Teachers in Yandere Simulator

The latest build can be found here: https://yanderedev.wordpress.com/downloads/

As usual, the latest YouTube video demonstrates the newest features more effectively than a blog post could:

If you’re interested in reading a full list of changes, here you go:

Teachers

  • Added teachers to every classroom.
  • If the player is spotted by a teacher while bloody, carrying a weapon, visibly insane, or taking panty shots, they will be expelled from school.
  • If the player enters another teacher’s class while their class is in session, the teacher will tell the player to leave the room.
  • If the player doesn’t exit a teacher’s class after being told repeatedly to leave, the teacher will take disciplinary measures against the player.
  • If the player is late for a class, the teacher will scold the player. The intensity of the scolding depends on how late the player was.
  • If the player is late for class, they will get fewer Study Points to allocate that day.
  • If the player attempts to attack a teacher, the teacher will resist the attack and debilitate the player, resulting in a game over. (In the future, I will give the player the option to counter-attack the teachers.)

Teacher’s Pets

  • Added the “Teacher’s Pet” personality type.
  • If a student with the Teacher’s Pet personality discovers a corpse or witnesses murder, they will run and tell a teacher.
  • If a teacher is informed of a murder, they will run to the scene of the crime and investigate it.
  • If a Teacher’s Pet witnesses a murder/corpse, but someone else is already reporting a murder/corpse, then the student will run and hide in a classroom instead of informing a teacher.
  • If a Teacher’s Pet informs a teacher of a murder/corpse and leads the teacher to the scene of the crime, but Yandere-chan has already cleaned up the evidence, the teacher will conclude that the student was pulling a prank on her.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug that would break Yandere-chan’s animations during the Heartbroken cutscene if she was laughing or using the mop when spotted by Senpai.
  • Fixed bug that would allow Yandere-chan to dip her mop into a bucket of water when that bucket in a different room or behind a wall.
  • Fixed bug that would allow Yandere-chan to dip her mop into a bucket that was much higher or much lower than her elevation.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the “kidnapped prisoner” model to turn black (hairstyle and hair color will still be incorrect).
  • Fixed bug that would prevent camera from centering properly if the player gets a game over while crouching or crawling.
  • Fixed bug that would allow the player to trigger Easter Egg music without changing Yandere-chan’s appearance.
  • Fixed bug that would cause an automatic game over if Senpai noticed Yandere-chan while in “Pass Time” mode.
  • Fixed bug that would cause NPC pathfinding to break if Yandere-chan was blocking the school’s exit.
  • Fixed bug that would cause police countdown timer to display minutes as “1:60” instead of “2:00”.
  • Fixed bug that would allow the player to bring up their phone menu while allocating Study Points.
  • Fixed bug that would cause students to ignore Yandere-chan when she was dragging a corpse.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Senpai’s face to become deformed during Game Over sequence.
  • Fixed bug that could get two weapons stuck in Yandere-chan’s hands simultaneously.
  • Fixed bug that would cause time to keep advancing during the Heartbroken cut-scene.
  • Fixed bug that would allow Yandere-chan to laugh during the Heartbroken cut-scene.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to get stuck in the mopping animation.
  • Fixed bug that would cause Yandere-chan to “float” when running down stairs.
  • Fixed bug that would cause the wrong text to display over weapon pick-ups.
  • Fixed the textures on the male students during the Titan Easter egg.

Miscellaneous Improvements

  • If a student catches Yandere-chan taking panty shots, Yandere-chan gets a reputation penalty.
  • The player can no longer attend class if they are armed, bloody, insane, or dragging a corpse.
  • Made the camera transitions in the Game Over sequence smoother.
  • Added several new “O key” accessories for Yandere-chan to wear.
  • Removed an Easter egg that was repeatedly reported as a bug.
  • Added props, decorations, and furnishings to the classrooms.
  • Attempted to fix the “Only Senpai comes to school” bug.
  • Disabled pausing during the Game Over sequence.
  • Added a new model for Senpai’s Shrine.
  • Added a rooftop to the school.
  • Added a new easter egg.

  1. This is great! The game is getting better and better! I really hope to be able to translate the final version in my language one day! Keep up the good work!

  2. I think I found a bug.

After killing students, police arrested me for finding my weapon and taking my fingerprints, even though I got rid of the weapon. Heres how I encountered the bug:

-I killed 4 students and left their bodies lying around
-Changed my uniform, threw the uniform into the incinerator
-when picking up the uniform, i was wielding the katana I used to kill the students, causing it to drop
-after getting rid of the uniform, i picked up the katana again and threw it into the incinerator too
    -turned on the incinerator
    -left the school

This of course made the teacher find the bodies and call the police, but when the police arrived, the text said they found the murder weapon and took the fingerprints, even though i threw it in the incinerator with the uniform. Could this be because I dropped the katana once?

