Argh, yesterday’s build was buggy! I’m so sorry! I tried to fix the issues that were present in the previous build, and I also implemented some Quality-of-Life improvements that people have been asking for over the last few days.

Fixes and Changes
- Attempted to implement a “Reset Week” system. The game will now make an autosave at the beginning of every week, allowing you to return to the first day of the week anytime, from either the Calendar screen or the Heartbroken screen.
- Fixed bug that would cause a rival’s gift box to always appear on the 1st rival’s desk, instead of appearing on the current rival’s desk.
- Updated the official Yandere Simulator website to explain how the ranking system works: https://yanderesimulator.com/s-rank/
- Attempted to fix a bug that would make it possible for a non-1980s save file to accidentally load into 1980s Mode.
- Fixed bug that prevented the game from acknowledging when the 80s Sports Club leader was nearby his club area.
- Attempted once again to fix the “Game is stuck at rendering only 10 meters in front of the camera” bug.
- Fixed bug that caused the Journalist’s pepper-spraying animation to deform his face slightly.
- Fixed bug that made the 80s Sports Club leader’s jogging outfit clip through his armband.
- Fixed bug that prevented the 1980s Mode confession music from playing.
- Updated the “POOL’S CLOSED” sign for 1980s Mode.

hey yandev, got a question.
you implemented “narcotics = arrest” and it’s all good imo, except for one thing. im trying to get the s+ rank and teiko’s elimination method is to expel her. i sabotage her and she gets arrested for having drugs. i thought it would still count as expulsion but it didn’t and i had to redo the whole game again
tl;dr: s+ is kind of hard with drugs = arrest feature
Well, there are other ways to get your rival expelled. Narcotics SHOULD get you arrested as Akademi was harsher back then. Only in the 2021 time does it count towards expulsion.
I think it adds continuity to the storyline, building upon already established lore. You could look over the guidance counselor reporting options in her office to see what you can report students for.
I think when approaching it with this mindset will enhance the experience.

A substance used to treat moderate to severe pain. Narcotics are like opiates such as morphine and codeine, but are not made from opium. They bind to opioid receptors in the central nervous system. Narcotics are now called opioids.
Yeah, so it’s safe to say this would be a great reason for the school to report you to the police. In the 80’s Japanese police really cracked down on drug cases.
Plus the school was as hardcore as Harvard or Yale. They didn’t mess around back then. Ryoba is the catalyst that drove the Headmaster to make changes to the school so they could draw in more students again.

@sackzcottgames, narcotics are drugs like heroin or morphine, so anything that’s an opioid. Narcotics are not just the illegal ones, muscle relaxers are also an opioid, but they are used in medicine, so like muscle spasms or injuries. Muscle relaxers calm you down and can give you a head high which when abused they can be a narcotic. All of these drugs will give you a similar high, a tingling body and a state of stupor or sleep. All in all narcotics are SUPER addictive. Which is why muscle relaxers and morphine are so regulated.
Hard drugs like heroin.
I have a bug, I can’t compliment to a student, join club, apologize and gossip about others. I have downloaded the latest build.
Also, is standing in others way count as “alarmed a student”? Because I unintentionally standing in front of other students and my stats says that I alarmed 2 students.
anytime you lose rep it’s alarming a student (most of the time)
Well recently I found out that it lowers the positive reputation pts you get when you annoy a student, like for example, I did this yesterday btw, I was annoying kaguya realizing that she always goes ahead of ryoba’s senpai, not using the route her senpai does even tho she’s literally near the school entrance doors than her senpai… I only got one positive reputation pt down tho so it doesn’t do much but if you continue to annoy students like that it will most likely count for your results in your rank…
Well, that’s what I think, but I don’t really wanna risk it and lose my progress…
In 1980s Tutorial mode, the first rival’s ghost already appears in the bathroom(with Yandere Vision) before you’ve even killed her.

