Gremlins are cowards who feel brave because they can hide behind the Internet, confronted in real life they would shit their pants.
Tabloid youtubers are greedy and aim for a quick buck because they also feel safe behind the Internet, they feel they can claim ignorance if questioned.
I want to see the game become a reality, it’s so much fun to watch the progress and really see how a game is made. But I want you to do what’s best for you and your health, both physical and mental. I can’t tell you what they is, no one can, only you know. Whatever it is tho, that’s what I want you to do.
Please remember, whenever your feeling tired, that you have support out there. May true fans who love you and want the best for you, look at the YouTube let’s player’s and the praise they give as a quick reminder.
Finally, as someone who fights depression without the gremlin hate, find one person you can always talk to. Whether its a friend, family members support group, just someone. If you can’t find someone, message me, I’ll listen to your stories and send positivity and support any day.

Yandev, I’ve never been as interested in how a game us made than I have been with Yandere simulator. Updstes for other games come out and I shrug, they’re hardly worth my time, but I’m checking your blog every day to see if there’s anything new. New videos, new fanart, new updates. I’ve been following since the game just had a circle of girls and gray hallways. I’ve watched it grow from a simple sandbox to a game with more complexity than some triple A games out there. And I’m excited to see it finished. I see videos on youtube talking about you, and I tell youtube I’m not interested. I’ll trust the you I’ve seen over the last few years, busting your ass to make your vision come to life. You’ll always have my support, and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
If I where being stalked or mentally abused or bad stuff being sent to my house or prank called over and over, I would first address that if you haven’t given out your phone number or address than how are people getting this information??? And most of all it is illegal to constantly harass and stalk you. This would be a matter I would take up with the police and/or a therapist. You should not continue working on your project until your health is normal. Lots of people would agree that your health is more important than a game! This to me is a very alarming matter. And I would want to help as much as possible, if I know the person or not
The police wouldn’t do anything, and people get that info by doxxing. The only way he could prevent all this would be by moving houses and changing numbers, and even then it might not work.
But I do agree YanDev should go see a therapist, because there’s no way for a human being to go through all this without professional support. It’s like asking an athlete to go to the Olympics without ever talking to a nutricionist. It might sound unrelated, but it’s actually impossible to go without.
I follow your game on and off, because of my life and responsibilities devowering free time too often. But, i find the “controversial” subject and tone to be a great one with many comical moments and touching on the cruelties of our modern cultures to be refreshing from the commonly popular games out there. You have concepted and put together something that is genius, and it is an honor to have addressed someone with such creativity in the past.
It saddens me that these “gremlins” (I would have utilized a far more ruthless and tactless descriptive) have battered you down so much that you question continuing. I am but one person among thousands and thousands, and I hope from one person to another that persue their creative dreams it makes some difference.
Remember those that do give a damn to the person as well as the project. Those that do not care about garbage spewed out, but you displaying an update with the pride and joy of the sharing with these accuantances. The greatest happiness I take in is when I offer a writing or a piece of art to people, even if its not great and those i share with give helpful critisms. Because they appreaciate the sharing. This is the first Yandev video to make me tear up. This is like watching a loved one go from being bright and bubbly to depressed and suicidal. There’s this sense of urgency now, because I absolutely adore this game. This game has given me so much inspiration and fun and I still believe, no matter how long it takes or what the reputation of the developer is, that it will be an excellent game. It’s original, and one of the most influential things in the gaming community right now. Whether that’s due to gossip or not, it would be such a shame to see this game never reach fruition. I know for a fact that I will never see Yandev as anything but a strong, independent game developer that has endured what nobody, let alone an amazing and talented programmer, should ever have to put up with. To see an idol even consider giving up what has become a part of my life now and one of my favorite games, it feels like such an injustice. I judge Yandev off of what I see on his blog. Nowhere else, not even his gaming streams. You don’t bring irrelevant personal things into professional work. And what i’ve seen of developer Yandev is a precious gem among the developer world that does not deserve to be brought down by pettiness. Even if I am the last supporter standing, I will love this game. I hope Yandev sees this because this game is important to so many people, and I sincerely hope with all my heart that he gets through this and comes out the other side with an iconic piece of art and a mindset that knows thousands of people still adore and love him.