    • Japanese schools don’t have cafeterias. Students bring lunch from home and eat them wherever while on lunch break.

      • No, some Japanese schools have their cafeterias. Students can bring their lunch box or buy lunch in cafeteria. Or…if the school doesnt have cafeteria, they should have small bakery for selling bread …But, is it too many students on the roof during lunchtime, I think most of them having their lunch on classrooms.

  3. I think it would make sense for Yandere-chan to be at least able to stealth kill the teachers, except if you don’t want to go full on the “super human teachers” thing. To begin with most teachers probably wouldn’t that easily stop someone with a weapon, or even attempt it, but I guess is it is acceptable to same levels as a gameplay mechanic, though still very unrealistic.

    • Also, you probably have already planned for it, but at least some students should try and stop you themselves.

      • he has planned that with the students who’s personality trait is Brave

  4. Why teachers in Yandere Sim are so badass? Does that have something to do with a fact that they look like Yandere-chan?

On more serious note, another good job Dev-senpai, but I think that Yandere should be able to kill teachers. Even if they are stronger, it’s wouldn’t be that much help if our protagonist (or antagonist maybe I should say?) would launch surprise attack or wield good weapon. You know, stoping someone with katana, gun or dunno, chainsaw is a lot harder than stopping someone with knife.
Well I trust that you willdo whatever is best for gameplay.
Update every month is still cool and far better than what we have from other devs.

    • I think he said that you can kill them if you get your physical education high enough in the update vid.

    • He said that he will eventually install a way to kill the teacher. You would have to update your skill points in physical ed.

  5. The game is only 5% done, but it alredy looks great! I will wait longer for the new stuff if I have to.

  6. Could you gaslight a Teacher’s Pet to the point that maybe they either kill themselves or try to kill you (and, hopefully, get caught)? I dunno how exactly it’d work, but maybe threatening them (in their own handwriting?) and convincing other students to like you more than that student?

  7. Nice Update.
Multiple Teacher personalities could be cool too, because let’s face it, not all teachers will be this serious about their work.

  8. Teacher is pretty vicious and quick to expel, seems kinda harsher than it should be.

In particular, the visibly insane part, personally, I would think that could be seen more as there might be a character flaw in the student, but its nothing that would get you expelled (unless you did something, but obviously you wouldn’t let yourself get caught ;] ).

Personally, I would think something like damaging your reputation would be a more valid penalty. I think reputation damage would also be a more appropriate penalty for classroom disruption.

    • Same thought here. Students don’t get expelled for holding scissors or knife. Weapons in this game are suppose to be the things students can find in real life which can be used as weapon, (right?) but people usually don’t really consider them as weapon, but a tool.

    • I think that it’d be more realistic if the player gets punished by the teacher in some way. You know, cleaning the class room all by themselves after school, carrying school materials to this or that place, picking up trash that some asshole students have thrown in the bushes or something. Or, well, just detention. If Yandere-chan gets punished too often, like, 3 times a week or something, she will get expelled. If she has bad grades and a shitty reputation, there would be a higher chance for her to get expelled.

… Well, I don’t know how hard it’d be to implement things like these, but it seems more realistic.

    • I kinda agree.

I think, the easiest way out of the overly harsh “visibly insane” punishment, is something like the “wrong classroom” approach: Some kind of warnings (maybe one or two, not that much) followed by a expulsion.
The other approach: More mad stuff going on, whenever you are mentally unstable, so that this immideate expulsion is more justified.

As for the wrong classroom part: It’s justified, because the teachers warns the players multiple times.
Just think of Akademi school being a harsh school. 😛

    • Yeah, the “visibly insane” part is the only thing I dislike. I mean, you get expelled for not having good conduct? I think it would make more sense, if the teacher became worried about your mental stability and said something like:” You look really unwell. Did something happen? Maybe I should speak about this with your parents…” And then she ends up in a mental institution or something like that.

But I really love everything else. 😀

      • Yandere-chan’s parents are away. I believe that coming to class insane should take you to the nurse to maybe ‘relax’. And to keep the punishment factor, you miss class so you get 0 Study Points. Better than expelling….

