May Preview #12

I’ve chosen to delay the next build until June 1st. I’m sorry! To make up for it, I’ll give you a preview of something cool that will be available soon.

Every time a new build of Yandere Simulator is available, you have to download the latest version of the game from a file-sharing site like Mediafire, and manually unzip the files…and the only way to find out whether or not a new build is available is by checking this blog! Wow, that’s so inconvenient!

Wouldn’t it be better if there was an application that would automatically update the game for you? Yeah, I think so too! That’s why I asked a skilled programmer to create…this!

It’s a launcher/updater for Yandere Simulator! The bottom of the launcher will tell you if your current game is outdated, and will allow you to download the latest build with one click. The launcher will perform an integrity check to make sure that your download was not corrupted, and then automatically unzip the files for you!

I’m not ready to roll out this launcher just yet; I’d rather release it when the next build comes out. The June 1st build will be available in two ways: through the launcher, or through a download link like before. If the launcher has issues, you’ll be able to download the June 1st build the same way you’ve downloaded all previous builds of the game.

The launcher’s source code will also be made available so that you can confirm there’s no spyware/malware/adware buried inside of it.

I hope that the launcher will work smoothly, and make it more convenient for you to play Yandere Sim!

    • My. Brother is addicted to that anime the one qith the character in yournprofile picture, and I watxged Heaven’s lost property before it has an AMAZING STORY

      • The manga is far better then the anime :p! (It’s like Rosario Vampire’s manga.. the MC isn’t worthless trash)
Though I do have to say the second movie was pretty spot on.. Unlike the two main seasons.. 2nd movie was true to the movie and how bad ass MC is :p(Well it should of been.. it kind of skipped a lot to animate the ending.. so it was kind of for manga readers)
The first movie was just an arc and I remember it being stretched out for the movie.. but still good :p!

  1. Eh I’m indifferent to having a launcher. I don’t like them. But thats my opinion. Mainly because launchers take WAY too long on my slow internet compared to downloads. And I have no idea why. I’m wondering if it forces you to update before playing or if you can choose to keep an old build? :0

That being said I’m sure there are others who would like it. But I do hope YandereDev keeps the old option of manually downloading it in the future.

  2. Holy hell, YES! I want this! This is truly becoming a real “game” for me evn thoguh it’s still not. I actually find the way to download before kind of irritating for me because some of those websites don’t work for me which is why i need to keep searching for other websites. Thank you yandere dev!

    • He said in the final version of the game all volunteers who’s assets were used will be credited. He doesn’t want to do it now as things change and people are better at making models and stuff than others. He’ll credit the used ones in the final game probably 😛

  3. Yes finally! I’ve always wanted to actually try the game for myself but I wasn’t sure how to do so. Nice to know there’s somewhat of an official place to download the game.

  4. This would be awesome if I knew what you meant by unzipping the files, because every time i try to open the file that gets downloaded it won’t let me play and says that the file should be next to the file i just tried to open. Soo, is there such a thing, to have to unzip the file for it to be able to play?

    • Windows: u go to the file u just downloaded, 1st option: click two times with the left mouse button > open the file > double click the last file in the paste (probably called ‘yandere Sim application’ or something like that) > wait until the file charges and voila.
2nd option: click one time with the right mouse button > select one option to unzip > find the file that is the game > double click the file > wait until the file charges and voila.
MacBook: idk I don’t have apple because I hate it ^.^

  5. Wow the Downloader idea is awesome 😀 so it is more easier to enjoy yandere
i think it was a good decision to release the next build on 1st june
Im sure its worth the wait ! 🙂

  6. Devvy-Chan you’re the best! All these features look so amazing, including the launcher. We’re all so impressed with this work, thank you for making the progress of Yandere simulator~! (See what I did there? Heh)

  7. So basically, it was a GREAT thing to delay the update to June 1st! A lot of progress was made, not just with gameplay features like the new elimination method, but also amazing additions like the new character model and a launcher 😀 Maybe future updates should start being monthly instead of bi-monthly~

  8. Finally! :3
Every time I download a new Update, I have to watch the download’s progress, because if I do something else on the pc, the download corrupts -.-
It’s more easier for me with a launcher, thanks YanDev 😁

  9. Nooooooooo! I like to keep old builds! How can I do so if there’s no way to save them without updating the game? I’ll need to stop to follow the development? I like the old fashioned way, why not keep it like that? Sorry but some updates are really not useful at all, and this is the second one.

  10. Personally, I’m really excited for there to be a launcher since unzipping the files has been a bit a a hassle for me, because a lot of the unzipping apps for PC don’t work that well. But, I’m also one of the people who likes to keep old builds. If there is a function that will allow us to go to previous builds, that would be really great. But, Devpai is a creator, and it’s his game. He should be the one to decide what’s best for it. I mean, you wouldn’t tell an artist how to paint or draw, would you?