I’m sorry but I’m not here to tell you what you want to hear (=”Gremlins” as you call them are assholes and you are just an innocent victim in this), simply because you get enough of that support, and also because it won’t help in the long run. And I do want to help.
Three years ago or so, before this whole mess really started, I googled you and found dirt about you being spread by a certain woman you probably recognize. I was shocked at first but quickly realized she was way dirtier herself, and decided that no matter what you may have done or said when you were younger and more insecure, you were doing a great job as a video game developer and that was all that should matter to me, considering I don’t know the first thing about you anyway.
It is obvious from the content you make and the things you say that you are a very clever man. You know what the solution to this is. You need to talk about what started all this. I don’t mean the stupid shit people keep creating and that are just here to keep feeding the fire. I mean the ugly stuff, the kind of stuff I found and decided to ignore, and that other people used to gain popularity and feed their ego. And don’t do it vaguely like you usually do, because it’s useless, that sort of impersonal talk does not convince people. You need to be as precise as you can. If you call out the worst part of it, you will render the “Gremlins” powerless. It will be painful, and for sure a lot of people will react violently to it, but people can identify with shame and guilt. That’s what absolutely everyone is made of in our society, it should be too hard for you to make them relate to it. Also, you are creating a fucking brilliant game which is the reason why people check your blog and watch your videos in the first place. Even your detractors want to play it and will continue checking in. That’s what insures you that you won’t lose your fan base after adressing the very ugly stuff. People always imagine that things are worse than they really are, because THEY are worse than people see them. Be truthful, don’t omit a single thing, and you will be done with that stupid shit from years back.

I was never disappointed in you and your game, and I don’t care about this false image that these people made about you. I can say for sure that I’m not alone with this and we would be extramely happy to see you to be happy and successful. I’m not worried about the gossip and drama, but I really hope that you’re alright. Or, at least, that you can take a break and be alright, with people understanding that you’re human too. You don’t always need to stay strong, because humans aren’t perfect. But I just hope that if you fall down, you can get up again.

You seem to like things to be organized and in neat little packets, so I’ll make this a bullet list:
1. Still a fan. Still like your project.
2. It’s good you’re doing these videos if you need an outlet for your feelings. Still, I can’t talk for others, but personally I think I would not have been exposed to the cherry picking, post necromancy, etc. if you’d not have made these videos.
3. Even after hearing about it from you, I did go and look for some of the slander, and did not see any merit in it. Everyone (mentally) over the age of 13 should know that stuff you did when you were younger does not NECESSARILY reflect on who you are. It’s only if one keeps acting that way when the history of behavior becomes relevant.
4. You gotta think for a second, who are you making this for: Is it your dream project and you would have done it even if you were alone on a desert island? Are you doing it for the fans that DO like you (but from obligation, not for yourself)? Or are you doing it to gain the acceptance of these haters – by pandering or by proving them wrong? I don’t think it should be the latter, and I think you know it too. If it’s the first and / or second ones, good on you, and these bad people should not be an issue – always remember that.
5. You’re also suffering from your own selective eyesight. Sure there are vocal haters. But you have a LOT more fans that do support you, vocally or silently. By believing that the haters are turning ALL your fans against you, you are falling to paranoia, and namely falling into their trap. Don’t let them win, most of us are still behind you (and those that aren’t, were probably fair-weather fans that were in it for the memes / the novelty anyway).
6. Aside the point from the bullying and not succumbing to it: If you had any real-life threats, serious online abuse, or are being stalked / physically mailed things – please seek the authorities about it. You should keep yourself safe regardless of whether you decide to ignore the underlying message.
7. Under no effect from the slander, I do have some CONSTRUCTIVE thoughts on how you are managing this project and what could help you feel better about it – but I do not wish to post them here since I would not want to start a bandwagon of haters to twist my words. If you comment on this, I can contact you (and prove it is really me) and share my thoughts. *For the most part*, I think you’re doing things right, it’s just some small things with large effects that I think are holding you back.

