Sending a girl into depression over the death of her sister…a 37-second long murder-suicide animation…and even dead kittens! Wow, this might be the darkest video I’ve ever made!
Here’s a very long list of all the changes in this build:
Bug Fixes
- Attempted to fix bug that would cause students to halt their daily routine after having a conversation with Yandere-chan, if the student was investigating a sound before Yandere-chan began speaking to them.
- Fixed bug that would cause students’ textures to turn white when they changed their shoes, if the player had attended class extremely early in the morning (before all students had finished spawning).
- Fixed bug that would cause students to move around while in the middle of a conversation with Yandere-chan, if the student was investigating a sound before Yandere-chan began speaking to them.
- Fixed bug that would cause giggling nearby a student to interfere with that student’s “change shoes” animation, if the student heard the giggle before they entered school.
- Fixed bug that would cause Kokona’s “talking on phone” event to behave improperly if the player took out their phone and snapped a picture of Kokona during the event.
- Fixed bug that would cause students to stand in front of their locker indefinitely if they were interrupted on their way to their locker before entering the school.
- Fixed bug that was causing the game to drop 10 FPS every time the player moved the protagonist or the camera.
- Fixed bug that caused students to fail to investigate giggles before walking through the school entrance.
- Fixed bug that would cause teachers’ pets to perform a running animation even when they were not moving.
- Fixed bug that would make the laptop girl’s speech audible even outside of the Student Council room.
- Fixed bug that would allow the player to gossip with a specific student more than once per day.
- Fixed the two fire extinguisher signs in the school that were pointing in the wrong direction.
- Fixed bug that would cause the prompt bar to appear on screenshots taken with the cell phone.
- Attempted to fix the bug that would cause students’ eyes to point in opposite directions.
- (Hopefully,) FINALLY FIXED THAT STUPID BUG THAT WOULD MAKE TEACHERS FLOAT ABOVE CORPSES!
Additions / Changes / Improvements
- If you kill one Basu sister but let the other live, the surviving sister will perform a mourning animation on the school rooftop instead of performing the normal “social butterfly” animation set.
- If two NPCs have a special relationship (lovers, family members) and you kill one of those NPCs in front of the other, the surviving NPC will attack you like a Heroic student would.
- Mind-broken slaves will now spawn to the right of the school gate, behind some bushes, to provide an explanation as to why the gym teacher and other students don’t notice them.
- Optimized numerous scripts in an attempt to improve the framerate. (Does anyone feel like doing a comparison with the last build?)
- Now, whenever the player walks by a room, the name of the room will display in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Students now have lockers at different heights, instead of all having their lockers at the exact same height.
- Gave the player the ability to use a shovel to dig a hole in any of the 9 plots in the Gardening Club.
- Oka Ruto will no longer go to the rooftop to spy on the Basu sisters if the Basu sisters are dead.
- Replaced the old Senpai Shrine model with a new one, and added more items to the Senpai Shrine.
- Gave the player the ability to fill up a hole that has been dug in the Gardening Club.
- Replaced the voiced lines in Saki and Kokona’s Monday rooftop conversation.
- Implemented a much better “peek around corner” animation for Oka Ruto.
- Gave the player the ability to bury a corpse in the Gardening Club.
- Implemented a better walk animation for mind-broken slaves.
- Added 1 new accessory and 1 new hairstyle for Yandere-chan.
- Implemented 9 garden plots inside of the Gardening Club.
- Implemented a new murder-suicide animation.
- Updated the nurse’s character model.
- Improved Ebola-chan’s face texture.
What’s next?
There are several things I’m looking forward to:
- Adding the Matchmaking elimination method.
- Implement sanity-based killing animations, now that I have all the animations I need.
- Allow the player to fight back against teachers, and kill them.
- Work on the “Rival Introduction” video so I can introduce all of rival girls who will be trying to steal Senpai’s heart,
- Take a day off to create a short, humorous video just for fun.
Realistically, I’ll probably create the short video first, then release a “combat” update that revolves around sanity-based killing animations and fighting back against teachers. The next thing I’ll do after that will be the rival introduction video, and then I’ll get to work on the Matchmaking elimination method.

