This entire video is just going to come across as more whining, you do realise. If you finish the game then they’ll have no justifiable reason to hate on you and then it’ll all blow over…
Okay, you know what yandere dev is working hard to get the game out as fast as he could. Go to his shoe for a moment lets just say you were working on a game that everyone wants to be done but people are making false stuff about you(like you raping someone or something)your going to be depressed. Also if the game is done yandere dev will still be in the dirt if he didn’t do anything about it.
I know right. It annoys me how many yandev fans there are who blindly believe he is amazing and it’s all the haters’ fault that he doesn’t make a lot of progress on the game. They play a factor, obviously, but yandev needs to take some responsibility.

Even with this description I can’t possibly manage to put myself in your shoes. This sounds like absolute hell and my depressive/suicidal tendencies would definitely take a large toll. YandereDev, you’ve been making content about this topic for a while now but Im guessing it has been going on for longer than that and much heavier than what you’ve been presenting to us until now. The best I can do is wish you the best and hope you can stay strong through this until it passes. I honestly don’t care about any rumors, but in the end, a person can only do so much. Eh, tbh people just like to dirty shiny things if you get what I mean. All the points in your video about it backfiring makes 100% since. Some people are just natural dick heads. They abuse and use you, or just flat out ignore anything you say to them. But if you focus on the bad stuff, you won’t really see any of the good shit. Like people just need to find something better to do with their time then fuck with people. It’s like something a dam child will do, grow up. You have people who will always support you, that won’t change. But of course, there is always a negative to something good. You will always have people who will hate you. Maybe you can change their mind, maybe not. But you shouldn’t focus on them. You care about what your fans have to say, you care about their opinions, just like a normal person. Most game devs or major game companies aren’t open to the public about their game development. But you’re here throwing out content and listening to what thousands of people think about your work. I can’t say I understand exactly how you feel, but I was thoroughly bullied several years ago and I do remember what that felt like. Those who are against you will count this as more whining and those who never cared about the drama will start getting upset at how much attention the drama is getting, or think it’s already over. Even if the actions themselves are “over” or at least in the public eye, the feelings stick with you for a long time, and you don’t know if they’ll ever go away. But trust me when I say you can get through this, and you’ll be all the stronger for it. I’m truly, truly sorry you have to go through this, and have been having to go through this for so long, but I guarantee there are at least some people out here, myself included, who understand the difference between mindless gossip and bullying and true constructive critisism. This isn’t to say you’re perfect, no one is, but everyone should be allowed to make mistakes. Bullies, particularly those on the internet from what I’ve seen, try to erase that fact. So take your time, turn to those who still support you, and do whatever makes you as happy as you can be.

honey, I feel your pain. I was for the most part exactly in your shoes….being harassed, having every one who you thought knew you better turn on you within days, debating on defending yourself even though it will only make so many things worse. That was my High school experience for about 2 years. And I don’t want to just be here spilling out every single personal details…But here’s my advice the best way to get past it is to keep on pushing, don’t stop what you love doing juts cause come people have their egos shoved up their butt that they get high form attention. Do what you love, and trust me..it will get better. It really will get better, cause that high can’t and will not last forever.

Yandere Dev, don’t listen to the haters. I personally believe that you should continue the project. If you answer the gossip, you feed the gossip. You’ve spent so many years working on this game that if you stopped then the gremlins will get what they want. Don’t let those gremlins get satisfaction. Even if everyone burns you down, me and my sister will stand by you, even if we are standing alone. Try and stay positive.
I’ve been following the game’s development since 2015 and I’m so impressed with all the progress you made and how incredible it is to see a project being built piece by piece and resulting in something so extraordinary as Yandere Simulator is turning out to be. It truly hurts my heart knowing that someone so hard working and dedicated is going through this horrible scenario and being so affected by it. YanDev, your work is amazing and you are amazing! Nowadays is everyone trying to kick each others chairs to make them strangle to death. I wish I knew what to do in this situation and give advice to you, but I don’t. For what I’ve known most of people that follow your work are not aware of any of this “gremlin” harassment, including myself, obviously it doesn’t mean is not happening, and that is not bad, but I see it was a way proving that those
“gremlins” are trying to make themselves seem more threatening than they actually are.
There is only so much I can say in your support, being those:
1. Me and thousands of other Yandere Simulator fans don’t give a fuck about gossips and drama, and will be supportive towards you.
2. You are doing everything you can, and you are being amazing at it, people who say other wise are stupid assholes who don’t have any idea how hard it is to do what you are doing and still keep going, and that’s exactly why those people don’t deserve any of your neurons burnt because of their stupidity .
3. The option I advice you, and honestly the only option I think you should consider is: Keep going, with all that you got (which is a lot, seeing how much effort you put into the game) and imagine how great it will feel when you finally achieve the goal you were working for years!