I am not a strong person. You asked what I would do if this were happening to me? I would give up. I would crumple. I would stop talking to people. I would change my accounts to get away or maybe just leave completely. I already don’t leave my house. A little more isolation would be so much easier to deal with than daily abuse. And not working on a project just means more time to lose myself in things that actually make me happy.
You have my admiration and respect for your emotional fortitude. Seeing those hateful, bile-filled videos in my recommended list makes me physically ill. I was hesitant to even watch this video because I don’t deal with hate-filled people well at all. But I wanted to support you. And I’m sorry I can’t give you any more support then these words on the screen and the tears I’ve shed in empathy for your situation.
Even if you pull the plug and disappear I want you to know that your work has brought me and my brother a lot of happiness. Yan-chan and her rivals and schoolmates are characters I’ll remember for a long time. To me Ayano has become the face I think of when I hear the word Yandere. I’ve enjoyed all the fanart and videos of people playing the builds of your game and enjoying themselves. I haven’t drawn any myself yet because I am very far behind in my own projects and most days lack motivation to work. And that’s with supportive and understanding clients. If they were nasty, accusatory and unsympathetic I’d just give up completely. But I hope that it brings you happiness to see that your work inspires others to work too.

Gremlins are those who have given up on their dreams, those who are themselves too lazy, too dumb or too ignorant to try and change anything. And they feel the need to bring everybody down to their level in order to feel valid.
They have deep seated problems, typically from bad parenting, and they lash out in order to gain some kind of recognition. It being better to be infamous than ignored.
I feel empathy for these sad, broken people. They really are a pathetic lot, whoever they turn out to be.
Do not fear the words of ignorant people, for it is them that we have warning signs on our peanuts saying, “Warning: Contains nuts”
Besides, why hide from the truth? It only means they’re getting to you. Accept your faults, for it is human nature to make mistakes, but it is also human to learn from them and evolve. You are a better man than you were then, and you will be made better in spite of them.
They will never learn, they will never change, and they, unlike you, will achieve nothing.
Your resilience is extremely admirable, and fact that you created this video proves your best intentions and very mature approach to the whole situation. The fact that there are people ready to claim the opposite really saddens me greatly.

I very much look forward to the completion of this game, no matter how long it takes. As a matter of fact, hearing about the shit you’re going through has made me decide to double down on my support. Screw the gremlins. Year after year, we’ll keep supporting you!
I’ve been a fan since the first build with the first blue-haired clones of Yan-chan. I’ve seen the impressive leaps and bounds you’ve made and how far you’ve come. Your health comes first, but I sincerely encourage you not to give up!

Hey Yanderedev. I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve been going through all this, and I hope things get better for you soon.
I am a long time lurker who has been following the game for years. Your video has drawn me out from my dark corner.
What would I have done in your shoes? I’d have been too frustrated by the situation to remain silent, because these people are wrong and I don’t want them spreading misinformation about me. So I would have made a video addressing each and every one of their points – if I fucked up, then I’d own up to it and move on. If it’s complete bullshit, then I would deconstruct and disprove it as logically as possible.
If they’re wrong, they will unfortunately stay wrong (and spreading this wrong information) until they are given definitve proof that they are wrong, so I’d correct them since I know the right answer.
Personally, I’m not concerned by any of the gremlin arguments because I know they’re either bullshit or stuff that happened too long ago to be an accurate representation of your character. However, I voted the second option on the poll because I think a video addressing everything is a good idea. Here’s why (aside from my obvious bias cause it’s what I would have done):
1. This is the kind of stuff that will continue to eat you up inside until you get it off your chest. From the sounds of things, these claims have been haunting you for years – so please, allow yourself to address these claims head on so that you might finally put them behind you.
2. A video like this will be great for clearing things up for anyone who has questions or doubts. If you address these concerns with proof and logic, they won’t go to the gremlins for answers, therefore they won’t become gremlins themselves.
I truly do love Yandere Simulator, so my motivations are selfish in saying this but I really hope you won’t quit developing the game. However, if that’s the decision you come to, I completely understand. Your personal health is far more important that the game.
There might be people out there hell-bent on hating you, but there are even more people who will stick through with you till the end. You have many more devoted fans than you do haters (and I am one of them, though all I do is lurk).

