April 2nd Bug-Fixing Build

Whoops! There was a really bad bug in the previous version of the game. I didn’t want to upload a new build with only one change in it, so I fixed a number of other bugs that had been reported. Hopefully, that justifies this update!

To see a list of everything that is fixed or changed in the latest build, please scroll down past this beautiful illustration that CHArice made to celebrate Yandere Simulator’s 4-year anniversary!

I also received some similar illustrations from other fans; thank you all so much for the 4th anniversary fan art! It really warmed my heart!

Fixed, Changes, and Additions

  • I’m aware of a bizarre bug that prevents the Student Info screen from populating with student profile images if the player accesses that screen from Info-chan’s Services menu. Unfortunately, I’ve been unsuccessful in finding the solution to the bug. For now, I’ve simply updated the services menu text to warn the player of the bug and provide instructions for a work-around that forces the images to appear.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent students from being able to reach Kuu Dere in her seat in the library (mind-broken slaves sent to kill her – or students sent to distract her – were unable to approach her).
  • Info-chan will now refuse to perform the “Send Student Home” service if a student is preoccupied with something that would logically prevent them from caring about checking their text messages.
  • Added a small amount of functionality to a model in the Science Club. It doesn’t do anything significant for now…but that might change in the future.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing a smartphone from appearing in a student’s hands when they were receiving a text message.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing Kuudere’s new hair model from being affected by changes in lighting.
  • Fixed bug that could allow the player to use the “Send Home” service on a mind-broken student.
  • Fixed bug causing Nemesis to put a giant black rectangular bar onscreen in Mission Mode.
  • Fixed bug that was making it extremely difficult to punch anyone in One Punch Mode.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing mind-broken students from having “broken eyes”.
  • Restored something that has been gone for a long time.

What’s next?

Now that this bug-fixing build is out of the way, I’m hoping to throw 100% of my attention at implementing the delinquents as soon as possible. Ideally, the next build will feature them…unless another game-breaking bug is discovered, haha! x_x

  1. I have an idea for the end way to win.
Info-Chan is secretly in love with senpai, and is getting you to eliminate the rivals so she can just kill you and get senpai.
She could be a boss battle.

      • @Angelina Duncan
Fun.txt (not exe) was a file used to check the Students.json file for edits and people who tried to add students that were going to be added later. The game itself wouldn’t boot, instead greeting you with a very creepy girl face (Fun-chan) and in creepy lettering a message would appear telling you to not do this… Only nastier.

  2. I wonder if, when more students will be added in the game, there will be some placed into the classrooms during lunch and in the mornings. that’ll probably be the stealthy part of the osana sabotage. Im not so sure if this idea was already mentioned but I think that would be cool not demanding it right away just and idea

  4. I can’t update yandere sim with the new launcher! I can’t seem to download the launcher with my computer!

  5. I can’t get the new launcher. I try to download it but every time I do something in the game isn’t safe for my computer. (probably a bug needing to be fixed) Hopefully you can fix it.

    • False positive. Just ran it through virustotal and it came back completely clean.
      Here’s what I did:
Made a folder for Yandere Simulator.
      Whitelisted the folder.
      Whitelisted my downloads folder.
      Downloaded the launcher.
Security Suite still deleted it, so I hit “Restore” then “Ignore threat” (It had false-positived it as a Heuristic – nasty stuff)
Moved Launcher to Yandere Simulator folder.
      Security Suite blocked the connection.
Changed it from “Block” to “Allow”.
      Launcher works now.

  6. the launcher isn’t working for me still. It now says “To find a version for your PC, Check with the software publisher.” Is the launcher working for anyone else?

  7. I have a bit of concern about the murder suicide… The thing is if a student commits a murder suicide infront of heroic personas and teachers, the teachers and the heroic personas never stop them from continually stabbing the student to death. This you can also make the game harder for the player to eliminate a rival! For an example : After the mind broken/bullied student commits a murder suicide infront of a teacher or a heroic persona, the teacher / heroic persona could stop them from continuing the murder suicide. To make it a bit more difficult is that the mind broken or bullied student is asked by the authorities on why they did it or make the student that was attacked healed and possibly return to school after a few days.

    • i agree completely with you, and i also think that the bullied student shouldn’t kill himself/herself (if there ever will be a male one),she/he wasn’t “broken” by mind torture, but moved by anger to kill the bully, and after the kill she/he should be arrested.

