Whenever I think back to this game and the story that we’ve never seen, I can see so much potential, to be honest. However, I’m disappointed that you want to show us the story behind the game once you’ve added ”certain” features, why not add a bit of story now so that others feel motivated to follow the development of the game? In every update on the first of every month we usually see new hair models, new in-game art, and other improved details, but I don’t think any of that is enough to encourage others to commit to this game. Yandere Simulator continues to gain fans, but it also loses many others. And I’m afraid I’ll be one of those lost fans if the game continues to stall like this. I wish you the best of luck and good mental health, Dev.

  15. I noticed art was added for Yandere-chan as a bully, prior to dev adding this art was this feature confirmed or is this the confirmation that it will be added?

  16. 1. I think the model for the rag outfit needs a bit of work, the skirt clips through the legs, especially in the torture cutscene

    2. I love how when a character is in a relationship, it actually says ‘relationship’ instead of ‘crush’ on their profile. I’ve had that thought ever since Ryuto and Pippi had a crush on each other. Maybe in the future, you can make it where students are already in relationships when the game starts, I think it would be more realistic than having the entire school be single until Ryoba/Ayano steps in and matchmakes someone, and it would add more canon ships for the fandom. It would also add more to the characters

    3. For the design of the front of the school, I like the look of the clock a lot but I personally really don’t like the way the rest was changed. It’s too detailed in my opinion.

    4. I have mixed opinions about all of the new hairs
    – I love the new hair for the female delinquents, especially the teal one’s! The previous ones were very outdated and I’m happy to see them changed
    – I like the new hairstyles for the drama club, except for the club leader. It changes his personality a lot and the hairstyle looks blander than his previous design.
    – I don’t really like the new hair for the student council either, the previous ones were the best that were made in my opinion
    – Although I do kind of like the 1980’s student council president’s new hair.
    – I also prefer Sakyu’s old hairstyle but I like Inkyu’s new hairstyle better.
    – My favorite new hairstyles this build is for Itachi and Uekiya, they both are really good improvements

    – on a side note, I really miss Chojo’s old hair and I don’t know why it was changed. His hair doesn’t fit the rest of the occult club

This is all my personal opinion

  17. Idea for Yandere Dev. HAVE A FUCKING POLL. Show both hair models per character. It’s easy and less time consuming, and have the fans decide as to what they want added. Instead of adding the new one, then scrapping it because it wasn’t liked just takes up time on fixing bugs, and or waiting on assets for certain mechanics. I do understand being busy, yet the method I’m offering is just less time consuming and less stress on yourself. You already deal with enough stress on adding things and or haters. Don’t let adding unwanted models be the next thing. Just do a poll and have people decide between A or B. The one with the most votes after 3-5 days. Will tell you what the fans like more and can make it easier on you.

    • Should state that I don’t hate the game, if anything I’m annoyed with the adding ugly hair models. Personally it’s like jerking off to an ugly fat chick, because you lost access to the hot one.

      • He has to remove certain hairstyles. Modelers leave. It’s not like he has a choice. It doesn’t matter if they’re ugly right now; he just doesn’t want to be sued.

  18. Another thing is, how does the slave enter the school? Kyoshi is at the entrance all the time And seeing a girl dressed like that I wouldn’t let her in. And how do students not feel confused when they see a girl dressed in rags? At least she knows They are left looking confused, I know that there is no need to look for so much logic in a game, but well, my doubt is that.

    • Ayano instructs the slave to enter school by climbing the wall instead of walking in normally. Nobody else sees the slave because she is crouching behind some bushes.

  19. I see you have been updating artwork and including new ones for Ayano and Ryoba. I was wondering if that mean if we can see group photos for the clubs in 202X. I’m not expecting to see any from 89.

  20. You do know the name for the himidere in 1980’s mode is Himeko, not himidere, right?

  21. You do know the name for the himidere in 1980’s mode is Himeko, not himidere, right?

  22. Hola YandereDev!

  23. I’m gonna be honest but as polite as possible with ya chief. I’m not a fan of the new 202X Student Council girls’ hair models, I believe the previous build’s hair models for the girls actually looked better and looked more like their current official artwork on the character page. Everything else looks great. I love the 1980’s delinquent girls’ new hair model’s, and Uekiya’s new hair model. I would like you to bring back the 202X council’s previous hair models, please and thank you. Keep up the amazing work YandereDev!

  24. I think my comment was moderated? So I’ll post it again

    1. I think the model for the rag outfit needs a bit of work, the skirt clips through the legs, especially in the torture cutscene

    2. I love how when a character is in a relationship, it actually says ‘relationship’ instead of ‘crush’ on their profile. 25. I found something I think is a bug, earlier today I was eliminating Osana with the method where you have a bully talk to her, take a photo etc etc. basically murder suicide with Horuda that doesn’t involve torture. The day when Horuda killed Osana, Horuda was dressed in rags like the kidnapped students would be. I’m not sure if that’s intentional or not but I don’t think it is considering how they’re different if you know what I mean

    • I found a bug when in the 1980s I try to go to class or kill any student, the game shows only white, The second bug is that when the atmosphere is low in the 1980s two newspaper club students can’t go just go on the spot!

  26. The rags look weird and cartoony if someone is wearing a different outfit shouldn’t they just refuse to follow you?

  27. yan-dev pls reply!!

why did the new council members and drama club members hair models get replaced?

i really likde the older ones 😦

    • From what I know, a modeller doesn’t want his models to be in the game anymore
I might be wrong though! Hopefully similiar hairstyles will get back since they were absolutely wholesome! (The new ones are also cool, but I got used to the original hairstyles!)