I’m an animal lover in that I’m not okay with raising an animal in terrible conditions just so you can have the kind of food you like. Or so you can feed the kind of pet you like. But I still think it’s crazy to be fine with murdering humans but not kittens. I guess the sort of person that murders other people to feed their pet cat so that animals don’t have to get killed won’t like this game.
Well what would you expect playing as a schoolgirl with an unhealthy obsession of doing everything just to get the man od her dreams? It’s not like we’re forcing you to kill the cat everytime. -_-

I love cats, and I wouldn’t want to kill one even in a game. But I understand that this is just a game, and that it’s optional to kill or not kill a kitten. By the way, you’re making a really good work with the game, YanDev.

This almost made me cry. Not the dead kittens though. They make me swell up. But the way she killed her friend like that. It made me think that she was just stabbing her, over and over, and in her head she was balling. Like oml YandereDev. I hate how you’re so good at this

The murder-suicide is tragically great. I would tone down the blood spray of the suicide part however, it so exagerated that it feels comical breaking the tragedy part.
Try it more subtly, more real, to keep the disturbing part.
I agree, that animation was fantastic till the blood spray. If you cut the distance of the blood spray by a bit I feel it would be an improvement. Otherwise, great additions all around as usual.
I agree I was with it completly until that part it seemed to cartoonish (but like old cartoons that were allowed to have blood and gore) other than that its awesome
As a forensic scientist, I can assure you that stabbing neck, blood spurting out animation is actually not too far off. Remember, blood in arteries in under a good deal of pressure, so when punctured it will spray a relatively significant distance.
Really, if he made it instead that it came out in a series of spurts that got progressively shorter, it would be a much better effect, I believe.

I agree, something about the sound and the visuals for that part ruined the moment for me a bit. Other than that it was beautiful.
I totally agree with everyone else in this thread, I loved the animation up until the spray and the sound, it just totally took me out of the scene.

He wasn’t being butthurt, he was stating the facts. Social media is very desensitized to murder, rape, and other dark topics, to the point of treating it like a joke. If someone ran around killing everyone’s pets though, (actually happened in my area once, she was arrested) it would be a sensation. Most people don’t bat an eyelid at grimdark situations nowadays, get used to it.

I though this game was amazing, until this moment. Sorry, but I really don’t like idea of killing the kitten. I know Yandere chan is a bloody murderer without guilty conscience who is able to do ANYTHING for her senpai so it “fits” in game perfectly and it’s really good way how to hide a body, but I can’t do that even if it’s just game and rather use another hiding body method. It’s evident that if I’m saying this thing a lot of orthodox YS fans can tell me: „this game isn’t for you, so get out“, but I feel need to say my opinion. Kill a fictional innocent student girl? No problem. Bullying? No problem until it’s in fictional and “fun”. But kill a cute kitty is too much for me and to tell the truth it disappointed me a little bit.

From what I can tell, killing a cat in-game will depend on how you get rid of the corpses. I think you’ll only have to do that if you bury the body. Feel free to correct me though O:

I don’t like it either, but it’s only necessary if you bury the corpse. Even then, it may only be necessary if someone sees the murder, since the police wouldn’t even be investigating otherwise. I feel like it’s easy to avoid, particularly with so many other lovely methods available as well.

I was actually expecting the “killing of a small creature” feature because as far as I know its one of the most effiecent ways to hid a buried body. I also just wanted to say I love the story you built for this game. When I play games like these I don’t feel like I’m just playing it to see the end I feel like I’m playing it to find out the story and so I can experience not only the ways to win but the ways to fail

I actually think that the idea of Yandere-chan killing an innocent kitten is not a bad idea. After all, this reminds us that she is a yandere girl that does not care who she has to kill to complete her goal; getting away with the homicides of her rivals.

