EDIT 4: Video’s done, now I just need to export it and upload it.
EDIT 3: I definitely should have said “2:00 AM” instead of “1:00 AM”…sorry again…
EDIT 2: I’m sorry, the new video will probably be uploaded sometime around 1:00 AM PST on March 17th!
EDIT 1: I’m sorry, the new video probably won’t be ready until sometime in the afternoon or nighttime on March 16th!
I’m working on a new video, but it’s not quite done yet. For now, you can have this new build, with some bug fixes and a few minor changes / additions. Scroll down beneath this beautiful illustration by NZ-Eon to see a list of all of the changes in this build:
She also drew this super-cool illustration of Osana! I love it!
Fixes, Changes, Additions
- Fixed bug that would occur when Kokona found a note in her locker, rejected it, and attempted to throw it over her shoulder.
- Added Lycoris Radiata around the mythical cherry tree. This is related to the game’s lore. You’ll understand one day.
- Fixed bug that would cause another student’s hair to appear on Yandere-chan’s head in the Befriend/Betray cutscene.
- Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-kun to use female idle/walk/run animations under certain circumstances.
- Fixed bug that would cause the Senpai Shrine to open if the player paused the game while near the shrine.
- Fixed bug that was causing some parts of female Martial Arts Clubmember bandanas to appear black.
- Replaced very old 3D models on the school rooftop that looked extremely out-of-place.
- Replaced some temporary placeholder art assets with original, final assets.
- Removed Yandere-kun’s permanent smirk.
- Changed Yandere-kun’s hair.
i hope yanderedev made a lot of progress this time on osana.
“Added Lycoris Radiata around the mythical cherry tree. This is related to the game’s lore. You’ll understand one day.” that sounds super cool
I checked online and its a flower that symbolises death. Hmmmm… i wonder what that means
what could it mean? you obviously need a genius to figure it out
Hmm…Maybe its from Yandere Chan’s Mom, where she killed her first victim. or not. or…..Something that can kill the rival last minute. But….Is it poisonous?
Or….Somewhere where her mom killed her rival, The….Dude who inventigates things. That Dude. Blah blah blah Her Mom’s Trail, Blah blah blah, That Dude lost his job, blah blah blah. THEN, the teachers put the flower there somewhere in the timeline….
Maybe its where the “SNAP” Feature will work, just think about it, when a rival will confess to senpai, YAN-Chan will be mad and maybe you will have the option to snap, and what happenes will happen😜🔪
Marcuz YOU ARE A GENIOUS!!
All go to the yandere simulator characters website and see the info of the ghost. It says “a flower plucked too soon”
And you ppl who say it can kill a rival or SNAP feature. You are all wrong. Yandev said it relates to the games LORE not a feature.
Maybe one grows everytime you kill a rival
That is where they take the flowers they put on students’ desks when they die from. Or at least those are my thoughts ^*^
this are the flowers from tokyo ghoul, when kaneki is torture and the roses turn red
Maybe the Lycoris Radiata is related to that one myth about it representing star-crossed lovers since for Lycoris Radiata since the flowers and leaves are never together because by the time the plant grows flowers, the leaves have already fallen and by the time the leaves grow back, the flowers have already wilted.
The Japanese name for it is Higanbana (彼岸花 “Flowers of Higan”). In Buddhism, Higan is the other side of the Sanzu River (kinda like the Japanese equivalent of the river Styx), where souls go after they die.
As they tend to grow near cemeteries, they are believed to guide souls to the afterlife and reincarnation (and represent these as well), and therefore a popular flower for funerals.
Due to the fact that they never have leaves while they flower, it is said that they also bloom along the paths of departed lovers or people destined to never meet again.
I know that i’m probably wrong but i do have a theory for what it could mean. The ghost girls description says that she was the first tragedy and a flower plucked to soon;so my small theory is that the spot where the flowers of death grow is where she died. The Sakura Tree’s meaning is the beauty and fragility of life.Combined with those two i think she died there and her love for that boy (Ayano’s father) caused her to reincarnate into that tree and she now watches over the relationships in the school granting success to those with pure intent.I also think that as a private academy the father of the last rival is aware of the fact that many yandere’s have ended up in this school .Over time he decided using them to further his monetary gain by having them weed out the competition among students so that he can allow more in with little suspicion. And i believe as a large corporation in electronics they likely provide the police with security systems, technology, and of course money to keep them quiet and out of the way.I personally think its the perfect scheme for a corp. called Saikou Corp.