First of all, I’m sorry people got to that extent. Receiving police threats and harassment mail is terrible.
However, not all people are gremlins or fans. World isn’t black and white. I believe that there were well intentioned people trying to help. Sadly, you shut them down, sometimes pretty badly. Being depressed is not an excuse. Also, you need to differentiate critisism at you and criticism at your work. They are different things. Also, how are we supposed to contact you to clear misunderstandings if you called people who contacted you Midoris and called them dumb and stupid? It was not directed to one specific person but weren’t you a gremlin to them, only picking a bad side about them, mocking them and criticizing them very harshly? Banning people at the most small critic? Not only that, but those people went to alternate resources for answers and this is the result.
You need help. A therapist could be a good idea. I’m not saying this as a gremlin or hater but as a fellow person who has mental health issues. Most people don’t want to get a torch and light you on fire like you think. Most people want the project to succeed. I, personally don’t care about your past. We all have been stupid teenagers once. You need to realize videos and posts like this only refuel the drama and you don’t want that. Take a small break with no internet and focus on what you want to do.

Yandere dev, on a personal level, you should not take into account the rumors that speak about you. All those people who are dedicated to discredit others, all those negative foci of nonsensical comments, exist for a very simple reason. They are not capable of doing something like you are doing, they do not have the capacity and perseverance to take on such an ambitious project, supported and loved as you have done. You must have a clear conscience that you have not done anything wrong, that there are many people who love you, support you and wait for you with a big smile, for what you work. Rest assured, once you have everything done, your project is finished and prove that all the effort you have put in, with the game over. They will have no choice but to accept that they lost the war, that they are people whose own life does not support them and that no matter how much they tried to satisfy that dissatisfaction with their own life, when they harassed you, it did not work out. You will see that everything you do or do will come back to you, like Karma.

