January 31st Bug-Fixing Build

There were still some bugs lingering around in the previous build, so here’s an update with more fixes!

You’ve probably noticed that, in every blog post since Osana was released, I’ve been posting fan art of Osana! There’s a very beautiful illustration by Rabbit2 that I’ve always wanted to share with you, but there was just one issue: it’s very tall and thin, so it takes up a lot of vertical space compared to all the other illustrations I’ve shared on this blog. It would require you scroll down for a looooong time to see anything else on the blog, so I was always hesitant to post it…until now!

I’ve come up with a compromise. I’ll crop the image and show you one part of it…

…and, if you’d like to see the rest of the image, you can click here to see the full illustration in all of its glory! There; problem solved!

Now, with that out of the way, on to business. If you’d like to read a list of everything that was changed or fixed in the latest build, click Continue Reading!

Fixes and Changes

  • One of the strategies used by speedrunners is to deliberately get sent to the guidance counselor in order to finish the day and go home as quickly as possible. However, the game was ignoring the outcomes of certain events (such as Senpai reacting negatively to Osana) if the player was sent home via the counselor. This was preventing the counselor strategy from being useful during “Make Senpai Reject Osana” speedruns. So, as of now, the game will now check for sabotaged events when the player is sent home. This way, speedrunners can use the counselor strat to get faster times!
  • Fixed bug that would cause the student council to incorrectly use their “Reporting Corpse” voice line when speaking to a teacher, while reporting something other than a corpse.
  • Fixed bug that prevented Yandere-chan from removing her raincoat if the player went to the locker room and tried to change clothing while wearing a raincoat.
  • Fixed bug that caused corpses concealed inside of garbage bags to begin leaking blood if they were placed into a locker and then removed from the locker.
  • If the player uses a mirror to give Yandere-chan a Persona, the game will automatically put Yandere-chan into that Persona on future days.
  • Fixed bug that caused the game to send the player directly home after the guidance counselor lectured Osana for something.
  • Fixed bug that prevented spider legs from emerging out of Yandere-chan’s back during Empty Demon mode.
  • Fixed bug that prevented Yandere-chan’s hair from having a texture while she was wearing a raincoat.
  • Fixed bug that prevented Senpai’s detection marker from appearing as the right color (red).
  • Fixed bug that allowed the player to Sneak Panty Shot or Fake Reaction while crouching.
  • Fixed bug that caused the washing machine to transform gloves into school uniforms.
  • Fixed bug that allowed the player to wear gloves and a raincoat simultaneously.
  • Attempted to fix bug that was preventing people from summoning the Arm Demon.

  1. Yanderedev, Yanderedev!

I’m not sure you already read this, but may I suggest you keep both the idea of making disposing corpses more fun as well as the ideas to give penalties for not disposing corpses? I suggest that because well… For one thing I like both ideas. But also, I’m sure there are people out there who still won’t bother to dispose of a corpse if they don’t get penalized for it.

    • Maybe a scoring system at the end of the week could be cool, like in Danganronpa at the end of class trials or other games. They include for example how many points you got for task, elemination method, if you have been spotted or acted suspicious, get rid of corpse and evidence and so on. Reaching a good score could give you benefits, a prize or bonus abilities (just ideas) for the next week. With this you could motivate people in a positive way to doing all the necessary steps before and after the murder. Many people have the urge to get good scores. The penalty can still exist, it would give minus point at the end of the week.
Just an idea that I had in mind after reading your comment 🙂

    • Here a little reminder, although a few deaths only slightly negatively impact your school’s atmosphere, the game will take place over 10 weeks. If you don’t dispose of the evidence frequently, the game will become much more difficult.

  2. Nice bugfixes. But I just noticed something – the Raincoat has blue gloves. Shouldn’t there be no fingerprints on a weapon if the player wore the raincoat before equipping it? If that’s too much, you could always remove the gloves from the raincoat model and just use Ayano’s normal arms.

  3. um Yandere Dev for some reason I did the task for the gaming club leader to prevent the bullies to go to the pool oh Thursday but they go to the pool anywhere even does I did the task so can you fix that please

  4. I keep running into this bug that the bullies come to the pool even if I did the task that prevent them from going there so can you fix that please.

