She’s Done

Phew! It took a lot more time than I expected, but I’ve finished testing every one of Osana’s features and confirming that everything works the way it’s supposed to. I fixed every bug I was able to find, fixed every exploit I noticed, and fixed anything I saw that looked janky. It’s such a relief to finally get past this stage of development!!

Of course, I’m pretty sure that there are still bugs in there somewhere. When I release the first build that contains Osana, it’s certain that people will discover bugs that slipped past me. However, I’ve confirmed that it’s possible to complete every one of Info-chan’s Schemes and complete every one of Osana’s elimination methods, so even if there are still bugs buried somewhere in there, there should no longer be any bugs that prevent progression or completion of objectives. (I hope!)

I have removed all “Anti-Osana Countermeasures” that prevent Osana from spawning in public builds. This means that I am now physically incapable of releasing a build that lacks Osana, since all the “Don’t let Osana spawn” code is removed. The next build I release is guaranteed to contain Osana in it, because no other option exists.

As I’ve stated before, I want the demo to feel like it’s completely different from the debug sandbox. I don’t want you to play the demo and think, “Oh, it’s the same thing as before, but Osana’s here now.” I want you to think, “WOW!! It looks and feels completely different!! So THIS is what the final game is going to look like?? Cool!!”

To achieve this goal, there are various aesthetic changes I want to make. Over the next few days, I am going to completely re-make the game’s title screen, touch up the game’s UI, and implement some graphical improvements to make the game look a lot more pretty. I already have all the assets I need to accomplish this, so there won’t be a waiting period before we enter this stage; I can jump right into it immediately.

I usually release an update on the 1st and 15th days of every month. The pre-demo graphical update will probably take a few days to complete, so I won’t be releasing a build on the 15th of this month. It’s a little difficult to predict how long this final pre-demo task will take, but I don’t think it’ll take anywhere near as long as it took to test Osana’s features.

As usual, I’ll continue to update the Trello page with my progress: https://trello.com/b/J0BiY9CS/yandere-simulator The “Graphical Update To-Do List” will probably become more detailed in the future.

It means a whole lot to me if you’re still continuing to check in on my progress after all this time! As always, thank you very, very much for following the development of Yandere Simulator!

  1. OH MY GOD THAT GREAT NEWS !!! I think you better rest a little after that dev, it was an achievement and I am so happy and thankful for that, stay well and take care of our game;)

  2. This is wonderful to hear!! We knew you can do it!!!

Just remember: as much as there are those who will want to tear you down, you have many more on your side rooting you on! It will be all worth it in the end, you’ll see!!

    • That is so true there will be people who try to ruin everything you have accomplish ever is also other people who are going to help you succeed

  3. Will you talke about each rival in videos as you had done with osana? Like for example:
(I doubt this is how it will be of course)
“Just like Raibaru was for Osana, Ajia will be Amai’s bodyguard. She can’t be poisoned because as vicepresident of the cooking club, she is very dedicated to her food. So you’ll just have to find out for yourself how to eliminate her.”
    So, things like that?????😇

  4. Last time they can accuse you of stalling. You are so close now! “Seize this momentum! Push on to the task’s end!”.

  5. I posted on your blog with a short message, usually I put more thought into my words. Let me do this over. Over the course of the past few years watching you grow and adapt to the development lifestyle, Has been quite the ride.
You truly are one of the most respectful and charismatic Developers out there to exist. In fact, I don’t really know any developers who are so committed to their audience, who is willing to even interact with them. Do they exist? Sure but I’m not here for them, I’m here to discuss you.

This game may be extremely ambitious and the time it takes to build, redesigning and fixing issues that players may have, often is physically or mentally demanding. Yet you remain so dedicated to your craft, You remain focused throughout emotional obstacles, That is something to be proud of. Not everyone can be as strong as you are nor stay diligent to a project. I know my game : Maid shadow legends: The Loud hills isn’t completed because I get distracted and bite off more than I can chew. You are talented in whatever you put your mind to, Don’t downplay your abilities. You are incredible

Anyway, I’m proud of you, I’m proud to remain on this ride and I’ll be cheering you on with anything you put your heart and soul to. Don’t worry what other individuals may or may not say about your game, Don’t give them that pleasure. I believe in you completely and that’ll never change.(but real talk, where my scythe tho ?)

Signed: some person who enjoys your company and video game.

  6. Hey, Yandere Dev. I’m really glad that she’s almost done. It felt like euphoria when I saw the new update. But I was honestly wondering if, once when Osana is released, if you can work on a Mac download. Or at least mention on working about it.

    • It is extremely difficult to make cross-platform programs. it would have to be completely reworked to function on the Mac OS, or any other operating system for that matter. its the kind of thing that can take months for a dedicated team to do. So while I can’t speak for Yandere Dev, I would imagine that it wouldn’t come for several years after the game’s full release, and that’s assuming that the game is a significant financial success, and enough people want it on Mac to warrant the substantial amount of resources it would require to port it.

So you may want to look into emulation.