When I use the narcotic to stop a rival, the game indicates that she is in jail, but the rival returns to school the next day.
I had the same issue when I was trying to get the S+ rank!

i think its kinda normal because akademi was much harsher back then. but if it was in 2021, the student won’t be arrested for sure since the school isnt as harsh as before.

so uh, finally my download actually works and it’s letting me play yandere, but before i was playing the tutorial and happily playing in the 1980’s mode as of course Ryoba. then suddenly my game keeps crashing every time i want to go to school.. i then restarted my laptop and then opened the game again, this time the opening screen showed Ayano, which is fine! i then clicked to play as Ryoba but when the day’s of the week show, it shows Ayano’s not Ryoba, but i just went along with it thinking it was a bug but i loaded in as Ayano! If there is anyway into fixing this, i need help. hopefully the resolve of this is not re-downloading, cause oh my it took ages and man tries to download.
It’s possible that you are running a lot of memory-intensive programs simultaneously, which is taking up all of your computer’s RAM, leaving almost no available RAM left for Yandere Sim. To find out of this is the case, there is something you can try: Reset your computer and launch only Yandere Sim, without launching any other programs – then see if the game crashes when trying to enter the school.
Just completed the 80’s mode and damn it was fun and decent for the most part, good job. There is really only one thing that kinda annoyed me and that was no information that to get a higher rank, i should have a high reputation and make lots of friends in the school. I killed each rival the way Ryoba wanted but only got a B because i didn’t know that, and that kind of made me have a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth for i thought i did everything right to get the “true ending” but i didn’t.
What if there were 2 randomly generated female characters in the lcoker room?
Also, not sure if this bug is fixed, but when I matchmade rival 4 in the morning, she would change her clothes while she was talking to her suitor
some bugs that werent changed here : in the amai challenge the boys in the boys locker room somehow saw amais dead body even if its in the girls locker room : akane keeps walking in circles in the science club ,the uniform in present day displayed in the hallways are still 1980s ,osana carries a 1980s bag,

The 1989 uniforms in the display case are intentional.

By the way, in my opinion, reputation HUD in 1980’s is kind of inconsistent with other parts of HUD
I was wondering: do the delinquents count as witnesses? Because I never really bothered to conceal my weapons around them since they won’t tell on me. Do they still give me guilty points? Will they testify against me in the trial? Do I have to kill all 5 of them now O-O? Oh boi is this the level of paranoia a killer has every single day?
Part of me wants to say no? Only because if they try to get you guilty, by testifying would be kind of dumb, when they, carry around weapons in a school setting. They’d technically probably get in trouble too. Especially since they could be accused to be the culprits. But who knows ^^. Maybe YandereDev will explain this.

I find it repetitve and annoying to have to kidnap a girl, waste a night, go to school for it to be night AGAIN, and only THEN sell the girl. It just doesn’t make the proceses interesting. Just tedious.
– also an addidtion to this. I find it a bit anoying that you can only see the face of a student while in the yakuza menu.

The Student council will react like I’m doing something suspicious if I just walk past them, and bought items wont show up in my inventory, i cant use them after i buy them at all. The only thing i can use is the fake id card.
Use the “Bring Item To School” menu at home.
I am on the latest release and my 1980’s mode is reading week 0 and it is running fine but there is no official rival but Sora Sosuke is my rival and I think it is cool that there is a boy rival even because of a glitch but I would like to note it.
I’m sorry, I’ll try to fix this in the next build.
yandev when I entered the 9th week the uniforms of the people in the journalism club were totally white, and the rejection method cannot be applied to other rivals than 1 rival

1. When you open the game on Ayano’s mode, it still has the vhs effect over the screen.
2. This is probably really low on the priority list, but Raibaru and Chojo’s portraits haven’t been updated yet.

I found a bug:
If a female student tries to return a prop to the drama club, (Magical girl wand or one of the fantasy swords), they will get stuck in a forever loop.
(Also, I find it a bit OP that you can lure the rival to a secluded place by simply dropping a bat in front of them.)

So I found a bug trying to do the befriend elimination with the 5th rival I think the one that’s rich and a snob. So when i meet her on the rooftop and talk to her the game freezes after it’s done and the subtitles just have a “…”.