I immediately fell in love with your game and I saw all your videos about it despite the different language. I saw all the YouTubers’ video about your project (they make it very funny) and I saw all the phases of yandere simulator and how it evolved. It’s incredible all the progresses you made. Please…. don’t give up. Your game was the first thing I’m really interested of. Don’t forget you made a promise to that girl… Don’t disappoint her, neither us, your fanbase that want only your success and goodness. I don’t care what people can think of. I don’t care if I’m not an adult for this game. I don’t care what people say about you, your past or game. You tried to convince them, you explained the cause of your behavior but they see it as an excuse. It’s useless talking to them as you said. Their life is too boring so they try to ruin the others for fun. Please don’t waste these four worked, important years. I want to play the complete game with all your strength and energy. YanDev, I just… Most of the problems could be solved by you apologizing instead of defending or explaining yourself. Obviously there are things you shouldn’t be apologizing for (especially the nudes thing, everyone with a brain knows it wasn’t your fault and, if anything, you were the victim), but things you are actually ashamed of saying/doing? It won’t stop all gremlins, but it will stop some, and, most importantly, it would stop the conversion of other people into gremlins. I know it’s not easy, but instead of “well, what was I supposed to do when I was in a bad mood because of your part of the community?”, a “I’m sorry, I was in a bad mood and said something I regret, and I’m very sorry if I hurt you” would work way better. I’ve even seen many callouts being rescinded because the person in question apologized: it almost nullifies what was said. This is especially true for things said and done in the past: don’t say “I did it because I thought it was a good idea”, say “I shouldn’t have done it, I thought it was a good idea at the time but it wasn’t, I’m very sorry and will never do it again”. Apologies work way better than explanations, and at worst they’ll only have the same strength.
Also last post I asked you a question and instead of answering it you just said it didn’t matter, so I had to look through lots of goblin propaganda to finally find a source to what I asked you about, and then make my own conclusions… It really didn’t feel like free explanations.
But! One thing I can’t stress enough: don’t even look at the gremlin subreddit or gremlinfarms! Only bad people even go to gremlinfarms, and every time I tried to defend you at the gremlin subreddit I got downvoted to hell – and I saw the exact same thing happen to lots of people – until I gave up on talking there because I didn’t want to lose karma over people who don’t want to listen. If everyone there is talking bad about you, there’s a reason: it’s because the people who didn’t were pretty much kicked out by the people who do. It’s not because everyone has been converted.
Anyway, I’ve been in this exact situation, just in a way watered down way. I’m not saying this as advice, but at the same thing it’s not something I regret doing. I just feel bad about doing it, but if I could go back in time I would have done it all over again. I just abandoned the project. I figured if people really thought I was that bad at doing the project, they could try (and fail) at doing it themselves. They’d taken enough from me.
But I was only one year into the project. You’ve been with YanSim for years, and abandoning it would feel like dying at the beach. You’re so close to the end! And most of us are afraid or too shy to speak up, but please don’t doubt it when I say that the majority of your fans stands with you.
I’m not really good at explaining, so here’s an example: remember when you had to change Nemesis-chan’s appearance? I think that video was a perfect apology. And I think I wasn’t the only one, because I’ve seen a lot of gremlin talk but never saw anyone complain about the whole thing.

About me abandoning that project, it’s not something I’m proud of doing, it’s not even something I liked. Suddenly disappearing lost me a lot of friends, and made me paranoid to the point I had to uninstall what’sapp, create a new telegram account with my mother’s number, showing as offline in steam (which cuts me off all of the social features in it), and only ever use discord on offline mode. I stopped using facebook, too. It’s seriously not something I recommend, and honestly it’s taken a lot from me, but I know I couldn’t have stayed with everything that was going on. I just couldn’t take it.
He should’ve used goblins instead of gremlins. Goblins are the new zombies. They’re showing up in everything, at least in this anime season.
Maybe we can all do something try to get these gremlins channels down by reporting them
First of all, i can’t write like heartwarming sentences like others, so i’ll just say we’re here for you. You made a great point though, when you said that responding to the gremlins, in any way possible, will give these gremlins new materials to work on. This drama has passed for a couple month, and i thought it’s over. But no, it isn’t. It’s getting worse for you. The stalker in real life, sending a weird object to your house, and prank calls? That is a serious crime. You should talk to professionals about this. This isn’t just internet trolls, this is already like wiping someone’s presence. My opinion is you should work on the game, and probably getting a secretary, or someone you trust that won’t turn their back on you, just like someone suggested here. So that you don’t have to directly see those toxic content.

i would try to make jokes about it, with the community. i don’t mean jokes about the gremlins, i mean jokes about the stuff they bad mouth you for.
jokes about “if- else” for example or joke about how you look like or what ever they talking about (sry i don’t listen to this gremlin blogs or videos @@” so i don’t know what they are all about and i don’t care actually)
it’s one of the worst things for some one who bully you to see….. “hey…. he is completely aware of it…. and even his friends (aka. community) laught with him about it”

your comment about steam games interested me, I’ve never refused to buy a game I liked because of the developer being ugly/an asshole/ or just a generally shit person, however, I have refused to buy one that I enjoy if I see that the community around it are a bunch of toxic illiterate morons like those you would typically find on an FPS
I really hope Yandere Simulator doesn’t end up with one of those styled communities or go the same way as Agario- ruined by the community and nobody wants to play any more. (the community then blames the company) that really would be a shame for such a great game to be ruined in that fashion.

