January 15th Progress Report

I’m not sure whether to call this a “Progress Report” or a “Lack-Of-Progress Report”, because the only information I can report is the fact that I didn’t have enough time to make any significant progress on the game over the past two weeks.

Here’s a video that explains the situation in detail:

Although the last “bug-fixing update” was uploaded on January 3rd, I continued to fix bugs after that date. I logged all of the bugs that I fixed into a text file on my desktop, but unfortunately, when my hard drive died last week, I lost that text file. I know that I fixed somewhere around 10 bugs, but I can’t recall exactly what they were.

So, here’s what this week’s changelog looks like:

  • Fixed bug that would cause students to face the wrong direction and not sit down in their seats if the player arrived at school late.
  • Fixed bug that would cause a student’s “detection marker” to remain onscreen after that student had died.
  • Fixed about 10 miscellaneous bugs.
  • Added a new Easter Egg.

Yikes! What an embarrassing changelog…hopefully, I’ll have a much more impressive one on February 1st.

  1. I’m so excited to watch your stream, I can’t wait 😋 And also, don’t listen to anyone that tells you not to put something on YOUR blog. It’s not their place. You’re an amazing video game developer and deserve WAY more than just two days.

    • Let haters hate! Real fans wouldn’t rush you, and would realize that you actually HAVE a life outside of your computer and job! Go take your time off! Enjoy yourself! You deserve it! You’ve probably been working yourself to the ground! We’ll be waiting for you with open arms and hearts!

    • i know! I really want to slap ossana’s stupid smiling face >:/ Plus, i don’t like killing kokona anymore because I’ve developed a little crush on her *_*

      • I personally hope that the Matchmaking-Update is coming soon,so that Kokona-chan has a happy Ending in at least one Update-Video (unless Yanderedev decides to kill her after showing the Update)

      • hahaha XD well kokona it too easy to kill shes a deredere im more curious to kill a tsundere

  2. Hey, YandereDev! I will try to join the others. I hope I’ve got time. (Errr… I know my English is bad. I’m still from Germany.) I’m looking forward to this, really!

  3. I talked about how would be the male protagonist story beacuse you have been working with the story since last year using hidden tapes

  4. While I do understand their reasoning, what you do on your blog is honestly none of their business. I doubt most people would mind what you post on here.

Anyways, can’t wait for the stream!

  5. Yandere Dev, i need to tell you something that’s been on my mind since long ago. You’re the best, man.

Nevermind the assholes who question/get stupidly mad about the time you need to develop a good game -or about adding or not easter eggs-. I have all my faith on you even if the game comes out in 2020, for real 🙂

  6. yandere-dev i love your game so mutch and you’re so awessome and i hope you have a happy… whatever you’re celebrating ^-^

  7. hello yandure dev , im sorry if i botherd you with my question , but i want to know what are the programs you use to design games , i want to become just like you , an awesome programer , if you don’t want to tell me about the programs you use , it’s fine , in exchange give me some advices in programing , BTW I love yandure simulaitor so much and it’s the reason i want to make my own game , maybe simulating or fighting game as mortal kombat , thank you for your time .

  8. You know….after watching the video again…..I think I should tell you. I don’t need “regular updates”.to keep me interested in this game at this point. I just need to kept in the loop every now and again. A new build on those dates is nice, but it being delayed wouldn’t be the end of the world. I’m sure I’m not the only fan who feels that way.
You seem to be worried about time, after all. Maybe if you limited yourself to releasing one new build a month, you could make more progress with the games development. In any case…I wish you better luck in the future. Equipment failure is never fun.

    • The problem is not that normal fans will get bored of the game, the schedule is in place because YandareDev has people paying every month on Pateron for updates and if there are no updates there is a possibility that people will stop giving money and thus making it harder for Dev to have money needed to make a living off of developing the game.

  9. mr. Dev, if you’re reading this, i actually agree with a let’s player named Azzman who suggested that instead of LoveSick, you make it into Sick Love, which sounds more Yandere than the first one 🙂 (then still put the subtitle Yandere Simulator)

  10. Honestly, it might be the lack of time and thus the lack of revisions a possible script would’ve gone though, however Dev’s voice sounds way more NATURAL than usual! I realise he probably wishes to be completely clear and not misunderstood, but man oh man it’s made this video so much nicer to listen to! c:

  11. I want to make a Visual Novel adaptation of YandereDev’s past, complete with melodramatic music from Key/Visual Arts OSTs.