What to do, I recommend talking to your fans, the ones with questions about things. Those fans want to hear and clear up things.
I’ll be honest here, because I genuinly want answers. Yes, YandereDev, I have seen and heard the drama revolving around you. Yeah, a lot of it is really stupid, I know. Which is why I don’t listen to it. I’ve been a fan since early 2015, so much so I remember the original students, original school, etc. Yeah, at first, I though you were amazing, funny, and kind to your fans. But after a while, things began to change. You started treating your fans rudely, you started to get mad more and more, and it felt like you were blaming us for a lot of things. I was tired of being put in the same category of 1% assholes. You made Midori to represent them, and you’d constantly call her annoying. That hurt to be perfectly honest, because people like me have supported you for so long, and then that. Remember back in June when you told us to go ahead and ignore the game until it’s ready? I though you said you were worried people would loose interest in the game and do just that! I support the game, I think it’ll be amazing. However, I don’t know how I feel about you anymore. I would definitely appreciate a response. This may not be about the “gremlins”, but this clears some things up for me personally. Thanks so much.

I just wanna say that there are people out here that support you and your project because we believe in you. I know negative comments tend to sting more than the good ones can heal, but I hope you can keep pushing forward and find a way to see just how far you’ve come and how amazing you are. We’re all human even if it’s hard to remember that when looking at people through a screen. As for your question as to what I would do in your situation, I would take a step back and try to come back to what got me into the project in the first place, try to get back to working on it for me and no one else. I’ve been following your progress on YT since 2016 actually, but haven’t played the debug in a LONG time.
But let me just tell you that I love your visions for the game! And even just as an unfinished V-slice I think it already has really nice gameplay! (I love watching youtubers play it)
But to get back on topic, I think it was a good step to let your loyal audience publically know what’s been going on behind closed doors. (For me at least behind closed doors, I’m only really active on YT and hated those clickbaity TRUE YANDEV type videos in my recommended)
I did actually vote on your poll, that I don’t care much for drama and the like, but now that I’ve cast my vote I really thought;
Man, if you only post this Gremlin-Video then the Gremlins would have more hate-fuel because of it, whereas the true fans, who only come to see the cool new stuff YanDev puts in the game, are left confused and unsure.
What you’ve done so far with the game is dang awesome and I personally wouldn’t mind you keeping to yourself without addressing every single thing ever. BUT knowing how it makes you feel to be unsure of wether or not to talk about this at ALL, It may actually be the best course of action to give a full view from your side of the story. No accusations, no rude remarks, nothing snarky, I imagine something like a… Making-Of in the movies section. The movie is already done, but in the making-of the creators can express their thoughts, feelings, experiences, hardships, background info and the like. Maybe that would be a possible ideo for a video? Commenting over screenshots or callout posts (without actually naming the creators aka Gremlins)
I love what you do YanDev, and you yourself are a pretty nice guy in my opinion. Hope you get better and can rekindle your passion for YandereSimulator! I’ll still be there to cheer you on!