I remember seeing lycoris radiata around in Tokyo Ghoul a Kaneki’s undergoes the first major personality shift. I dunno…
2nd.
Wonder what the video’s going to be about?
Osanaaaa
i like osana
Hope so
Can’t wait
There is a thing that caught my attention there:
“Added Lycoris Radiata around the mythical cherry tree. This is related to the game’s lore. You’ll understand one day.”
What do you think?
Lycoris Radiata is known to be showing tribute to the dead, most believe since it is mostly related to deaths, you should not give it to the living…….
What is YandereDev planning?
………….
Gosh, I need to stop theorizing
Ah don’t worry, when he releases it, Game Theory will help US theriorize.
well it’s said that under big Sakura trees Corpses are buried…. so uhmmm maybe that’s why?
Yeah and if the flower symbolizes death.
But here is my theory in the yandere sim characters website the ghost girls info says “a flower plucked far too soon”
Lycoris Radiata blooms when there has been heavy rainfall, and the bulbs are extremely poisonous.
Maybe it will be like the flower placed on the rival’s desk to symbolize everyone wanting her dead
That is where they take the flowers they put on students’ desks when they die from. Or at least those are my thoughts ^*^
YandereDev is including witches, it seems.
When he said he added Lycoris Radiata around the cherry tree at first I thought it was a song that would play when you went near the cherry tree
Oops
Lycoris Radiata not only represent death and reincarnation, but also people that are destined to never meet again (due to the fact that the plant’s leaves and flowers are never together, wilting and falling off before the other can grow)
Oh, maybe it sybolizes the rival and Senpai, because when Yandere-chan eliminates the rival, they ARE destined to never meet again! MAYBE ONE GROWS FOR EVERY ELIMINATED/KILLED RIVAL OMG!!!
Hey, has anyone seen the new wallpaper called ‘Dusk’ on https://yanderesimulator.com/wallpapers/ ?
I was looking through the wallpapers to see… A possessed Oka! (Occult wallpaper)
Is that a prelude?
@ tekyutsu
Check out the easter egg menus and you’ll see an option to change to Yandere-kun.
@ gemgirly
Don’t be an ass.
Hmm, it’s the 3rd one atm… And Yandere-chan’s holding one of those flowers and plucking the petals and stuff…
Yandere-Kun hairstyle is better now.
Where did u see it?
Hahahaha are you stupid
I’d rather you kept the smirk because it made look EVIL!!!!!!!!!!! but hey I’m just glad things are getting better for you. Also is this build still from your own coding or with the help of tinybuild? :3
Well, obviously, TinyBuild is helping him.
—_— So Long…
when i saw the the ilustration i was like:
PANTY SHOT!
Hehe, I saw that too. Good job on the in-joke, NZ-Eon!
same here…
Yandere dev senpai kawai desu chan sama kun
Uh, this isn’t even a Japanese sentence… it’s just random words… and “kawaii” isn’t even spelled correctly -.-
I know, I was joking, im not THAT dumb…:P
Weeaboo be gone
Weeaboo be gone! Now at target for $19.99
Removed the smirk? :OOO
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Cmon, it was cool at least let us edit him 😥 to bring it back
Lyoris Radiata
Since these scarlet flowers usually bloom near cemeteries around the autumnal equinox, they are described in Chinese and Japanese translations of the Lotus Sutra as ominous flowers that grow in Diyu (also known as Hell), or Huángquán (Simplified Chinese: 黄泉; Traditional Chinese: 黃泉), and guide the dead into the next reincarnation.