I think that the Burying A Body disposal method should be a temporary measure. It will let you get to the end of the day without anyone discovering a corpse (assuming there’s no other evidence), but you’d have to sneak back into the school at night and dispose of it then, forfeiting the night and probably making you come to school later the next day.
Do incinerators work after the school is closed?
It’s not that I’m against the cat thing. I get that the protagonist is fucked up in the head. It’s I just think it’s not enough. The dogs wouldn’t still try to look for a body that is still decomposing? What if they start digging where her the victim’s head is and you put the cat on the chest? Won’t they still investigate for someone committing acts of animal cruelty?

I like that as well! I was pondering if it would subvert the task of actually destroying the body, with the time it takes to incinerate and the risk one takes in dismemberment, but good players move the body regardless of what they do with it. And those who take the incineration route often dispose of all the evidence at once, making burying the body as efficient as dismembering the body.
The game itself is already violent, stop complaining about the cat thing. I mean, yes, I love animals, and I don’t like seeing them being tortured, but it’s just a game. The cat is not real, so, move on!
I assume some of you complain about the murder of a cat, but you still play games where you have to hunt animals for food -_-
YandereDev, the game is going great! My only complain is that Saki’s suicide has too much blood, which destroys the tragedy element. Other than that, great update! ^_^

I’d say killing small animals is perfect way how to remind people that Yanderes aren’t romantic and beautiful. They are ruthless killers that won’t stop for anything.
Police finding dead animal at school grounds still would be pretty disturbing tho. Maybe we are going to get a school atmosphere penalty, since this still seems to be in way easier way how to dispose a body then sneaking it past delinquents. I hope YandereDev has more challinges for us in the future~

The new murder-suicide animation is excellent. Wild burst of crazed overkill really fits the concept. The epic blood spray from the neck may be a bit to fountain-like though. Spurts ever heartbeat would be better IMO. As a cat lover, kitten killing kinda bugs me. I’d like to see other alternative ways to keep the police dogs from finding corpses. The more options, the more ways to play! Plus, will the kitten have a connection to an NPC or rival or just be a random kitten? There would be a truly horrific quality to Yandere-chan killing someone’s pet (kitten or otherwise) then manipulating that student into meeting her somewhere by leaving a note “found your missing pet!” Having a student with a missing pet, or some other issue, putting up flyers could be an interesting game element. If Yandere-chan is going to do quests, it might be fun.
Mmyess kill a kitten to cover a dead body…though that is unnecessary because if you clean like you normally the cops cant track you they’ll find the body but you get away clean.
Plus wouldn’t a TRAINED POLICE DOG keep digging until they find the body? They aren’t trained to make mistakes.

am i the only one, that since this update the launcher downloads sooooooo slowly, i am downloading it via zip and that is the same. so i don’t really understand my speed is the same but with the launcher it takes a minute for only 0.1 mb
Get over the cat thing, seriously. It’s not a real cat, Yandere-chan is not a good person, and IT’S OPTIONAL. Also, the murder-suicide is tragic and I love it. Saki’s suicide is a little cartoony though with all of that blood, but I look forward to playing around with the update.

As morbidly amusing as the kitten thing is, I’ve seen police dog demos before…they’re trained to ignore things as simple as the smell of dead animals and food. Maybe it’d be better to do something like leveling up chemistry to make or find an odor-canceling substance of sorts and pour that on the body or grave so the dog can’t detect it? Or something else to that effect? I feel like it’d be a very rookie dog or a very poor officer who would fall for the kitten trick…plus that’d bring up disturbing questions about students as it is. Then again, it’s such an easy disposal method to ignore that I’m probably thinking too much into it. Can’t wait for the next updates, Yandere-Dev!

Jus one thing is annoying me, it’s the animation of “spurt of blood”. It’s remember me dramas like Battle Royal. I think the power of spurt is too much. Less is better.