Yandere Dev. This video is everything explaining the simple question: Why. Why spend your time trashing someone? Why spend your time and effort on making or proving rumors? Why should anyone be willing to see, hear, or think in such a way? It’s all the same question…with no real answer. It was truly heartbreaking to watch this video and try to contain myself. In every word you said, I heard pain. I felt pain. It was all said with pain. I heard regret, depression, and unwilling. But, that’s not the part that nearly pulled tears out from my eyes.
It’s the part where you took every emotion and put it all in 22 minutes and said it in of the most professional and creative way I’ve ever heard. For too long, I’ve waited for a video just like this. Where you finally broke and presented every painful thing in your mind, and remained calm. If I were in your situation, I wouldn’t even be here anymore. My grave would’ve been finished, and my gravestone trashed for everything I’ve ever done.
In my opinion, you should push forward. You don’t have to ignore everything going on, you just need to push forward. As much as you believe your future is gone, there’s still people willing to pick you up and carry you straight to the finish line. The cheering crowd maybe small, but it’ll be better then hearing no cheering. You need to understand that. As much as the support as went away, it’s still there. People are still supporting you, people are still willing to help you, people are still here for you.
And I am one of those people. While everything I heard about you was disappointing, it wasn’t enough to completely warp my mindset. It wasn’t enough to turn me into a “gremlin”. The people still supporting you aren’t the kind to try and fail something, and never try again. We’re the kind that will say “oh well” and try again later. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been bullied and targeted for harassment before. I know it how much it sucks, and there were days I wasn’t able to function because of it either. I was lucky to have my family and some really terrific friends support me though that difficult time. Otherwise, I might have just been another statistic.
YandereDev, I’ve been following your game for a very long time now and despite not loving anime or manga, your game stood out to me because of its interesting plot, lovable characters and cool developer who commented on videos and made frequent progress towards the game he had so much interest in. I think 2015 was your peak. You seemed excited about what will come to be, but, based on some of your blog posts 2016 was the year where things began to slowly drift apart. Other than a few awesome mechanics such as matchmaking, updates became more sparse and lackluster and it came across as laziness to a lot of us, including me. It sucked to wake up super early before school and check your page (1st and 15th) and seeing “fixed bug….” “new easter egg….” “new animation…” etc.
Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like at that time you were making dumb excuses and had shitty time management and it felt like everything was kind of kept away from us. Cut to 2017-2018 where the drama was, and still is at its peak. I found out about some shitty things you did in your past and it hurt to see my favorite developer as a perverted asshole who pretends like his past never existed. Obviously, I have a brain and saw that some people were painting you as a cunt for things that are irrelevant, but some things, they were serious. A few months ago, I grew more and more upset with some of the reactions you had to the drama. Honestly, realize that a victim mentality isn’t gonna convince others of your argument. But this, this is a new low. What the fuck were you thinking? This is the least mature video I’ve ever seen. A bunch of excuses compiled into a scripted video and comparing people saying your coding isn’t the best to being fucking exiled from the universe. I think you should make a final video about this, not acting like a baby, no scripts, just full blown honestly. I’ve been following your work for two years and I’m sure you live your life for this game. We don’t always tell people the things we love about them, assuming they know, but I’m convinced you’re a very hard-working person, and I really admire the things you can do. I have a really hard time with programming, but I always think of your work to feel a little more motivated. You truly amaze me. I wouldn’t imagine someone could make a project this good, considering all the things you have to take care of so it can be what you want it to be. You’re truly ambitious and put your heart and mind to it, I’m really glad you’re putting so much thought in the details. Through those years you’ve exceeded my expectations.
I really don’t think it’s a majority of the fandom who thinks or believes these things. Most poeple in the internet just don’t give their opinions when watching anything, but if people who don’t like what they’re watching, they’ll say it. If 100 people watch a video, but five don’t like it there’s gonna be for sure five comments on the style of ‘keel urzlf fagg’ and maybe other five comments of people who express their love for the game or give positive, useful feedback, so one cannot rely on those things to know how the fandom is feeling.

When I first saw your project I knew this would be something great to support. I just wish I would have known what this would become. As we all know, the internet is where sick and twisted people live to feast on the way we feel, but it also a place of encouragement and support; the problem is that it can be hard to turn away your head to look in the direction of your supporters. The people tearing down your reputation and hope have already created a huge, back spot which is IMPOSSIBLE to ignore and will take time to wipe away. If you’ve lost hope, look for the hope and inspiration you have given others! Things will circle back and you’ll get you hope encouragement when it does.