Some legends have it that when you see someone that you may never meet again, these flowers, also called red spider lilies or corpse flowers, would bloom along the path. Perhaps because of these sorrowful legends, Japanese people often used these flowers in funerals. The popular Japanese name Higanbana (彼岸花 Higan bana?) for Lycoris radiata literally means higan (the other or that shore of Sanzu River) flower, decorate and enjoyable, flower of afterlife in gokuraku jyōdo (極楽浄土 gokuraku jyōdo?).
___
Can it be … to do with ghost girl ? (who may or may not be affiloated with Ayano’s mum?)
YES go to the characters website. At the ghost girls info it says “a flower plucked too soon”
“The bulbs of Lycoris radiata are very poisonous. These are mostly used in Japan, and they are used to surround their paddies and houses to keep the pest and mice away. That is why most of them grow close to rivers now.In Japan the Red Spider Lily signals the arrival of fall. Many Buddhist will use it to celebrate the arrival of fall with a ceremony at the tomb of one of their ancestors. They plant them on graves because it shows a tribute to the dead. People believe that since the Red Spider Lily is mostly associated with death that one should never give a bouquet of these flowers.”— may be important for you if you are trying to uncover the mystery.
Maybe the phantom was killed by the poison of the flowers… it does say in the description that she was a flower plucked too soon. Random thought!
I found the same article. If it was to do with the ghost girl (which I dispute, despite all coincidence) maybe her name was either Hanako Toba or Bana Higan. We’ll know for sure one day.
That is entirely possible. YandereDev did mention that the “cherry tree myth” is her trying to give girls a bit of happiness she never experienced.
Maybe it’s growing constantly to guide her, but she’s refusing to cross over (not wanting a repeat of what happened to her)
Waiting
SAAAAAAAAAAAAAME. LOL
I thought the smirk was cool! Yandere-kun needs the smirk!
I can hear the vent from below it. Is that intentional?
Novo cabelo no Yan-Kun? Ele perdeu o sorriso permanente? Já vou correndo baixa esta att :3
Yes and yes. The earlier design was more a preliminary sprite, so a change was likely. Yandere-kun’s smirk looked more evil than anything else. I guessed he wanted him to look as plain faced as Yandere-chan.
Seeing Yandere-kun actually in the game makes me happy. Let’s hope that it’ll be a real option, not just an easter egg.
I think the new student is related to the ghost girl, because her name translates to a flower that is associated with death. The ghost girl’s description on the yandere simulator website is “A flower picked far too soon” very interesting…
What new student?
There’s no new student. YandereDev put flowers in the game, not a character named after a flower
The Red Spider Lily has a few connotations as well as one that’s… Not so nice.
One is that they’re said to bloom in abundance in hell and cemeteries, another is they’d bloom where you’d never see someone again or bring back the memories of a dead loved one for one last time. There are also a few others as well as Chinese and Japanese legends. Something about it being called the Sanzu River Flower, as well… Draw you own conclusions. I’m sure we’ll have the answer one day, as YanDev said.
I hope the video shows a comparison of the new rooftop models to the old ones.
Yeah, same.
YandereDev you didn`t fixed the bug whit white stockings in the basement. try on mai waifu
Lycoris radiata… Hmm… Isn’t that the flower that is super poisonious? Spider lilly, right? Checked wikipedia for this. Oh and wasn’t ghost girl’s description updated? ” A flower picked far too soon” ? AHA! I get it now! Not going to explain though, I don’t want to ruin the secret. Also, I just cannot explain it properly you would 100% not understand if I tried explaining it.
Not sure if it’s super poisonous, but definitely toxic. Hmm… Chemistry skill + Toxic flowers = Fun?
Woah, i think youre onto something…
yandere kun is hot af now
the custom stocking file is still not in the streaming assets folder
You know those fan machine things on the roof? I think they could be used to slice up bodies or body parts…
Only if they spin fast enough. And not covered by a protective grating. It’s a cool idea, though, I like it.
Lycoris Radiata or, Red Spider Lilies are beautiful blood red flowers with spider-like petals reaching out on all side. In both Japanese and Chinese Culture this flower is called ‘the flower or the other shore’ or ‘the flower of paradise’ both representing the opposite of life, death. There are legends featuring this flower, namely one about ‘The Forgotten River’. The Forgotten River is a river that borders the line between the living world and the underworld. Growing on the shore of this river are Lycoris Radita which are said to be the memories of the people who have crossed the river when they died. Another legend states that when a relationship ends a Lycoris Radita will bloom on the shore of the river to prove that love did exist.