  7. WOOHOOO! I’m so happy and excited! Also don’t let the hate get to you yandere dev, this is a big accomplishment and you should feel proud! Don’t let anyone take anything away from you! Congratulations! Your future is bright! 💜

  8. this meme was in my head when I looked and read this post. (Idk why)
Anyways, I am so happy to hear that she is FINALLY done! I always believed that you’ll get her done in no time, and now, we are finally hitting towards the end of the rode. All that’s left to do now is wait for the other rivals, and the game’s graphical update and we will see what happens next.

(p.s. I’m really glad to be a fan of the game and developer for so long now. (Since 2015 or 2016) I hope to see more of them in the future.) :3

  9. This isn’t the kickstarter exactly. . He’s releasing the demo to us first. Think of it like the Kickstarter Candidate. This will give yanderedev time to make changes that one person alone could simply never consider, fixes for bugs that no one person could’ve ever really found, and would allow for hype to build up. The kickstarter won’t happen until at least the first two of those things are done.

    • Yeah, I know, I’m just saying people will make up excuses to still hate on the game, even after the changes, which will make the Kickstarter a fail, but I’m saying that Yandev could launch the campaign again a little bit after Amai’s released because people will be shocked at how quick she was implemented, which would make them come back to liking the game again. Which will make the second Kickstarter a success. Well, if he launches another one after Amai’s released

  10. YandereDev, it feels reassuring to know how close we are to the official demo, I want to congratulate you for your excellent work. By the way, I have two little questions. In the game, when you talk to a club leader for information or even for joing, they don’t perform any animation and don’t even move their mouth when they speak, is this going to be corrected in the final game? I also want to know if it will be possible to change the language of the game in the official demo

    • After releasing a PC build, I’ll attempt to create a Mac build. However, I don’t own a Mac computer, so I won’t actually be able to test it before uploading it.

      • I’m so excited!!! I resigned myself to watching others play it on youtube but if there’s a Mac build, I’ll be able to play too! 😀 I don’t even care if it takes another few years… it’ll probably still be faster than my ability to buy a PC, haha.

Thank you for all your hard work. It’s completely astonishing to me how much you’ve accomplished since you’ve started and I’m so fortunate to have been able to watch your progression these last few years. Please take some time off for yourself soon and get any needed therapy that you can.

        You are amazing!

  11. Excuse Me Yandere Dev.

You once said Yandere Simulator is a combination of Hitman, Persona 5 and another mystery Game.

Are you going to make the Game’s new GUI and title screen similar to Persona 5 in terms of style?

  12. I’m not sure if this is going to be read, but would it be possible to make an easteregg “Masks” to put over everyone’s mouths? Purely cosmetic! Haha 🙂

..Or if you wanted you could add a “muffled” feature so if they scream it can’t be heard. >:)

  13. yandere dev on my computer, the file that will open the yandere simulator gives an error why my computer has an experimental and 60 GB of additional memory. Why does it fail?

  14. You’ve done an amazing job over the past few years yandere dev, your a wonderful person. Once Osana is released alot of weight will be lifted off your shoulder, so maybe take a break amd enjoy that extra free time you’ll have

  15. YandereDev, I would like to suggest something, I suggest you should make a feature that allows Yan Chan to join the Student Councils, I think this feature will be very beneficial to the storyline.

  16. This is interesting indeed.

Tell me devpai, will we see an update/demo by September 1st?

What are some short term goals you have post-demo and what are some long term goals you have post-demo that you are looking forward to?

Will you get a proper team once the demo is out?

Which features are you particularly proud or happy with, and which ones do you feel could use a bit more work?

    Also, unrelated question:
Will you make the students change panties day by day? (Assuming you are keeping the panty shot mechanic in) Getting them only once per save file seems a bit restrictive.

    • 1. Most likely.

      2. Updating the character models, putting the game on Steam, launching a crowdfunding campaign.

      3. That’s the plan.

      4. Proud of Befriend/Betray and Rejection. I think some elimination methods need to be balanced.

      5. I’ve considered it; maybe.

  17. Omg yes yes yes I am so excited. I know ppl complain that it took this long to get this far but really idc I just wanna see Osana in the game, and I also know u have surprises in the demo as well so we get to look forward to that as well. Was it worth the wait? Let’s find out!

  18. Once the game is completely finished, will you get rid of the launcher and upload it on steam, or will we have to buy and download it from the official website?

  19. Uuum I want to ask how long does it take to respond to a fanart? Do you respond immediately or do you respond after days cause I’m a little bit worried:(

  20. Hey Yandere dev!! I’m so glad that she’s completed, you’ve worked very hard and we’re really proud of you! One question tho, will you change the character models in the demo?

  21. I AM SOBBING IVE BEEN A FAN OF THIS GAME SINCE 2015 I CANT BELIEVE IT IM SO PROUD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  22. Hi! Well..I’ve been following Yandere Simulator for a few years and I thought it would never be ready, but your post gave me hope, thank you very much for not giving up on yandere simulator.