I don’t normally take the time to write comments on videos or posts, but I think this one requires it.
First of all, you are not alone. Even if you being a more public persona will of course make things worse, there are a lot of people suffering in this same situation. What I usually do is automatically disregard anyone who’s talking trash about other people, and I never do it myself, even if I’m very angry and have good reason to say that someone is a horrible person. So talking like this about others, harassing them and going out of your way to ridicule them, actually says a lot more about yourself than about this person you are targeting.
What you are building is amazing, please, don’t let those people get in the way of your dream. I know it’s easier said than done, and that’s why I write this comment, to let you know that a lot of us are excited about your work and will be very happy when it becomes a success. Even so, you should still do this for yourself. Don’t let them win and make all your effort go to waste.
About the poll, I have a third answer: I’m not concerned about gossip and will still appreciate the quality of your work regardless, I don’t need any explanations, BUT if you feel like explaining things would make you feel better and release all this anger and sadness you have accumulated, then do it. (not being English my first language I could have made mistakes … sorry in advance hehe! ewe) I think that i need, in the first place, to say that you are admired from all my friends who play your game (I dunno how much it might interest you but I found the need to say it >.<) and obviously you are also admired by me! i have been following the development of your game since the 2015… and in all those years I have noticed the famous gremlins that you are talking about! I have always hated gossiping and the spilling of false news so it never interested me… but with this video I asked myself if I could do something to help you… maybe in the beginning of the fact… I realize how much you are suffering… because even if in other ways I have passed the same thing and seeing how mutch people people love to destroy others disgusts me. If I were in your palce I would just sass and sass and sass everyone that wanted to hate me like they did to you. The control and the patience to not comment on those videos or even adress them directly in their own personal videos takes a level of control, maturity, and just good natured guy attitude that I myself don’t have.If you had my qualities you wouldn’t have been able to get this far in Yandere Simulator.