  12. Hm, I would maybe consider watching your stream, but… it kind of coincided with Splatfest. Some people will know what I mean and why I cannot watch it.

  13. Seeing this easter egg fills you with DETERMINATION. This is by far the best easter egg yet, it’s so cool being able to fling people and shoot the gaster blasters. Yandere Dev, you update when it’s convenient for you. I understand that you have people supporting you on patron and that they expect new updates and game features every month, but they also have to realize that there are going to be times when it will be hard or full on impossible for you to update the game. I love this game and tons of other people love it too, so if you aren’t able to update on the days that you usually update it on, we all understand. If you don’t make a deadline for updating you always make it up, sometimes making it even better, and that’s amazing. Keep up the amazing work! We’re all here to support you and this amazing game you’ve created.

  14. ‘Stop sending me stupid emails, my computer crashed, I’m taking 2 days off & this game is getting released in 2019 or the day after armageddon – whichever comes later.’

  15. Yandere dev please Read this… I know you don’t want us to put any comments and i am no exception to this, it’s just it be great if you this and others comments similar to this. ( I also put this while watching your twitch but since a lot of people were spamming you possibly couldn’t read it. Plus its Lengthy….. I read your post from yandere simulator and I’m so sorry to hear that. First of its your website and you can do whatever you want with it. Forget the haters if they don’t like it oh well you still got tons of people loving your game and family and friends supporting you. Good luck and happy for you still continuing this forget the haters and keep moving forward. P.S I will Not sent an email, I never did and I don’t to be one of the many people you dislike because of the useless emails. In this case, you probulary gotten tons of emails about this so mine is basically Useless.

  16. You sounded kind of pissed off in the video here, but I lost it when you said “Determined”. OH MY GOD YOU ARE EPIC XDD

  17. Dang Yandere Dev, don’t worry. nothing gets under my skin easily.
Oh sorry, did I make a pun?
I should remember that snow’s not the time.
Aww, c’mon. that was pretty Sans-sational.

  18. I wish I could watch the stream but my internet hasn’t been working

😦 I could only see this because I’m at school 😥

  19. Yandere Dev, you have made an AMAZING game! I also have some things to say about Re-Naming the game. First of all, I think that the name “Lovesick” is actually quite fitting for Yandere Simulator, with all the sadistic murders you have to commit, and the innocent reputation you must keep. Also, I honestly don’t think you should add a subtitle in the opening or main menu. It would just be a bit too much to read (In my opinion). Thanks again for being an AWESOME GAME CREATOR! I don’t care how long I have to wait for the game to be finished; I’m a very patient person, and I’m sure the wait will be totally worth it. c:

  20. Great game so far! I understand that without the feeling that people are trying your game, it makes it hard to work on it. That’s why you invest so much time into making videos. I’ve done a bit of programming myself and when I work for more than a week or two without any connection with people, I start to lose motivation on finishing it. Anyway keep up the good work!

  21. I feel pretty horrible that I missed the first stream, but I’ll definitely join tomorrow’s stream Yanderedev. And take your time if you need to. We’re always here for you no matter what Yanderedev. Who even cares about fans who want to rush you. What do they know about the game development process? Anyway, we all always have open hearts and minds to you Yanderedev.

  22. OMG I love that easter egg! If you managed to do that in such short time, imagine what you’ll be able to do with this game!

Don’t lose hope, Yanderedev! Stay determined! ❤

  23. My suggestion may or may not be read by Yandere Dev but still here goes nothing-
Yandere Dev should manage 2 email accounts! Now hold on, before you flag it as spam I would like to tell you that the 2nd account is for the volunteers only or the people which Yandere Dev has placed trust in to complete the assets of the game without revealing it to the general public. This way Yandere Simulator or Lovestruck can easily approach completion without the developer having headaches over which email to reply and which to not reply.
The general public like us will, well keep sending emails over the email account which Yandere Dev has told to send emails on over works of cosplay or maybe fan art and maybe sometimes stupid questions. That way, Yandere Dev during his breaks can actually sift through this account to separate fan arts and cosplay photos and stupid Midori Gurin questions without having to worry about any email correspondence with his volunteers