  9. Since you think you’ll only be able to upload new builds only once a month or so, perhaps you could do a “What’s happening in Yandere Simultator” video every couple weeks, kinda like what you did with the “Build delayed” vid. Just a short video on animations in progress, or how different areas are designed, would be awesome to watch, and would keep your fans engrossed in the development of the game, and we still get to see little sneak-peaks into what’s coming next!

    Just an idea.

  10. this was a great build i am excited to see what you have in store for us in the future this game has really jump started this year and tons of stuff added and i am very excited for future updates you always deliver great builds Great Work

  11. Thank you YandereDev for gracing us with this wonderful game. I appreciate all your work and I cant wait to see what you’ve got for us next.

I wish you all the best with your project. I will be donating when I have money

  12. What if, after the teacher’s pet goes to the teacher to lead them to a crime scene, the teacher catches Yandere-chan trying to clean it up?

  13. Will the consequences always be expulsion (game over), or will there be a wider range? While that makes sense for murder or being seen with weapons, it doesn’t make that much sense for other things, eg being in another teachers class instead of your own, where the dialogue kinda doesn’t imply that it results in expulsion..

  14. Awesome teacher update! Love the whole “teacher’s pet” response… Good voice acting for the teachers by the way (even if no VAs are final at this point).
Also, “Visibly Lewd” is great, I lol’d.
Curious to see what that unavailable “Snap” option will entail…

Keep up the good work on this awesome project. Updates every month instead of twice are perfectly fine with me, I get programming this stuff is hard (even though I have no experience myself). Hope we get to see those awesome murder animations teased in the last video soon!

    • I think ‘Visibly Lewd’ should only be there if you’re aiming for the lower half of the body and should with good reputation that students wouldn’t mind you taking their picture (after all they think you just want a pic of a good friend). It’s hard enough to get a decent face shot of a student and the game to recognize that it IS a face for me to send to Info-chan. I feel like i have to get too close…

      • Yandere Dev said there was going to be a photography club so you won’t look suspicious

  15. I love the new features, but I think some of the teachers reactions are weird or just too extrict, getting expelled is too much for being seen insane or just holding a knife or a pair of scissors (you should get detention for that instead), getting expelled for panty shots or holding a bigger and more dangerous weapon (like the katana) is okay, and as for the blood, the teacher should say something like “what did you do?! did you hurt someone!?” just like the students, seems weird that teacher would automatically think it’s a prank and get mad at you (which again, if she really thinks it’s a prank, i think detention makes more sense, and if you get detention too many times, you get expelled). You also should get warnings for the insanity and the minor weapons (cutter, scissors) just like you do when you are in the wrong classroom and if you ignore them you’ll get detention.
You made a lot of progress, keep working hard!

    • or maybe the teacher would hire a therapist or a councelor that keeps an eye on you, which makes it difficult to do bad things.

  16. I notice plenty of people bringing up that a few of the expel offenses seem a bit minor for expulsion, and I thought up a different punishment system there. Instead of a game over expelling you might could get detention, and detention makes you miss out on the rest of the day. You get a detention screen and then are forced to go to the next day, missing out on all the preparation you could have done for that day. It would be a severe punishment without being an immediate game over.

    • Or something more active for punishment. Like cleaning the classroom or bathrooms alone, etc. Where you spawn into a closed area with cleaning supplies and you get a check-off list (like the one when the cops are coming) and have a list of things for Yandere-chan to do as her punishment. And then after, it’s the next day.

      • That would only be fun for the player if there is some kind of strategy involved, e.g, it’s possible to sneak out, but if you’re caught outside before being released, you get into more trouble, to the tune of completly losing a few days, for example. So the player has a choice, they can play the sequence or skip it. If they skip it, they completely loose the after school time slot. If they play it, they can either sneak out and hope not to get caught, or clean everything up really fast in hope of the teacher letting Yandere chan go early.
What would also be nice would be a mechanic that yandere chan can frame another student for a minor offense, so that she gets detention, and then kill her once she gets out of detention. Or Yandere chan could try and get a detention together with her rival and use the detention to eliminate her without witnesses.

      • It wouldn’t be fun. It would be a viable punishment. You’d have no time to stalk Senpai if you spent your 3:30pm-6pm time cleaning classrooms etc so you miss out on being able to meet with the girl to push her off the roof, kidnap a girl, or other things to plot your week.

  17. Here’s my request: can someone talented /please/ make a custom texture for the red and black uniform (the one behind the tree) that was removed this update? I miss it already… I was poking around in the files for the May17 build and I couldn’t find it.