  8. I’m having a lot of trouble with this new launcher. I tried downloading it and it worked, but it just won’t let me play it at all. it says “Place ‘C;\Program Files (x86)\Yandere Simulator'” But I can’t find that file at all?? I miss the old launcher 😦

    • Yeah I’ve been having that same problem. Actually I’m still playing the version that first implemented the student council. I only update the game when I feel enough significant changes have occurred.

  9. i see the launcher is working again is it fixed? or is it just an old thing i have to update because after it said i need to download the new one i downloaded it and it didn’t work now its just working (sorry for my bad English)

  10. I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, YandereDev, but… I was kinda looking forward to an interesting story about a girl with a weird and fascinating form of sociopathy, and not so much to yet another anime story trying to have the most convoluted plot it can. I mean, I COULD still get that interesting story about Ayano’s inner workings that I want, but when you introduce all this stuff about parallel universes and characters being broken across timelines… it’s just… kinda alienating. It could always end up being great, but the risk is that the focus will be too much on this wacky setting and what is essentially magic, and the focus will not end up on the part of the story with the most potential: Ayano and her peculiar mental issues.

Maybe it’ll be great, though. I dunno. It’s just that lots of animes tend to do this and, to me, get much, much less engrossing as they keep introducing more and more overly complex plot points. The characters (their motivations, emotions, and my connection to them) tend to get lost in the shuffle. I hope that doesn’t happen here.

    • Yandere sim has a concept I have never seen before that’s why although the original idea seemed very silly and I have many problems with the “obviously made for boys” game mechanics (panty shots, way more girls then boys, a vague non interesting senpai) I am a great supporter of the game. It gives free will, usually games have the illusion of free will, were you think you can do whatever you want but you still follow a preset storyline (like Danganronpa, Persona series, Final Fantasy etc.). But in this case you really do have free will, so you can play it as you like, you can be all sleuth and dig up the saikou business, you can even go further into magic territory and mess with the demons, or you can be your run of the mill serial killer and only be interested in the rivals themselves and the killings, or not kill anyone at all. So I agree with adding as many side lines as possible, it will also add to play time because after you finish one style you’d wanna go back and try a different one. So don’t feel turned away by parallel universes, because if you’re not interested probably it will be very easy not to get caught up in it. Sorry for the lengthy reply.

      • Oh I’ll definitely still play it because even if I don’t like the story, the gameplay is already good. I’m just worried that the character work won’t be as good as it could be. I could be wrong.

      • Maybe, or maybe not x) It will certainly force us to find an other way to get rid of Osana… Or maybe there’s actually a way to kill her best friend! (whitout modes of course x) ) We should try each way to kill on her… Or maybe it requires a special event…

      • You’ll have to find a way to get rid of her if you want to eliminate Osana in a lethal way I suppose. It’s not overpowered and I actually find this more accurate than being always with Senpai.

    • Usually there’s an option to let websites show up even they’re blocked, maybe try to find this option c: If that doesn’t work, there are many sites where you can download Yandere Sim instead of the usual launcher.

  11. haha today was Chicken Smoothie (A website i play on)’s 10 birthday
almost eight years older than it
    success

  12. Does anyone has this bug that if the police are called to school and at the same time if you stand near the delinquents the police wont turn up to school even if the timer reaches 0 and only comes when the school day ends :1 it looks major cause then killing someone gets wayyy more easier (yanderedev wanted killing someone to be hard)

  13. haha cool. i found fun.txt. YandereDev, I know the date is a little soon and you probably cant do it but, i would LOVE if Osana was finished/released on June 5th, because that’s my birthday. YandereDev probably isn’t going to read this but if he does… Thank you for following the feedback for Yandere Simulator.

  14. Reblogged this on RainbowBlueberry and commented:
Yandere Dev, I am thinking about “The Mystery Person”that will make Osana’s Elumination difficult. Also, I think it would be better to wait for the Delinquents and I think you should make progress to the clubs and their club leaders. That’s my opinion.

  15. hello there !! !
    i have a question for you,yanderedev
are you going to keep the whole thing with getting bonus point when raising your reputation/being able to run faster/bla bla bla by wearing some types of panties? i think it’s really silly and goofy to keep this in the game since it is after all about a fucked up girl that murders others that have a crush on her senpai. plus the idea itself is not the greatest :/