In the new build there are many of these flowers surrounding the cherry-blossom tree, I believe this represents the failed relationship attempts that had been purposed there. weather these were sabotaged by Ryoba or others down the Aishi family tree, or that they were just from former students I don’t know. But there is one thing I know for sure, one of these flowers represents the ghost in the washroom, who Ryoba had killed over the love of her senpai
BUT THATS JUST A THEROY…
A REYLEY THEROY
If that was true, I think he’d have given the ghost girl a name like Hanako Toba or something to do with Higanbana.
We’ll have to wait and see, I guess.
Why is Yandere-kun a thing to begin with? It’s a pointless feature that will only delay the release of the final game…
I hope it’s not because of the fujoshi community…
I think it’s because enough people wanted it. And it won’t delay it as much as you think.
On another topic, we all know the perils of trying to spawn Osana with the Students.json file. But did you know that ANY change (I tried something insignificant as making Kokona’s bust smaller) results in the same spooky message?
Make sure Student 33’s name is ‘Reserved’
I think it would be cool if whenever you kill a rival on grass a Lycoris Radiata patch will grow (These flowers are usually associated with death)
And there could be an achievement for joining the gardening club and getting them to bloom from the ten rivals
Since these scarlet flowers usually bloom near cemeteries around the autumnal equinox, they are described in Chinese and Japanese translations of the Lotus Sutra as ominous flowers that grow in Diyu (also known as Hell), or Huángquán (Simplified Chinese: 黄泉; Traditional Chinese: 黃泉), and guide the dead into the next reincarnation.

oops, someone already posted this
Do you guys think the dev has made any progress on Osana?
He’s made a lot, actually. Not related to code, but still relevant. In this video, I hope we”ll be able to see some good gameplay-related Osana updates!
It said that there is a river in the underworld called 忘川 (Forgotten River). Similar to River Stnx in Greek Mythology, the Forgotten River separates the underworld and the living world. When the dead crosses this river to get to the other side, all the memories of his/her past life will disappear. Growing on the shore of this river are these fiery Red Spider Lilies. Legend has it that the scent of the flowers will bring back all the beautiful memories of the dead for one last time, before they disappear when cross the river.
I definitely think that these Lycoris Radiata have something to do with Ghost Girl (A flower plucked far too soon) but there’s something else I noticed on Wikipedia (and this might be insignificant but just putting it out there):
Some legends have it that when you see someone that you may never meet again, these flowers, also called red spider lilies or corpse flowers, would bloom along the path.
I don’t know about everyone else but the first thing I thought of was the live action promo, and how after Kokona invited Senpai to the tree, blah blah blah, he would never actually see her again, and vice versa, since they both died. This also made me wonder about Yan-chan’s mother, who might have had a similar experience, such as her Senpai and rival meeting at the tree, going their seperate ways and then Ryoba killing her rival, triggering the growth of the flowers.
It also could have to do with the Succubus/Lust demon, with her voice saying “That… Ring….”, maybe the tree could mean a sort of barrier to the underworld, considering all the lore about Lycoris Radiata, if you’ve read the other comments you already get it.
I don’t know. Maybe I’m just really stupid and spouting nonsense. Just thought I’d put this out there.
It makes a lot more sense than my time travel theory, lmao
Not to be a midori gruin but I have a suggestion I was not going to email you because that would be a waste of your time on the off chance you see this and read it here it is
Add windows where the walls to the courtyard are or the side of the walls that you can see through and when the social butterflies go to hide from yandere chan you can get the baseball bat and smash the window and it would kill the social butterflies in front of it
Sorry if this a waste of time
I have a bug to report……………….im reporting this for the 30th time now……….kokona has a purple thing on her face when she is nude…
Yes and still is not there the CustomStocks
Email him about this with “Bug” as the subject. That’s how he will actually hear about the bug you need to report.
..
Hello
Can’t wait….