The rejection method in some rivals is buggy, especially when you put sleeping pills in their food, and the method of expelling a rival is also having problems (usually after the cutscene of the counselor finding things in the rival’s bag), the scene it gets stuck in the scenario and nothing happens, it even happens that I lost my save during these bugs!

Yandere Dev i found bugs in this update: 1st week I increased all chemistry stats on Monday and Tuesday, but I can’t catch lethal poison in the science lab on Wednesday morning of 1st week. 2nd bug: I entered the photography club and cannot use the camera with the mouse or the X box controller. These 2 bugs are found in 1980 Mode

All about 1989 mode, today’s build:
[Bug] the post-processing settings that I disable in the main menu get re-enabled when I start playing. Also happens with the fog in detail options.
[Bug] when I kill a rival with the fire extinguisher while she’s facing me the stats indicate that I was saw stained with blood. I know there’s an animation splashing blood but my clothes don’t get bloody and the only person who saw the blood is supposed to be dead, how could she testify?

[Inconsistency] Hose Shiruba name is wrong. In Japanese the adaptation of the Brazilian name José is Joze (ジョゼ). Also the surname Silva in Brazilian Portuguese is adapted as Shiuva (シウバ). His name should be Joze Shiuba. Proof: see japanese wikipedia articles about JOSÉ Sarney (ジョゼ・サルネイ), Thiago SILVA (チアゴ・シウバ) and Valdenir da SILVA (チアゴ・シウバ). To read the katakana in romaji you just have to paste in google translator.

Detected another bugs
After my rival started eating at the rooftop I went to her bag, stole her bento and went back to her. She was without her bento.
In my first day I could bring condom, alcohol, cigarettes, even though I never bought then.
Ryoba’s breast size is wrong in the Insane Asylum
Not a bug, but still an issue:
There’s no point in kidnapping your rivals via yakuza when you can buy narcotics from them instead. Narcotics are an instant elimination as well, but they cost a flat value of 1000, every time. However, kidnapping costs increase every week.
Reputation in this game is also kind of overpowered. Reputation becomes easy to farm once you max psycology and seduction. However, each point of reputation gives you one innocent point in the trial, so just by conversing with every student once, you can guarantee an instant win, even if you walked around with blood every day.
Hm.
I’ll attempt to balance the price of narcotics in the next build, then.
the ghost rival, sumire appears with a red highlight at the 3rd floor girl’s bathroom when u use yandere vision. is this intentional? (ngl it kinda creeps me out lol HAHA)

i dont know if this is a bug but everytime i alert teachers (since i dont remember alerting any students) the stats screen show how many times youve alarmed the teacher but its is phrased as ‘students’

I don’t know where to say this to you because im not a famous youtuber but Yandev, i have a suggestion. what about giving the rivals a hater that hates them so much you can actually drive that person into murdering the rival or ruining the rival’s reputation. for example, Teiko Nabatasai’s academic rival, the 2nd top student in akademi next to teiko, or Kaguya’s insecure cousin that always gets compared to her, or Sumiko’s misogynistic male rival athlete. Just putting these on the table, i hope you consider it because students are teens with wild imaginations and fantasies, some of which include murder.
You could also give ayano or ryoba (or both) a suitor to increase the difficulty of the game!

My game’s still stuck on 10m draw distance. I am almost sure it’s because of the tutorial. The tutorial locks the game’s draw distance to 10m and you just can’t change it (it also activates one of the VHS filters, and bloom). I tried to skip the tutorial to see if it gets fixed, but it still gets stuck on 10m. It’s so annoying.
I just installed it again from the launcher. It’s fixed!

yandere dev i have a suggestion. i think that you should make the skirts a little longer ( not as long as the delinquent girls ) but for the other school girls. for example: I saw in one of your videos some of the art work that showed Ryoba hugging !980’s Senpai under the cherry tree, i saw that her skirt were medium length along with other girls. so that’s why i think you should make the skirts a different length. i hope you like the idea