I would advise seeing a therapist. I know your schedule is tight and you might hardly get any time. But it would really help considering what you have been through for so long. I personally don’t care about the drama but a good chunk of the community does(not insinuating that they are gremlins, but they’d like everything addressed).
If I were in your situation, I might consider having a secretary to filter the negativity. I know you dont want a secretary, might they leak something. But now is a good time to decide otherwise. That was me answering on what you should do.
I’ve been in this kind of situation before, and I know exactly what it’s like to have people gossiping about you with an twisted and deformed picture of you. However, while being similar, my story is far less extreme than this. Allow me to share my experience and how I managed to solve the issue.
So basically, on a forum website (which I won’t name for several reasons), I started posting threads with stories about unique and/or interesting things I’ve been doing at school. This forum is only used by a few thousand users with about 80% of those accounts being inactive, while in your case it would be several million.
I have heard and seen for myself terrible things you’ve said to others. Things you said are disgusting, and do paint you in a terrible light. This being said, I do not believe you are a completely terrible person. No, I do not believe you are innocent to some of the things people say about you. At the same time though, you do not deserve harrasment or physical threats. I understand why people would be upset, even infuriated at you, because I once was too. After hearing for myself some of the things you said in the past I was shocked and angry. I thought you to be a person who had done no wrong to their fans, but I then saw I was wrong. Over time I came to understand you and what you’ve done. I know that you likely did not truely mean what you said, but that doesn’t make it forgivable. The thing that has made me forgive you was when a very close friend of mine went through this situation. He was attacked and harrased over a misunderstanding and misinformation. The situation made me reflect on yours. I realized what a fool I had been to never take into consideration that these ‘grimlins’ never once asked for your side to anything. I recognize that I have been blinded by anger and lies and I deeply apologise from the bottom of my heart. I know that doesn’t count for anything, but I do hope that over time you can come to forgive your fans that have been blinded. From now on I will continue to support you and watch for the development of Yandere Simulator, and the development of yourself as you no doubt over come this ordeal.

The first time I know about this game(around 2014, I guess), it makes me really wanna play it. Since then, I start to follow your blog, channel etc.. I love watching you constantly have update about yourself, the development (no matter what minor things or features). I share this channel to others, and they love it too, and even motivate them to develop their own game. You’re truly inspiring haha 🤣

Most of us here care about the game, not you as a person. We barely know you. We just want the game. I know you think we care about your past, but we really don’t.
Let’s say we are waiting for a film to come out that we all want to see, but the director did some weird stuff in his past, we would not care. We just want to see the damn film

You finished the Guidance Councelor, every single club is complete, new characters have been implemented. You need to address questions and answer them properly. That’s why I find it hard to understand why people still want to hear you explaining yourself. Instead of trying to understand technical stuffs that I don’t understand, I simply trust you. Does that sound good? Then I’ll be waiting for the next update of YanSim. Waiting for the next update no matter if it’s good or bad is kind of a fun thing by itself now that I’m aware of it. Your game grew on me like that.
Hey there Yandere Dev, this is my first time commenting on one of your posts, despite having followed this game’s development for a while now. I wasn’t aware of any drama surrounding you until recently and even when I did dig a little deeper to learn more about it, I found most of it really wasn’t noteworthy. The sad truth is that most of the videos I found saying derogatory things about you came across as people whining that the game wasn’t progressing at a pace they would have liked. I personally have found the features you have chosen to focus on to be incredibly gratifying to the game’s development, specifically the backstory for the delinquents and the journalist’s past with Ryoba. The lore you have built into this game truly has the makings of an entertaining anime series if the right people ever were to take notice of it.
Sadly, there isn’t much you can do about the ‘gremlins’ at this stage of the game’s development because once they get started it is nigh impossible to stop them. My one positive note to take away from this whole situation is that even most of your detractors seem to simply want the game to be finished as soon as possible. A lot of this hate is coming from petulant ‘children’ for lack of a better term whose malice is simply coming from the fact that they believe you are withholding their coveted ‘toy’ from them when you actually just want it to be properly assembled before presenting it to them. So I say in the end just work on the game, because it will in fact address the desires of those who are looking forward to the game and don’t care about the drama aimed towards you, and working on the game will also hopefully quell those who falsely believe attacking you will get them what they want sooner.
Anywho, stay strong and know that no matter what happens that you are creating something that you can be proud of at the end of the day, which is so much more than what many people ever end up doing.