Yeaa
the lycoris was from tokyo ghoul, probably something to do with death, right?
“You’ll understand one day.” That made me laugh :”)
Maybe with these flowers we could create something chemical?
I’m from Poland, don’t mind my bad grammar.
Your grammar is perfect. It’s the people whose first language is English who tend to have the worst grammar haha
This video better be about a new build… I’m quite sick of videos about partnering with tinyBuild and reasons why the game’s development is slowing down… it’s been happening for about 3 weeks if you include the Twitch videos…
sports watches that are made from titanium are great, expensive and very lightweight-
I’ve read about the flower, I think it’s a new elimination method with the sports rival.. pick the flower, put a peace of it in her drink, and she dies. I mean if her schedule is running around the track, take a break and drink her water, she’ll leave it on the bench.
He already said that it is related to Lore
I guess they will not put Osana
I think that it has to do with YanChan’s mom killing a rival. It would make since with the Ghost Girl’s description and the descriptions of the flower. It is a poisonous flower that represents death.
I also had another theory that it could have something to do with the demons. There is a legend about how some people believe that the flowers grow in hell. I mostly think it will have something to do with the ghost of the third floor bathroom.
..So long.!
i’ve been looking forward to the new video all day i’ve just been reloading this ahah
Over In England it’s taken three days
so I did a little research on the plants so here’s what I think : it symbolizes the rivals- while reading this article they stated, “The flowers fade within a week or so, and almost immediately new leaves emerge from the subterranean bulbs” so this can show how one rival dies another one appears? The article also they they are known as surprise lilies- this could show ayano’s(yandere chan) feelings about the rivals. She is surprised that all these girls have to die at the palm of her hands… so it could be that the rival can get a surprise? Also these flowers are exotic, just like the rivals…. think about the beginning I stated : the color last for a week…. and they are exotic… just like the rivals….. lets not forget that these flowers are supposed to be the flower of the afterlife. While reading Wikipedia I saw a legend that said, “When the flowers of lycoris bloom, their leaves would have fallen; when their leaves grow, the flowers would have wilted. This habit gave rise to various legends. A famous one is the legend of two elves: Mañju (Simplified Chinese: 曼珠; Traditional Chinese: 曼珠), who guarded the flower, and Saka (Simplified Chinese: 沙华; Traditional Chinese: 沙華), who guarded the leaves. Out of curiosity, they defied their fate of guarding the herb alone, and managed to meet each other. At first sight, they fell in love with each other. God, exasperated by their waywardness, separated the miserable couple, and laid a curse on them as a punishment: the flowers of Mañju shall never meet the leaves of Saka again.” This could be associated with a bad ending in yandere simulator- wouldn’t it make sense that senpai wouldn’t want to date Ayano because he’s basically a vegetable now from all these girls dead…? Or this could be yandere chan being too late to stop the rival from dating senpai? Yandere chan is the god who punish the two by killing them, while senpai and the rival is Saka and Manju. (Sorry its long just a little headcanon- I might be really off though)
One more thing is that this could be associated with the song flowers of paradise by Faye Wong?? (you can google the lyrics) senpai could be singing about the rivals but the end should be her? As in yandere chan or another rival whether it’s the last or 5th rival. Okay, I think I’m done for now… what do you think?
I love the firsts and 15ths of each month >3<
Man, it’s midnight in California, and there’s still nothing… YanDev and his promises…
1 HOUR TO GO
I did some research on the Lycoris Radiate on wikipedia:
“Since these scarlet flowers usually bloom near cemeteries around the autumnal equinox, they are described in Chinese and Japanese translations of the Lotus Sutra as ominous flowers that grow in Diyu (also known as Hell), or Huángquán (Simplified Chinese: 黄泉; Traditional Chinese: 黃泉), and guide the dead into the next reincarnation.”
“Guiding the dead into the next reincarnation??” Will there be super-duper complicated time travel inspired from the Zero Escape series in Yandere Simulator!? (Here’s what I mean: http://zeroescape.wikia.com/wiki/SHIFT)
I mean, it really sounds stupid, but since FunGirl’s existence is basically spread all over time and space… it’s a possibility?