    • What? My school had them outside too for the students to charge their phones or handhelds. The school doors were locked during certain times of the day and if you missed the bus and needed a ride you be have a working cellphone XD

      • But at the corner of the school with no covers, I stood there laughing at it forever.

  18. I think the being expelled for being in the wrong classroom is a bit harsh. In my old high school they’d just get a security guard to remove you or if the teacher was a laid back person (as long as you weren’t disrupting) you could sit there. I think just harmed reputation and spawning outside the classroom would be fine. Would locked classroom doors be an issue once class started? And I think the one thing I’d like is having the school schedule on the Pause Menu (Smartphone) so those who wanna play a perfect Yandere girl can still kill and be on time. Don’t want teachers suspicious after all >.>

  19. Found a bug that makes the game hang. I was messing around, so it could be another thing BUT here’s what I think broke the camel’s back.

I killed a student in front of a teacher, so she started to chase me. Then I ran into another classroom with another teacher and they both got me/noticed me and the game just hung from there.

Oh, and another one. Getting noticed by senpai while running away from a teacher makes your get stuck in place with the “shocked” pose until the teacher catches up to you and tackles you.

  20. Another bug. Getting the “police arrive” text while a teacher is chasing you gets you this: http://I.imgur.com/UNisj3Q.png

I killed a girl, a Teacher’s Pet noticed… then the teacher guarded the body. I went to go drag the body away from her, and then she started chasing. Police had already been called, so I just ran around. The black screen with text came up for a second then BOOM! Neko-teacher pose. I had disposed of the blood (moped it in front of the teacher), and the weapon+clothes+sanity before the teacher came. The corpse was not able to be disposed of.

    • I don’t think Info-chan can sell teacher panty shots… unless a student is into that kind of thing.

  21. Will there be boy teachers?
Yandere-Chan should have a little sibling.
    Last question:
    Is Imouto Senpai-Kun’s little sister?

  22. I LOVE YOUR GAME! Don’t worry about doing this once a month, if people really care about the content of the game, it will all be fine :). I cannot wait for the next update

  23. Since your doing once a month updates i think you should do what you did with the delayed post. You should talk about what you are working on and give us little videos to keep us hyped for the update 🙂

I also have an idea for reading all these comments, you can ask for volunteers to read the comments and notify you of the important bug reports, that way all you have to do is program the game. If you like that idea i can do it for you 🙂 I would be honored to help

  24. This game’s getting more awesome in every update. I do agree with some of the comment with some of the punishments being a bit too harsh, though, and implementing a punishment rather than expulsion, if it’s not too hard to program.

All in all, though, the wait was worth it. Take as much time as you need to get this done- better a later, better game, than a rushed, horrible one.

  25. Is the new easter egg (press g on the keyboard) supposed to be Mako from Kill La Kill? I think that because Yandere-chan’s outfit change gives her a wheat piece and a cap that looks like a sergeant’s one so it looks a lot like Mako’s Goku Uniform.

  26. This is the probably the funniest bug that has ever existed in this game. So I was casually trying out the new version, and after killing most of the students the second they entered the gate, I decided to activate the Attack on Titan easter egg. One of the ale students had caught me in the act of murdering right before I activated the easter egg, and… well….it just caught me off guard…

he just kept rolling around the school like a bowling ball! Personally, I suggest you keep it, but it’s your call

  27. Oh Stupid Yandy (im calling you that from now on) i dont care if the updates take 1 day, or 1 month, or 1 year! I just care for it to be decent, now, just dont take this as saying to get a lazy ass and sttop working, im just saying, delays like this, that you know he’s working hard for it, just makes you, Hyped! Unless you delay it for 2 years… in which that case, your reputation will go down the toilet, just like yandere-chan’s

  28. I think expulsion for looking nervous or being in the wrong classroom is a little harsh. Maybe loose a day or two instead of game over?

  29. There should be some students who are also really strong like the teacher which yandere chan cant simply kill her, and probably is one of the rival, so yandere chan can’t just kill everyone

  30. Cool. I love the idea of killing witnesses. Gives you a reason to kill/kidnap people outside the regular targets. I assume you’re going to tweak it a bit so Mentally scarred students may not know the killer is Yandere chan if they didn’t see her, but its still a cool feature. I also like their being a big punishment if you just try and get panty shots of anyone in the middle of class.

I’m not sure if Teachers can just expel students on the spot for inappropriate behaviour. Detention or something would probably be a better punishment for some things like being late to class. What teacher expels a kid because “she looks crazy”?