I used to be bullied from Elementary school to up until the end of Middle school. People never understood me and I was always left out. People would go out of their way to hurt me physically and mentally. I never let it bother me because what they said/did didn’t matter to me because I knew it wasn’t true and there would be someone who would think the same or thought what they did was wrong. I went on to high school and some of my harassers went to the same school as me. I really thought it was going to be a repeat of what I was dealing with but it wasn’t. People who didn’t know me from different schools stood up for me; people never saw me doing anything wrong and stopped it for me. After being bullied for a majority of my childhood and part of my adolescence, I realized ways to get people to stop attacking me
If someone said something bad about me, I would directly say in front of them and others how much it hurt in a respectful manner.
When I said that, they didn’t want to be painted as the bad guy so whenever they tried again they had to be very discreet going about it. Inevitably, it becomes impossible to tarnish someone when your own credibility level is low. I presented my issue in a way so people who were truly humane saw. Also, I had to handle it in a mature way to be credible enough to for people to understand how I felt and trust me. Of course what they said hurt and when I tried to fight sometimes I became irritable it got worse, however letting people know how negativitity is making you feel can be key. The way you handled the video was very mature and it showed me, a part of the audience who is interested in you game and understands how it is to be a target, that you are suffering and dealing with lack of motivation. This is the best way you could have handled it and I’m very glad you told us in a lengthy video to immerse people who could not understand your pain otherwise. I don’t care about what anyone has to say about you, I know how it is to be on that ends of the stick when you’re questioning if it’s even worth it anymore. I still get like that to this day when on my path to becoming a programmer as well. Yet, it’s not like before where I had no support. You have people supporting you and I’m glad you opened our eyes to what’s been affecting your livelihood. You continue Yandere Simulator and there will still be tons of people happy to play your game. For those to succumb to the false rumors, it’s on their stupidity and gullibility that will hinder them from playing an amazing game. There’s still a reason to keep going, the people who don’t care about your rumors and think nonsense of them exist! We will be here for you and stay by your side until the end! Yo. Usually, I’m not a fan of drama n’ shit, but this honestly touched me as a person rising to become a fellow content creator. I’ve seen these guys’ videos in my recommended before, and I chose to avoid watching them because I used to try and involve myself in that type of stuff before. In the end, it kinda screwed me over mentally. But this is different because as selfish as it is, it kinda involves people like me. In terms of my future and the career I want, I feel like I’m looking at a warning of what would be in store for me if I choose that path. To be fair, I don’t think any other path would work for me other than being a damn housewife, but… seeing this just shows me how more and more real it gets. It’s like seeing a person die for the first time when you want to grow up to become a soldier or something. So just know this: You got a lot of people watching you, and it’s not just those unprofessional fuckers whose videos and presentations are just so… shallow and unprofessional (hell, even my sophomore thesis essay was better than that. Introduction, body paragraphs, support info, rebuttal, closing, and overall specific, decent, and consistent. But I digress). There are people like me who follow you for the sake of learning what its like to be a content creator. Even better, a content creator that is a PERSON. If you give up now, then what hope and courage would people like me have left in the face of gremlins that would one day come after us as well. You’re not only teaching us the inner workings of making a game in a way we find interesting in our own way but now, you’re showing us the reality of making a game as a real human being against other human beings. So, you could give up, lose, and disappoint the people learning from you, who some, in turn, would fall with you. That, or you could keep going. Feel free to throw in a video while you’re at it, but it won’t change the words of the people watching you. It just MIGHT do something, but in the end, finishing the project is what really matters. Finish Yandere Simulator, and you will feel something great for overcoming a great struggle as you rise higher and higher in front of a large audience. Finish Yandere Simulator, and the game developer community won’t lose a lot of potential content creators who might have great talent. Finish Yandere Simulator so that WE don’t fall with you. Finish Yandere Simulator so you could burn these poor fuckers down, and show you could fight back.
But if it’s taking a toll on you that much, I suggest you take a break for a couple months or so. Your health first, the project can be finished at a later date. You handle what goes here on after that your own way, just know that we support you. And don’t forget that we also look up to you as a teacher in a way. Don’t teach us how to fall. Teach us how to respond and practice self-care in the face of hatred. You, WE, can do this. Take this as a learning experience, I look forward to the next lesson.
So here’s how it is for me as a fan of your game, I have to see things progress fast, that’s just the way I am. This isn’t progressing fast for whatever reason, i’m not really concerned why that is since I don’t have that kind of emotional range for people. So…
Rather than be a brain dead moron who spends their time slandering people I choose not to follow development as closely as I used to, I still support your game and would love to see the end result, i just don’t wish to follow development closely and see slow progress. i’d much rather come back every 6 months when more will have happened.
Equally, i’m not going to start idolising like these stupid people do who think you can do no wrong and that you’re just an angel- that’s not the case either, just like it annoys me to see blind hate toward people it annoys me just as much to see people blindly defending someone from hate, there are times when people deserve the slander that is being directed at them and do not deserve to be defended against it.

I have made a few long comments on other websites before, but most of these comments have covered it for me so I’ll just say this:
I had experienced a very similar situation. When I first went to secondary school, I made a few nasty comments to people and this caused me to get a bad reputation and experienced 3 and a half years of constant rumours, bullying, harassment etc. Throughout these years I developed depression, and it only got worse. I couldn’t focus in class, I started failing class and I became very afraid of people outside of my comfort zone. I tried to ignore it, but you can’t. My family tried to sort this out with the school, and I even apologised to everyone I could have hurt. But it didn’t work, they kept on going. However… something made me smile that wasn’t an act I put on. In December of 2014 I found a this game and the development blog. Usually I don’t like developed games because I didn’t have patience. Yet I still kept coming back every week, every day. I don’t know why. Something about watching something grow interested me. Throughout the years I heard the rumours of Yandere Dev, I looked at them, and personally I didn’t believe it. How could a man so dedicated to a project build it into an amazing game. And also, I knew how it felt to be falsely accused based on one mistake in the past.
This made me certain. Im going to continue to follow this game and Yandere Dev for as long as I can. Now i’m in my last year and staying strong thanks to Yandere Dev. And I don’t care of what all the negative stuff will be said about me or this comment, if you leave a negative reply, I wont respond, waste of time.

