May 6th Bug-Fixing Build

It’s another bug-fixing build! Sorry! I just keep finding bugs! It keeps happening!

To see a list of everything that is different in the latest build, scroll down past this beautiful image created by Haryudanto!

  • Fixed bug that would cause the player to become unable to pick up items or weapons that were dropped in the doorways of the shed or the greenhouse in the Gardening Club area.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to fail to drop or de-equip her weapon when performing an action such as preparing food, changing clothes, or bathing.
  • Fixed bug that would allow the player to take panty shots of a student whose panties were not visible due to their outfit.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to be apprehended by a teacher after being knocked comatose by a delinquent.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan’s school uniform to appear white at the title screen.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the Cooking Club’s Kerchief to use the wrong texture.
  • Club accessories will no longer appear on Yandere-chan’s body when she is naked.
  • Re-textured the Light Music clubroom and filled it with music-related props.
  • Added “nature sounds” ambience to the Gardening Club area.
  • Added a voice clip for Sakyu Basu’s “Where’s my ring?” line.

Hopefully there won’t be any need to upload another bug-fixing build between now and May 15th. Fingers crossed!

May 4th Bug-Fixing Build

Edit: Aw shucks, the executable was named incorrectly in the latest build, so the game wouldn’t run. I’ve uploaded another new build with the executable name fixed.

Somehow, I was completely unaware of several extremely severe bugs that were inside of the last few builds! Yikes! I’ve decided to release another bug-fixing build that should smooth things out.

Scroll down past this jaw-droppingly beautiful illustration by Vlad Bacescu to see a list of everything that I fixed, changed, or added in the new build!

  • Fixed bug that would cause Kokona to act as though she had been doused with water if the player was pointing a camera at her while she was standing at her locker during the point in time when her “go to locker room” event was supposed to trigger.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Kokona to freeze in place and never move again if the player was pointing a camera at her during the point in time when her “go to locker room” event was supposed to trigger.
  • Fixed bug that would cause a giant circular shadow to slowly move across the school rooftop from 12:20 PM to 12:50 PM. (Nobody will EVER guess what was causing this bug to occur…)
  • (Hopefully) fixed bug that would prevent the Yandere-chan from being able to ask NPCs to follow her if she had killed one of her previous followers without being witnessed.
  • Yandere-chan will now drop anything she is holding in her hands when the player chooses to prepare food, bathe, or change clothes.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the Guidance Counselor to scold Kokona even if she was dead.
  • Fixed texture bugs that would occur if the player created a bald Senpai.
  • Students will now react to the sight of Yandere-chan carrying a corpse.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent the player from tranquilizing students.
  • Added a new easter egg.

“What? A new easter egg? YandereDev, you baka! Stop spending time on easter eggs!”

Chill, it only took me an hour to add to the game. Besides, this easter egg is something I publicly promised to implement in 2014. Everyone else has probably forgotten about that promise by now, but I didn’t forget! I’m a man of my word! It took me 2 years, but I finally kept my promise.

What’s next?

I think that the latest build can finally be called “stable”. I’m aware that there are still bugs in the game, but at this stage of development, I’m only interested in fixing “critical” bugs – bugs that make it impossible to play the game. Eventually I’ll make sure the game is 100% bug-free, but at this point in time, it’s more important to focus on implementing the core gameplay mechanics and adding the game’s most important content.

I’m not sure whether I’ll use the next 11 days to add a bunch of small additions or one huge addition. Either way, I hope you’ll enjoy what I add to the game next!

May 3rd Bug-Fixing Build

I noticed that there were a few pretty bad bugs in the last build, so I’ve got another bug-fixing build to roll out! Scroll down past this gorgeous illustration by Affanita to see a list of everything that has been changed in the new build!

  • If the player puts Sakyu’s ring inside of Kokona’s book bag but does not report Kokona for theft, then Kokona will simply find Sakyu’s ring inside of her book bag and then return it to her after school, making it impossible to frame her for theft in the future.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to become unable to interact with any students after speaking to the guidance counselor.
  • Fixed bug that would allow the player to place a stolen phone in the Cooking Club before the player had actually stolen a phone.
  • Changed a line of dialogue to reference the fact that the player must hide cigarettes in Kokona’s bookbag, not in her desk.
  • Fixed issue with one of Yandere-chan’s new hairstyles that would cause it to not have a black cartoon outline.
  • Replaced the copyrighted music from the Cyborg Ninja easter egg with an original track by Damprog Music.
  • Corrected errors in the guidance counselor’s subtitles.
  • It is now possible to put facial hair on Senpai’s face.
  • Changed “Report Panties” to “Report Panty Shots”.
  • Added a new hairstyle for Yandere-chan.

I’d love to say that this build is absolutely free of game-stopping bugs, but there’s always a possibility that I somehow missed one or two. There might be another bug-fixing build tomorrow, as well. Time will tell!

May 2nd Bug-Fixing Build

The last build had a few bugs! Whoops! I’ve uploaded a new build with some fixes and other minor additions. Scroll down past this beautiful artwork by tri-bby to see a list of everything that is new in this build!

  • Fixed bug that would cause Sakyu Basu’s ring to float in front of her during lunchtime, if the player had an exceptionally low framerate or was using the “speed up time” debug command.
  • Characters who are chasing Yandere-chan will now slowly run faster the longer they are chasing her, so that it will become impossible to outrun teachers or delinquents forever.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Midori’s voice to continue speaking even after the error message had appeared in the Yanvania Midori easter egg.
  • Fixed bug that would keep Kokona’s phone in Yandere-chan’s inventory even after she had put the phone on the counter in the Cooking Club.
  • Fixed bug that would cause water sound effects to play from the school fountain when the school scene was loading.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the “sit at computer and play video games” animation to not play.
  • Added something cute to the Light Music Clubroom.
  • Added three new hairstyles for Yandere-chan.
  • Added a new hairstyle for Senpai.
  • Updated Mei Mio’s hairstyle.

Tomorrow, there might be another “bug fixes / minor additions” build, because there are still some minor additions I’d like to roll out soon. We’ll see!