The thought of killing a kitten made me ill. I know it’s a video game but it’s like hearing about if a puppy was blown up by its owner. Anything violent against stuff is just sad.. How would a dead kitten even wind up in the gardening club by itself anyway? Wouldn’t it be more plausible if it was a wild animal, like a raccoon or a skunk or a rat?
This actually goes to how people view kittens. Like I guess if someone found a dead kitten burying it would be like a “oh poor kitty” thing. Where people tend to just passively dispose of wild animals.

I realy think this is a great update but one thing bothers me. I have a friend who works at the airport with policedogs and i asked him what would happen if they would search for a dead body.He told me they wouldn’t only let dogs search for the corps. The policemen would search for fresh dirt wish could be a sine that a body is burried there. Also the told me those policedogs could smell the diffrenze of a dead cat and a human so that wouldn’t work. If the dog barkes the policemen know that there is or was a body burried ,so they wouldn’t stop at the cat. At the end he told me it would be to difficult and risky to try that its easier to put coffebeans or something diffrent with a strong smell in the whole. The dog could only smell the coffe and wouldn’t react to the smell. You could to it so that yandere-chan would had to steal a dose of coffe and fill it in da bag, which she lays on the corps. The coffe is located near a coffemachine in the council-room. Allmost all the time is a teacher in this room. Yandere-chan would have to quikly steal it and bring it back befor the teacher notices it missing, which would trigger the police to use a new sensorsystem to find the body ,because they would suspect that someone used the stolen coffe to thrik the dogs.

I love the kitten idea. I don’t know where I’ll find one, or why I can’t just hide the smell of the corpse, but I love the idea anyway. The mind slave killing animation was great too. Well, up until the blood was shooting out. I know that isn’t far off from what would really happen, but it seems like a bit much. I wouldn’t mind if you kept it as is, but I’d prefer it if you toned it down so it isn’t just a fountain of blood.
Also, to the people who are saying ”Killing humans is fine, but animals!? HOW DARE U!!!!11!!!one!!!!11!” : Did you guys forget that humans are animals too? This isn’t even necessary to finish the game, so stop complaining. No kittens have to get hurt if you don’t want them to.

A few things to add:
One: YanDev said the kitten killing was a POSSIBILITY. A suggestion. It’s not actually in the game and if there’s a better idea it won’t even BE in it.
One-and-a-half: Even if it was, it’d be COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. Don’t wanna do it? don’t bury bodies in the yard and expect to get away scott free. Sheesh.
Two: I am opposed to the idea only because realistically, it won’t work. As someone mentioned, the dog would be trained to keep digging, and the way I see it, the garden grave would be just too shallow to inconspicuously bury a cat on top of it. The dog pawing at the cat would probably kick up enough dirt to uncover the body too if the grave wasn’t dug deep enough. You’d have to dig a pretty deep hole to put enough space between the human and the cat.
I REALLY liked The_Master_E and yumehoshichan’s suggestions of using your chemistry skill to mask the scent of the dead body. It gives incentive to level your chemistry stat even higher (as opposed to just at tranquilizer level).

Not to mention the dog was psychologically trained to attack. This is different from hunting down innocent kittens. I myself would kill anyone who got in the way of my relationship, but it makes no sense to harm an animal unless it’s a situation where there is no other option. Humans are the cause of the world’s problems, so that is why I don’t mind harming them. Cats have been my only companions when people bullied me. A bird at least would easier. But now I’m certain that i can’t play this game, or at least not choose that method. But whatever, it’s optional anyway. Still it doesn’t make much sense either though as sonic said:

But that’s not the only problem, people can be taken to jail for doing things to animals, and if it’s someone’s pet they may look for it or try to find who did it. Also, this feature could make the game much less popular in Japan.