To be honest, I’m not one for YouTube drama and rumors and hate videos. I’ve never really heard hateful things about Yandere-dev before, but I understand that people out there do exist and they will not stop until their “message of truth” is spread to everyone. I take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt on the Internet. Sometimes with buckets of salt. You can’t assume anything on this massive platform of mixed lies and truths.
That being said, if no one knows what to believe in anymore, it can make it difficult to support anyone we meet on the internet. What sucks is I feel like by saying “just ignore it and work on the game” I’m dismissing YanDev’s feelings about the situation he’s in. Like I’m saying to suck it up and ignore his own frustrated thoughts. That just isn’t right. It’s perfectly reasonable why he’s frustrated and depressed. It’s a normal reaction to have to being harassed and bullied. More people need to understand that he can’t just “block out the haters” because they’re becoming more than just haters that are there to hate on stuff. They are becoming a genuine RISK to his mental health and need to be handled with serious care.
Making a game and learning coding and scripting and bug fixing. It’s all ridiculously overwhelming stuff to do on your own. Anyone saying he’s lazy for “not working on the game” clearly hasn’t been paying attention to what all goes into just a single scene in a game. All these gremlins dragging him down is making the process even more tedious and just degrading. They only have themselves to blame to any delays in updates and production. At this rate, with how gremlins treat content creators, I’m kinda all for censorship of distasteful comments. And to people that are all like “but freedom of speech!” Look. If your “free speech” is in conflict with another person’s pursuit of happiness, then guess what? It’s. Not. Right. Just like if someone else’s pursuit of happiness comes into conflict with another person’s right to just be alive. Cause let’s face it, “just let people do what makes them happy” is not a good code to live by UNLESS there are stipulations. It makes gremlins HAPPY to ruin lives and they have fun tearing people down, but that doesn’t mean we should allow them to do it and just “ignore” them. They’ll only get more creative in their propaganda until they gain listeners again. Some may stop being gremlins and move onto something else, but others always take their place. If only people could understand that YanDev’s personal life is NOT their soap opera. Seriously. If the man wants to have a cheat day on his diet, quit fricken hovering over his decisions. These people are like helicopter parents, it makes me embarrassed to think that they consider themselves as part of the fan base

I really do not think you should get down on account of the people who want to knock you down, for me they just want you to not succeed, but I know you can do it :), I advise you not to call this matter anymore or point your accusers, because this will generate a much bigger problem than you have now, instead of helping you, it will end up disturbing you, from time to time and ignore those assholes that want to take you down!

This sounds close (just your’s is on a much larger scale) to my bullying history.
Spoke louder, said some controversial things (on a middle school level), people started to think I’m aggressive, people bullied me for aggression (includes being laughed at, being played and being physically hit), I became aggressive (reacted with a few Insults, hit back), they felt great because they were “right all along”. So they bullied me more, and the cycle repeats.
The only way I found to deal with them?
Therapy. Like you said- explanations won’t get to them. If you explain slowly, you’re “taking too long” and “That’s a sign of being a liar”. If you explain aggressively, they’ll think they are right. If you try something between the two, it’s both.
You need to make sure that it doesn’t damage you further. You need someone to talk too, who is neutral on the whole story. You need someone who can give you further support (like medication or more intense therapy) for your issues. Before or because these issues grow to full blown mental illnesses. Don’t wait until you can’t even get up anymore, until you lose your motivation to sleep and eat. Don’t wait until you start self harming. Don’t wait until your friends and family approach you. If you feel horrible, and can’t just ignore it, do something/get someone to do something.
Therapy won’t stop the gremlins at once. But if you don’t react, they slowly lose their interest. If they can’t find new stories, they get bored. One day, it will be alright.