So I voted no on the poll, but I do think there should be clarification. If you have done things that you regret, or said things in anger, than it might help to just apologize to the people that you feel you’ve wronged with your actions, if you feel there are any, or if you haven’t done that. That might be a neutral way of trying to mend your rep, because they might understand, and maybe come to your defense. People seeing you make an effort to mend professional or personal bridges might be more constructive in the long run, if only for the fact that you will get some sort of support system back in place yo help you.
Remember that not everyone is out to get you. You still have people on your side. You are not a monster. You are human and it is okay to be unsure.

I want yandere dev to know I’ve been supporting him since the beginning. I always check his blog updates and videos. I play the game and enjoy watching youtubers play the game too. I even messaged him before in group chat but..I was young and stupid back then. I grew up and now a proud adult that doesn’t care about the gremlins propaganda and gossip. I believe in you yandere dev, I always have and always will. Keep it up, I’m excited to see how the games progress goes and I know 100% that I’ll get the game when its finished! Anyways I’m sorry that this is still a problem yandere dev, but you will always have fans that care. I hope this post brings peace to mind.
An extra comment that has not much to do with the situation:
I think if you exclude the parts about your situation as a programmer, the video could very well be a nice self aware video warning naive people about that part of the internet. It is a form of indirect cyber bullying as well. Is it okay to make a separate video out of this video for that reason only? I think it’s nice, but it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it, the whole “what if you are in this situation” thing.
The only way to handle gremlins is to break social conventions. Gremlins constantly take advantage of social conventions. They know this is the situation you’re in. They want you to stay there. So break those conventions. Start with some combination of these:
-Don’t try to defend yourself. Agree with any and all gremlins, and also mention how you eat babies. Some gremlins will get excited. Some will realize how ridiculous they’re being. Some will shrug it off and keep harping on the point. Given the first and third group would’ve kept doing it regardless, the point of this is to create the second group, those who your blunt, offhand self-exaggerations said matter-of-factly will help to realize none of what they’re saying is any better than saying you eat babies. Also, by not needing to defend yourself, you don’t have to play defensive and they can’t twist the words of your defense on you.
-If people want you to see you in a certain light regardless of anything else, shrug and move on. There’s 8 billion people on the planet and there’s certainly more helpers than you’re currently talking to. Certainly there are a few who don’t care about your reputation and will help you regardless of circumstances. No need to use anyone influenced by propaganda. Just keep the names and addresses of those who help you to yourself so the gremlins can’t do anything.
-Don’t acknowledge the gremlins as gremlins. Call them suitors and pretend they’re romantically interested in you. Every time they stalk you, act coy and reach out with an appreciated rejection of their affections. I mean, why else would they go to all the bother of “knowing” you unless they wanted to date you?
Or come up with your own. The idea is refuge in audacity. By acting so outside the normal reaction, so outside of what they expect, and changing it up often enough to trip them up, a few things happen:
1. You can laugh really hard at them. By changing the way you act, you can also change how you see them and encourage others to do so as well. Everyone will start seeing “hating YandereDev” as a meme, not something to take seriously but instead something to laugh at.
2. Their misinformation will be borked. Their misinformation depends on you staying a rational individual. No one who actually listens to you speak will think you’re insane, and if they try to use anything on you at all, their own credibility will be borked. Why? Because anyone with any sense will know you’re just doing it to mess with them, especially if you explain it to your fans beforehand. They can’t just use old information because no one cares about unfresh news. And if they use new information they’ll get laughed at because anything “new” you give them will be so ludicrous that only idiots would believe it. Much like actual tabloids. Thankfully people that dumb are fairly rare. You should retain the majority of your fanbase regardless of what the gremlins say, and the gremlins will look for a new target. One who gives the appearance of acting rationally so they can create rationale for them.
3. It’s fun to mess with people. Especially if they’re doing ALL OF THIS VIDEO to you. So long as you act normally to everyone else and don’t break conventions that’ll get you arrested or attacked, there’s basically no consequences.
