For the love of all that is holy, DO NOT e-mail me and ask me when the next update is coming out, because by making me read your e-mail, you’re reducing the amount of time that I can spend working on the game, and thus you’re delaying the next update.

Also, please DO NOT volunteer if you have zero experience doing whatever it is you’re trying to volunteer to do. Just because you own a microphone, this does not make you a voice actor. Just because you’ve made an MMD video, this does not make you an animator. Just because you can scribble a stick figure onto a piece of paper, this does not make you an artist. Do not volunteer unless you have an impressive portfolio of previous work to show me.
These posts do not stop 100% of all stupid e-mails, but whenever I don’t have a post like this at the top of my blog, I get 10x the number of e-mails that I normally receive.

That’s why I already said, even if this guy is a genius programmer and all, in a matter of communication skills and management, he’s a pile of stubborness and stupidity. That’s why he keeps posting this.

Welp,it looks like that instead of doing an update,you only send a blogpost saying to “Stop the annoying emails”,maybe you should just delete your email and then you will have peace. At least you will have peace,i know it is very drastic but,i think it is the only way to ACTUALLY eliminate and kill the stupid emails Devpai. He uses his email to communicate with many volunteers that have helped with the game; deleting his email will probably slow game development and decrease the level of quality of the game when it is released.
plus he does actually needs people to send him the bug reports. we are testing the sandbox build for him so that he can eliminate all the bugs as he programs the new features into the game so that it can be nice and clean before the official release. if properly executed, the emails are actually helpful to YandereDev. it’s the stupid ones that he needs to stop.

I would like to know the demographics of all the people sending him e-mails, and those of the people who are sending him stupid e-mails. I agree that with a fanbase where over three out of every four fans is 11-20, you’re more likely to have people who have the ability to devote the time to a fandom, and have a wish to contribute, while not entirely understanding the difference between a useful contribution and one that is not until they are told directly that their contribution is not useful. That range is also most likely made up *mostly* of people who can differentiate, especially at the older end. I’m 23 now, and when I was 16 or younger, I *might* have been silly enough to send him an e-mail several months ago, after he first started implying useless e-mails were a problem, but I almost certainly wouldn’t have.
Also, his earlier blog posts are very open to suggestions. A few people may be coming across those posts and haven’t gotten to the more recent ones yet.

I feel like YandereDev has just dug himself into a hole with this one… he doesn’t want the dumb emails or useless volunteers. He’s turned down a few good ideas as to defend himself from it….I love him and all but we all know that the emails are gonna keep coming…he puts too much faith in his audience. I hope he comes up with a good idea to combat this…
But… Ideas require WORK!
I work in customer service and the volume of stupid emails we receive is outstanding. We have a FAQ page and people still ask the same stupid questions. So I completely understand how annoying it is. For those who say: “Hey, but it takes a minute to answer!”, well yeah, but just as an example, last time we got 800 mails on a day, which means 800 minutes or 13 hours. Imagine how the person’s sanity ends after that! And that’s not all! Because after you answer people often ask a related question and then continue asking for more stupid questions. So those 800 mails turn into 1,000 or 1,300 quickly. We do have somebody to aid us to answer (and often is done by copy&pasting the FAQS to reduce time) but in the case of YandereDev he is by himself so that time spent reading stupid mails is time he won’t have for working in the game.
So people PLEASE stop sending him stupid e-mails. The FAQS are there for a reason. If you don’t know, read. I usually see the same stupid questions like “When are you going to update?” (when it’s done, obviously!) or “I have this awesome cool idea!” (good for you, but YandereDev has said that he doesn’t take suggestions” or “Hey, Kokona breakdances when I do this easter egg” (he knows that already!). Seriously, if you want to have Yandere Simulator done earlier and YandereDev’s sanity to be preserved, READ THE DAMN FAQS and stop asking stupid questions.

not attacking you, but the truth is that if he did that there are only two things that could happen:
A- People would eventually find the new email and the cycle re-start (trust me, crazy fans always do)
B- New volunteers and bug reporters that actually DO their job properly would probably be discourage from helping as the email wont be easy to find
By the way, does this also mean he doesn’t want to see our fanworks etc. anymore? That’s kind of sad…
I think it said in the FAQ or in one of the other posts that he doesn’t count the fanworks and cosplay as “stupid emails” so I think it should be fine but I would check around first I could be wrong

Yandere Dev said last cycle the only features left to implement would take more than 2 weeks. Don’t know why he bothered to claim there would be a mid month update… It seems that even if there were such a thing, there wouldn’t be anything in it.

It sucks that email issues are still such a huge problem. I haven’t emailed at all, but I’ve been considering about helping volunteer with game testing (But then I realized Yandere Dev isn’t looking for those people) so I figured. And while people say its 11-20 year olds who do this, I’m only 17 but I have common sense not to be a hassle. If he’s not in search of people checking for bugs, then okay. That’s perfectly fine by me. I seriously hope for Yandere Dev’s mental health and people’s intelligence that this won’t keep happening.

I can be like these people (not to this extent, though, jfc these Midoris are assholes), as in I have a tendency to not shut the frick up sometimes, but this is just ridiculous.
1) Why would people pester him when they can just check the FAQ??? There is literally THIS on it: “What is the biggest problem affecting development of the game? Too many people asking me questions that are answered in the FAQ, reporting bugs that are listed on the Known Bugs page, or suggesting really stupid features for the game.” It’s like the Midoris don’t want to spend ten seconds doing something productive.
2) Unless it’s been SPECIFICALLY STATED that you can add an OC, you should never, EVER, suggest to do so! Dev even made a blog about that a month or so ago.
3) Ditto on requests for game design. Dev has his own ideas, and this is HIS GAME. You should only be able to suggest ideas if you are helping to make it (which none of us are, except for volunteers).
4) Dev stated in his video about re-naming the game (which, funnily enough, was the blog post JUST BEFORE THIS ONE) that he would see how “Lovesick” went as a title before suggesting other names he had come up with. It’s like these people don’t want to watch an 11 1/2 minute long video, jfc.
5) Trying to help him get rid of stupid and useless emails by sending a stupid and useless email? That makes you an asshole! Congrats!
I also don’t get why anyone would ever email him about trivial shit, like Easter Eggs that HE PUT IN THERE HIMSELF, basic shit that can easily be found in the FAQs,etc.
From your recent demographic polls I’ve realized that you have a lot of younger fans.. I’m sorry they might not always listen to you.