Years from now scientists predict there will not be enough food for people. What do you think will happen then? Kumbaya? The amazon rainforest is cut down more everyday. People in north korea and china are killed for saying ill of the government. Have you heard of the illegal organ trade? Homeless people in china and other places are killed, then their organs sold on the black market. Yet nobody cares about this. In america black teenagers are shot for being black. Girls are raped in many countries and then forced to give birth underage, potentially dying in the process. They aren’t able to get abortions and even when they do people say ”it’s a life nooo”’ even though most abortions happen in the very early stages when it’s not even human yet. But they care more about a fucking fertilised egg than a girl or woman. Tigers are rapidlly declining because people kill them for primitive medicine, to be play things used for photos. There are entire industries built around torturing animals and enslaving people. In war civilians who have nothing to do with the war are killed cold-heartedly and called ”oh well they co-operated with the enemy” when lots didn’t even want to be there. Coral is ceasing to exist because of warmer and acidic oceans. People are being stoned or shunned for having a different love life. There are more than 1.5 million in modern slavery. Russia still has it’s heavy nuclear system from the cold war online. I could go on and on and fucking on.
I’m not incapable of seeing beautiful, there is lots of beauty in the world, but in not so ignorant and blind to deny the overwhelming bad in the world. I guess you know nothing of why wars start, or why climate change is happening. I bet you’re once of those people who deny climate change and evolution.
I realise it’s just a game. I’m just saying that I personally don’t want to play it anymore. That it’s no longer the game for me.

I say that it would be less popular in Japan, because I have a japanese boyfriend and friends but even that’s not necessary for knowing that the whole reason it would be less popular is because the whole reason there are so many cats in Japan is because nobody wants to hurt them.
A cat called Tama died, so they enshrined him as a fucking local god. The shamisen has been in a steep decline, many people have stopped learning it and protested it using cat/dog skin. People’s pets were stolen as well as dogs and people had a bad taste about it, even if it was traditional. People had to start using synthetic skin, because Japanese people themselves don’t like it very much when they find out. A japanese animal protection agency even said a statement about it.
In the Japanese let’s plays I’ve seen, the players are surprised with what is in it already. Young gamers in japan could be put off by the cat thing.
And no, i’m not taking it personally, what you’ve said doesn’t even faze me as it’s hilariously bad. Apparently people need to be CEOs to give an opinion online.
And no killing a bird is not better, I’m not OK with killing birds either, I’m just expressing what many others have said on yanderedevs video in youtube comments, that even though it’s still horrible, it might feel easier to kill a bird and people might have less hang ups about it. Good try at making assumptions though

Yan-chan has a different moral code than Yuno. Yuno’s moral code is stronger but Yan-chan couldn’t care less about animals.

I think that the fight animations of the people who starts to fight cuz they loved one is dead is too “professional”
What does it mean?
I can guess why suddenly they become strong, from all the rage they get, but they fight like a marshall art!!
So it look weird that the suddenly become professional marshall art.
I think that the animation should be more like a resling with a lot of ANGER! Like a psyco mode of sadnees and RAGE! And even if Yandere-chan will stab them they will keep going! Untill death.
And another thing that I’v wanted to say and I’v said it already: when there is the animation of taking off your shoes and put them on, why does everybody has this animation and Yandere-chan doesn’t?!

How about instead of murdering an animal, we steal an already dead dissected animal from the science room and use that.

Chances are they dispose of dissection corpses like they would every other piece of trash. (Or maybe have them buried to use as fertilizer…) So finding an animal corpse that way would at least be more… palatable? I mean it beats killing kittens for gods sake!
This makes sense.
I think, one thing I’d like to see would be people reacting to mind-broken students, noticing that there’s something wrong with them and asking if they’re ok, or spotting the fact that they’re carrying a weapon and running to get a teacher, or perhaps even getting close enough in range to hear the student muttering ‘kill’
As it is, seeing the students completley ignoring the mind-broken one takes me a bit out of the experience.

This is super late but I have a great idea. So this DLC rival will be a male. He doesn’t love Senpai but he loves Yandere Chan. He’s a yandere too. And he could stalk yandere chan and if she was near Senpai he will try to kill him but secretly. And when that happens he will stop stalking you and try to kill senpai in many ways. So you’d have to protect Senpai. If you win, you will confess to Senpai. If the rival wins he will confess to you and since your crush is dead and there’s no one else you love, you accept halfheartedly. What do you think?