  5. Hey there! I just wanted to give some suggestions on making gameplay feel more organic in regards to Osana’s schedule. I think it’s good that players are given a way to know about her events, but I also think it could be fun to use in-game narrative to explain how Yan-chan got to it. Since a big part of Yan-chans character is, that she stalks Senpai , maybe you could offer a “side mission” at the start of the game? Similar to when you have to break into a house to rescue the kitten, but this time the player would break into Senpai’s house. Of course it’s very high stakes, because being caught by Senpai would lead to an instand game over, but as part of the mission the player could collect little tokens for the Senpai-Shrine AND maybe find a Calender/Planner that has marked in things like “Meet Osana at gate” or go through Senpai’s phone/Computer to find messages where Osana asks him to be somewhere at a certain time.
Other options could be to have Osana drop her planner at the start of the game where the player can easily find it and take a picture OR it could be Info-Chan who found Osana’s schedule (which is also how she found out about the fact that Osana wants to confess THAT Friday under the cherry tree) and Info-Chan would offer the schedule in return for something. Potentially you could include all of these options for players of different play styles but include events for eliminations of different difficulty for each version.

  6. Yan dev, i have question, one time you posted a video talking about Yakuza (Wish i loved btw) but you’ve never spoke about it again,..are you still planning to implement him in the final game?

  7. There is still a debug command hidden in the game (Even if you don’t have them enabled):
When you press “S” when you observe your manga collection in the room at night it will increase your seduction level and you can increase it to max without taking any time away.

This is a VERY old debug command so I’m not surprised that it was forgotten about

  8. So the student council’s text says (on the characters page) that two people know how Aoi lost her eye. In Yandev’s video about the council, he said rumors say that Aoi’s lost eye has something to do with Megami, and after that he showed an illustration with both girls (Aoi with a bandaged eye) so it has to be… Megami and Shiromi (cause she’s a sneaky one 😉 )

  9. Did you fix the problem with the demo checklist eliminations? I’m going to check… But I’m scared it won’t work :c I did the eliminations exactly how others do it but it never put the images in color(I did the direct attack one and… Befriendnand betray one)

  10. Suggestion: When you change your character’s hair or accessories, it should appear the next day, and when you’re at home. Plus, I wish you wouldn’t have to cycle through all the hair to find you’re favorite, but what can you do about it?

  11. Is leaving a garbage bag with a body in it /supposed/ to be considered suspicious? I left a bag’d Osana behind a bush and went to class and the body was immediately discovered. Is this a bug or a feature? lol

  12. Nice bugfixes! This game is really making progress!
Just a side note that I noticed. I feel like if a student in a club sees Ayano (when not in that club) carrying something from that club, shouldn’t the club member point her out for stealing said object. This would send them to the counselor or something. Sorry if that’s confusing, because it was kind of confusing to type it, but I hope you get the idea.
    Anyways, nice work!

  13. hello! i wanted some help with a problem i have. if this problem have already been solved, please can someone redirect me to this solution? here is the problem. i killed several characters in the game. and even if i reset the week or delete the save in the game, they just won’t respawn and are still considered dead. can someone help me?

  14. Yandere Dev, I can’t even download the game because the files are corrupt no matter what I do. I tried Re-Downloading, using a Software that fixes corrupt files, etc. Please help.

  15. Why do students and Senpai react to wearing a raincoat as if Ayano had low sanity? It is illogical, in a normal school no one would say “what the hell is wrong with you” because you would be wearing a raincoat.

      • I put on my raincoat and the students say to me, “What the hell is wrong with you?” even if I have a high sanity

    • Maybe because its weird to be using a raincoat on a sunny-day, just like its weird when people are not using rain-coats when its rainy, its sunny in yandere simulator so thats why (bad english lol)

  16. You give me this whole thing

  17. Suggestion: When using Yandere Vision disable the option to talk, since the speed up time and talk button are the same I often accidentally talk to students when I hold down E

    • you dont have to hold down e to speed up time, just press it once and it should stay, and then press e again when you want to disable it

  18. I don’t understand why the player is allowed to bag corpses and human limbs, but not other items like bloody weapons or clothing. From a game design perspective, it makes sense since it would be a little easy to dispose of evidence, but realistically it’s confusing.

  19. I was going through the elimination methods, and every time I doused Osana, gasoline refused to appear on her body, and I was not able to set her on fire.

  20. Love the new update! However, I think you should have to wear gloves before grabbing this weapon because you could get tetanus.

  21. I think an ultimate punishment for either killing too many people as well as leaving too many corpses should shut down the school and basically give you a crappy ending 🤷🏼‍♀️ you don’t get senpai, and it’s essentially an early game over.
