Senpai Customization Update

I still feel really bad about how long it took me to produce the last update, so I decided to release a new update as soon as possible.

The biggest feature in this new update is the ability to design your Senpai’s appearance! You can change his skin color, hair color, eye color, hair style, and even give him some eye-wear. Unfortunately, you can’t change his gender yet, but hopefully, that will be coming soon. If there’s anything else you’d like to be able to customize about your Senpai, please let me know in the comments below.

(Asking to customize his personality / voice would be a big problem, since Senpai will potentially have hundreds of lines, and that’s an awful lot of lines to re-record for each personality, for each voice, in each language that game is released in…so, please don’t request anything that would change his voice.)

A lot of people have expressed interest in Yandere Simulator’s story, so I added the beginnings of an intro cut-scene. There are no visuals yet, only voices; the plan is to add character models and animations in a future update. For now, the voice-over alone should should paint a clearer picture of Yandere-chan’s personality for you.

I also added a text message cut-scene that portrays the moment that Yandere-chan and Info-chan first meet one another.

I also added some other stuff, as well. Here’s a complete list of all new additions:

  • Added a “Senpai Customization” screen.
  • Senpai’s character model reflects the appearance that you give him in the Senpai Customization screen.
  • Added the beginnings of an “intro cut-scene” – however, there are no visuals yet, only voice.
  • Added a short text message conversation between Yandere-chan and Info-chan to establish how they first meet.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan’s textures to go crazy if Yandere Vision was activated after changing Yandere-chan’s clothing.
  • Fixed bug that would remove the steam clouds from Yandere-chan’s nude body if she was spotted by Senpai or a teacher while nude.
  • Added a new accessory that has unique functionality.
  • Changed the color of the green-haired-girl’s panties.
  • Added a missing teacher portrait.

I’m going to be moving into a new home in a few days, and I’m going to be extremely busy once a certain stealth video game comes out on September 1st, so I won’t have very much time to work on the game for the next 30 days. Ideally, the next update would happen on September 1st, but I can’t guarantee it. I’ll try to always release SOMETHING on the 1st and 15th days of every month, even if it’s something simple, like this update.

  2. Wow, I didn’t think there would actually be an Update when I said that on the last post! Nice Work, YandereDev!

    I’m not asking for anything specific for the sempai customization, as long as it let’s him not look like a wimp.

  5. I found a bug. If you look at a boy, they have their normal eye colour. If you go close enough so you can kind of see through their heads, their eyes turn pink.

  8. There’s a bug where the first time you get water in a bucket (at least for me) its bloody. and slowly happens again if you stand there w/ a filled bucket of water

    • It says in the FAQ that he doesn’t have any plans to make that a thing… I DO remember from somewhere (do not quote me on this, because I do not remember where or when or if it was even a thing) that Yanderedev said that if the Kickstarter he plans on doing reaches a certain goal, he might make gender choosing an option for the player. I can NOT confirm this, and my memory is extremely foggy about it, so for now, the chances of being a Yandere-kun will unfortunately not be very high.

    • As much as I’d like more male yandere characters in the world, and have a Yandere-kun chasing after Senpai-chan, Yanderedev has stated that he doesn’t want to add that.

  11. Hi. This looks really good, but my computer is super slow with the graphics that it has. Is there any chance you could make some performance settings for it? (Like motion blur, etc.)

    • … I honestly do not think that would work. Let’s say that you have a couple of options regarding personalities, and that you can choose between a shy, gentle Senpai and a rough, delinquent Senpai, just as an example.

      If those two personalities have the same voice actor, but just differently pitched, it’ll feel lazy and rushed. The two personalities do not feel different, because they have the same voice actor, the same lines, say the same words in the same way, just in different pitches, and from what I have experienced so far, pitched voices do not sound all that good once you discover that they are pitched.

  17. I’d like to be able to customize facial features like freckles and moles :3c
    For both female and male senpai we should customize underwear XD Maybe you could sneak up on them in the change room and take pictures haha

    • I like the idea of freckles and moles! I also would like to be able to change body type and eye shape.
      Changing Senpai’s underwear? Maybe not. But it’s not a bad idea.

  18. I would say that if there was anything I would want customizable, it would be eye shape. I’m not specifically talking about size but different types of eyes, like a thinner eye with a darker rim may give senpai a more mature look, or a bigger and more expressive eye to give senpai a cuter look. Giving different eye shapes would add a lot more variation between the characters, because despite the different hairstyles, hair colors, and eye colors, they do all still look like copies of each other since they all have the same face.

    And maybe there could be some slightly longer hairstyles for male senpai. Though this request is more for my personal taste and therefore not as important of an inclusion, there are a lot of longer haired males in anime. I do understand that long hair is hard to program physics for, but the hair does not need to be extremely long, just more flowy medium to shoulder length hairstyles to include that style of male characters. Though there is also the fact that longer hair may look the current characters look too feminine, since the faces of the males currently are remarkably androgynous. My first request could fix that so that’s why I prioritize my first request.

  19. When it comes to customization, my standards are really high. If I only have premade options, those premade options better look good, since I can’t alter them. Especially eyes and hair and the colour of these are important. The bigger variety, the better. Also, if I could customize his build (not his height, though, as you said before, that’d probably screw with the animation) so that I could get an either fit, chubby or slender Senpai could be fun.

    I’d like options for his personality and such, but since that’s obviously going to be hard to do if Senpai has a lot of lines, it is only a wish and I wont be disappointed or anything if it never becomes a thing. It would just kind of add to the variety and it’d make it easier for people to feel more connected to Senpai… Or something… If you get what I mean.

    Anyway, thank you for this update, you work so hard and I hope you know how much people appreciate it.

  21. Hey, on my computer the game did not take it well: / I was sad about it.I do not have a way of giving other lower resolution option? The screen size also. Or entar as it does in the room by pressing the “0”. Thank you xD. I’m from Brazil

    • I think he was talking about when you take a picture of a teacher and send it to Info-chan for information on the person, the picture she gives you was gone for that teacher. I may be wrong.

      • You’re most likely correct, I thought that’s what he meant. I was only confused because someone had said they saw the missing person, or something along those lines.

  24. First, sorry for my poor english.
    Anyway, I was think that one cool feature for the game could be thaty you can put buy drugs from info-chan and place the drugs in student locker, them you make one anonymous call to the police or teacher and them the student get expeled from school.
    Another thing can be that theres a gay boy on school who loces senpai and you have to kill him in the same week that you have to kill your rival girl, so ypu have to work hard to get rid of two enemys in the same week.

  25. Perhaps, you should add different ways to walk or move for Senpai when he is stopped (for example, if you want your Senpai seems a more behaved boy, he could have the action be reading a book when he are stop, or if not, listen music with headphones, etc.)

  26. I can’t play either of these new updates. 😦 The August 12th update wouldn’t work for me and now the August 15th update won’t work for me. Do any of my fellow followers have any suggestions as to how I can get this to work on my computer?

  29. Can you add the Yukki’s hat? Cause yandere chan has the yuno’s hair, and if senpai has the yukki’s clothing will be interesting…

  31. I would like to say that the sound design for the intro is magnificent. Much better than I was expecting (I don’t know what I was expecting, nothing bad.)

    It gets the point across perfectly without video or any images whatsoever. I applaud thee.

  34. I got a bit creative with the Senpai customization. I knew because Anime themed schools often have uniformed students and that Senpai would be fully clothed in sort of a buisnessman style fashion that this could work. So with the right use of the customization: Making him Bald, giving him shades etc. I basically made it look like Yandere-Chan was pining over a teenage Agent 47.

  39. Hello! I’m a huge fan of yandere /o/ and senpai’s customization is the feature I was most waiting for! One thing I liked to see on it is weight changes (and height too, but I think you will probably change these things in all npc’s so they don’t look the same, and would be nice to be able to change it on senpai). And I don’t know if you think about year of school that senpai and yandere are. Maybe this could evolue during the game or be chosen by the player (maybe an idea to a future game/second version of yandere is making a university version too! And a update idea is to put an yandere rival too ><). And that leads me to my last request of senpai custom: Beard! (I don't know if it would fit to the game purpose of being a Japanese school but I would like to make my senpai beard ~to look like my boyfriend <3). Thank you so much for your attention ⚠! I love your work. Thank you for doing it and caring so much about the players. Everytime it gets even more awesome! And sorry for the long test and the lots of ideas, but I hope you can take something out of it.

  40. I think Senpai should have longer hair as an option. I think that different eyes designs would be good, and not just for Senpai, but for Yandere-chan as well. She should be customable.

  41. As any have already suggested, different eye designs for senpai would be nice. Also thank you for making this project! It’s very interesting and it’s always exciting to see it progress. Just don’t rush yourself too much.

If your able to eventually change Senpai’s gender would you also eventually be able to change yandere-chan’s gender as well? and depending on your gender depends on your rivals (like if yandere-chan is a male then the rival’s will be the males and vice versa) (I want to play as male and have senpai be female)

  45. I’d love if you could change weight/body size. I understand if it isn’t possible, but if it is, then I’d love if you could add that to the game. 🙂
